Grrrrr! Stamping Feet and Slamming Doors!!

Hi my little bloggy friends.  Bet that Post Title got you guessing, didn't it?! Hee Hee!  Oops, sorry, I'm not supposed to be doing a happy dance here - "thisisme" is grumpy today.  Yes, that's right, GRUMPY!! ('grumpy' - adjective - meaning bad tempered and sulky).

Actually, I'm not quite so sure about the sulky bit, as I don't really do sulky (no doubt my daughter who blogs will be falling off her chair when she reads that last bit!  Well, I have been known to throw the monopoly board up in the air a few times when the girls were young.  But that was in my youth.  The new me is totally chilled - life is too short - etc. etc.).

Now then, what was I grumpy about?  Ah yes! Do you remember that I wrote a post about a week ago, saying that I was sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine, and that the ironing would have to wait?  Even as I was typing those words, I knew it was a mistake!

Yes, that's right - we've had rain every day since :( and double :(  All you little bloggies basking in the sunshine as you read this, please send some over to my little corner of the world.  I shall be growing webbed feet again at this rate.  A saying down here in Devon is "tell e wot" - well my little friends, tell e wot, but more and more we are realizing how blessed we were on daughter's wedding day to actually have the sun shine for us!

Do you mind awfully if I indulge myself with a few photos to try to lift my spirits again and, remember, some times you are the pigeon, and sometimes you are the statue.  Bye for now - take care.

All photos today are from Pinterest.

Oh,thisisme!!!
I don't know which would be better, having long rainy days or hot muggy uncomfortable days. Haha,"webbed feet". Please make yourself feel better that I prefer having them than sweating a lot!!!
Loved the photoes♬♬♬

Please hung in there (hope, it is the right phrase)
Love, xoxo Orchid

Anne in Oxfordshire - if it's as dreary up there in Oxfordshire, I hope you're managing to keep cheerful!! I like that, "sulk queen". Surely not!!

Orchid - Oh yes, as you say, I don't know which is worse. I guess you have got it worse my friend. I wouldn't like to cope with hot and muggy! You got the phrase almost right! It is HANG in there! Well done. I don't quite understand about your own posts appearing in your dashboard, I'm afraid :( Your blog hasn't come up on my blog roll again for a few days, so I will now go and check out your blog. Warmest wishes to you.

Duncan - thank you so much for sending over the Malaysian sun. I knew I could rely on you!! Hopefully it will reach us later on today.

Oh Thisisme, I feel so badly for you. I can imagine how depressing it must be to endure so many days of clouds and rain. It does seem like a small miracle that the wedding fell on one of the rare sunny days. All I can do is remind you that here in Florida we get depressed when there are too many days of sunshine. We welcome all the rain that we can get because we face chronic drought and water use restrictions. The rain also brings blessed cooling relief from the relentless heat. I truly hope that the second half your English summer is as sunny and dry as the first half was gloomy and wet.

Thank you for the sunny pics.
Much needed.

We were lucky to have a sunny week, with no rain, in The Highlands in APRIL for our week away.
Now paying for it here at home in East Anglia.

Summer has to come back soon, right?

Shady - I appreciate that you know how I'm feeling my dear friend. It really does pull you down a little, when you know it's high summer now, and you can feel it just slipping away! never mind, onwards and upwards! I can also imagine how you must pray for rain over there. Funny really, isn't it?!

Dizzy C - hi Carol! Yes, my family were over from France in April, and we had TWELVE Days of beach weather. It was wonderful!! I think that was definitely our summer though! Thanks for popping over today. Perhaps if we (in England) keep thinking sunny thoughts, the sun will return to us soon! :)

Oh, dear, I'm so sorry to hear that the weather turned nasty! I'm sure it will be lovely again soon.

We have had very cold and windy weather here today. I've even turned the heaters on which is quite usual for Brisbane winters!

Take some time to relax, read your favourite GH magazine and sip tea!

Best wishes and happy Wednesday,
Natasha.

We would be blessed big time if it would rain here in NC my friend. Everything is dry and crunchy and the temperatures are supposed to be in the triple digits through Sunday. If we do get rain it is usually in the form of a bad thunder storm with possible damaging hail or winds. Hopefully it will get better for both of us soon. Take care & keep smiling.

