My Wii Fit

Here is my Christmas present, the Wii Fit.  As I write this, it is the 16th January, and it is STILL IN  ITS BOX.!  Not Good!

On Monday, I met a friend for lunch, and this is what I had for dessert.  Not Good!
Pineapple & Passonfruit Meringue
BUT, by Tuesday the 18th January, I am feeling energized and raring to go, so my Wii Fit is taken out of its box - not before time, I hear you say.
This following picture says it all about me really!
Anyway, I'm now standing on my Balance Board, and I'm all set to go.  It really all started pretty well I thought.  My centre of gravity was almost spot on.

Then, even better, my BMI result came up as "ideal", which I was absolutely astounded at.
Do you like the little Mini-Me?!

Then it informed me that it was going to work out my Wii Fit Age.  Am I bovvered?!  No.  Piece of cake, I thought.  I expected hoped  it would come up with, say, anywhere between 50 - 55.   The machine was whirring away and onto the screen flashed the number 75!! Seventy ****** five!!  Excuse me - where on earth did that come from?!  I should point out that this figure appeared before I had even started any training!

"what do you mean - 75?!  How can this be?"

So little bloggy friends, I shall be leaping around on my balance board every day now until I can get that down to a much more realistic figure.  I may never be seen in the blogging world again!!!!!!

Becky and LindyLou have offered to be my Wii Buddies to encourage me to keep going, so, ladies, my first score in the step section was 81! No doubt you will be able to tell me how feeble that is.  EmptyNest has also been talking about her Wii Fit, so she might become a buddy of mine as well!

I feel I should add that I am absolutely brilliant at the ten-pin bowling, as my son-in-law will confirm,  much to his disgust.  He is not happy being beaten by Grandma!!

We love Wallene's WII - but we don't have the Fit yet. It sounds like a lot of fun.

We have a great time challenging eachother by playing the bowling left handed [we are all right handed] or backwards or being on the stairs [far away from the game]. It is a bunch of fun when we mix it up.

You go lady on the BMI - that is awesome!

Okay, My wii fit, which I got for Christmas is still in the box too. I have been playing the regular wii games though so I have been moving and did alot of walking today. My wii is out of the box but the wii fit is behind the chair. I think I will get it out.

SkippyMom - Hi there. The way your family plays the bowling game sounds like a lot of fun! I must try that.

Gawgus things - thought that might make you laugh!! I couldn't believe it!! It was obviously that silly little thing where you had to try to keep in the blue section or something, and I just didn't have a clue on what they were on about!!!

Garnetrose - Yes, you MUST get it out of the box!! But, as you say, at least you have been walking and moving about, so that's good. There are so many different things that you can do on the Wii fit, so I won't get bored!

This made me laugh so much! When Holly did it with her Granny Mac, her WII fit age was older than her Granny's, much to her disgust!!! I thought I was gonna die laughing. Mine was only a few years older than I am, so I was dead chuffed!

Good luck with it :)

Linda's daughter has one she got for Christmas but I haven't seen it yet. She keeps it in her room and uses her TV to play with it. Good luck on getting that age thing down to reason.

This is too funny! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it, outside of it calling you 75! haha, we have talked about getting one but haven't yet.

I certainly don't need a game to tell me I'm fat, out of shape and if you guys are 75, it will tell me I'm already dead in the ground!! hehe

lyndylou - All of a sudden, I don't feel so bad about being 75 if Holly's age came up as older than her GrannyMacs! LOL! Glad I gave you a smile today.

Odie - thank you. I will work on getting that age down!

LindyLouMac - Well, I'm glad you're using yours again now as well. I think I'm going to really enjoy it, because there are so many different options to choose, so no chance of getting bored!

Becca - 65 eh?! Somehow I thought you were much younger than that!!! LOL!

mskanorado - I think it's a really good thing to have, especially during the dark winter months.

Bouncin'Barb - LOL! I take it from that, that you're not offering to be my Wii Fit buddy then?!

Anne- yes, you should certainly get one!!I didn't realize that they were so popular! Let's hope the sunshine lasts here in England.

Hey...the dessert had fruit in it. That's gotta count for something, right?

Good luck with your Wii Fit and motivation!! You can do it!

I love this post. It is hilarious! Keep it up, This. I'm sure your age will come down.

My daughters told me the little cartoons of them got fatter when they did the Wii. They were each 7 years younger than their real age though.

Southhamsdarling said...

Jumble - love it! I hadn't thought of that about the fruit.

Belle - So my little cartoon is going to get fatter. LOL! That is really going to motivate me - NOT!

YAY!!!! You took it out of the box and actually used it!!! I'm so proud of you!! :o) I got a pretty high number for my "age", too!! I now SKIP that part!! Haahaa!! ~ I am VERY jealous of your BMI #!! That is wonderful!! Mine is much higher and I've GOT to bring it down!!!! ~ I don't remember what my first score in the step section was. ~ I pulled my Wii Fit out on Monday and did a short work out, but I am making a promise to you RIGHT NOW that I will pull it out tomorrow and do the AGE test again AND I will do a FULL workout! I'll send you an email with my results. I'm not posting it to my blog!! My hubby reads it! LOL!

Southhamsdarling said...

Becky - I was hoping you would be impressed!!! When you send me the e-mail, perhaps you would let me know what a FULL workout consists of. Then I can have a go at doing the same. Thanks so much for your support.

Thisisme - Forgive me. I just got back from a full day of travels and I am dreadfully late commenting here. The key to any exercise program is to make it fun and vary it enough to avoid getting bored. Don't become discouraged if you don't see immediate results. Think long term and you will bring that number down over time!

I can't wait to hear what you think of the Wii after using it a while.. I have been thinking of getting one.. :)

You are too funny. You did get it open and started the program. Good for you. I am terribly low tech and walk two miles every day. I just cannot stand indoor exercise but realise we have much milder winters♥ And it you are 75 I am 95 certainly but I never bother about numbers.

The thing that cracks me up about the Wii Fit is how it tries to change your avatar's shape to match your weight! At least that's what I remember. The last time I saw it. Guess I'd better start looking for batteries so I can use the remote and balance board again....

THere has to be some kind of glitch!

Good for you for starting! It is now Jan. 20 and I have yet to start my new years exercise resolution. Maybe on Monday.

Shady - I do hope that you weren't too tired after you day's travelling, and thank you for still taking the time to comment dear friend. I don't think that I will get bored with this one, because there are so many different options that one can do, and, you're right, I will definitely think long term!!

Kelly - I really think that I'm going to enjoy it, and all in the comfort of my own living room!

Olive - it seems that several people have had problems with the age that it throws up when you first start! I would much rather be out walking, but, unfortunately, we do get a lot of the winter that it's just not possible :(

On My Soapbox - yes, get those batteries out! I shall look out to see if my avator changes shape. That should be really funny!!

Amy - it's not so easy for you with two little ones to look after, so you do have an excuse!!!

You beat your son-in-law at Wii bowling too?! I LOVE it! The men were so mad at me!

So glad you got it out. We really should start some sort Wii fit club to encourage one another. I hate it when I skip a day and the darn thing tells me that it will make a difference only if I come back every day. Good grief. My age showed 58 but my BMI was....obese. Sigh. You'd think that would be enough motivation.

Southhamsdarling said...

EmptyNester - yes a Wii Fit Blogging Club sounds like an excellent idea. I can't believe that your BMI was... obese. Have a lovely weekend.