Hi Diane,
As Odie and I reside in the same state in the US it would be redundant of me to describe my weather. Suffice it to say while you were posting pictures of sun, I was posting snow...LOL! I guess we are always looking for those greener or sunnier or cooler or warmer pastures, eh my friend?

Here's to days of sunshine heading immediately your way!

Loves~

Poor This!! ~ I sure hope you see the sun again soon! I sure did enjoy going to the beach with you, tho!! :)

Lovely peaceful pictures to offset a cranky state of mind. Does the rainy day mean that you're finally getting the ironing done?

Rebecca said...

If it is any consolation, it has been raining here too x

Natasha in Oz - lovely to see you here today. I think the weather is a little out of kilter all round the world, and has been for most of this year. Let's hope everything gets back to normality soon, as I don't like getting grumpy!! I loved your suggestions for relaxing though. What a super idea my friend. Hugs to you.

Odie - I can't imagine what it would be like to live with triple digits weather wise my friend! Phew! It would be too hot to attempt anything i would think. Hope the rain and cooler temperatures come your way very soon!

Sush - Likewise, I hope you get the cooler temperatures too my friend. The family are here again late on Friday, so I'm sure they will bring the sunshine with them from France! Hugs.

Becky - Wow! It's lovely to have you back here again today. I've really missed you calling round, I must say! Yes, those beach photos were great, weren't they?! Hope all is well with you and the family.

Pat MacKenzie - I love that - a cranky state of mine! Hee Hee! That's me today! Those pics were gorgeous, weren't they? Yes, the ironing has finally been demolished, so I guess that is one good thing about it all!!

dubgirl - Poor us!!! :( Thanks for dropping by, even in the rain!

I'll send you my sun if you send me your rain. We are desperate for it. Don't want you feeling grumpy today either. Loved the pictures. Especial the "Take me to the Sea" one. So I hope these hugs make you feel better. (((((HUGS)))))

I would have to send you more rain since that is what we are having a week of right now. I love those pictures. How I would love to be in any of those places!

Hi Diane,
I so much wish I could send some Sunshine your way - but unfortunately it's just as dreadful over here in Dublin. But what can do is sending you a BIG Smile (grinning) your way - hope that will make feel a little better at least ;)
There's not much we can do about the weather I'm afraid. Doing the best I can myself, not being depressed from it. Have a great evening my friend.

Hugs
Eva

Auntie - I assume this is Aunt Amelia's Attic! Yes, we have lost the sunshine again but at least you are wallowing it over there!! :)

LindyLouMac in Italy - hallo my friend. I hope that Italian sunshine arrives here soon! You were probably glad to get some rain yesterday, to refresh your lovely garden. Mine is looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment, I'm afraid!

We have had quite a bit of rain here too. Not non-stop luckily but definitely pretty much every afternoon for the last 2.5 weeks. We do need the rain though I suppose, so I'm not going to complain. Hopefully more sun comes for you soon!

Southhamsdarling said...

Kristina - wow, rain every afternoon for 25 weeks. That's more than us my friend! We don't really NEED the rain like you d0! Thanks for popping across today.

Tell e what, I know someone else who throws the monopoly board in the air...! Oh and are we really meant to feel sorry for our dear Shady having all that sun?! Grrrr!

Southhamsdarling said...

Gawgus things - I can't think who that could be that throws the monopoly board in the air!! I guess it must be pretty uncomfortable for poor Shady to have that heat all the time. I wouldn't like it!!

Empty Nester said...

Our heat is purely oppressive. BUT, if you want it, you can have it! And I'll take some of your lovely rain please.

vintch said...

Awwwe! I think I want to go away into those pictures myself. We have been having rain ourselves here in the PNW as well. I think I may join you in the Grrrrrrrrr Stomping of the feet. It is okay to do that.
Isnt God good how He shines out just when we truly need Him too.
I would love to send sun your way and mine too.
Hope and pray you get some this weekend.
Sending sunshine thoughts your way Thisisme.
