I'm Still Here!

Hi peeps!  Well, as you can see, I'm still here and I've almost survived looking after Eli and Ruby whilst their mummy and daddy are on their belated honeymoon.  They have been here since last Thursday and I have only two more sleeps now before I hand them back on Saturday!

I'm sure I've aged ten years in the past week.  What do you think?!

I have to confess to feeling SO tired at times during this past week, and I think my brain has turned to mush.  Obviously, it's been wonderful having them here but, my goodness, it's been go, go, go every day from 6.30 a.m. until they go to bed at night.  Let's just say that, at the moment, I'm feeling every one of my 65 years. Hee Hee!!

Forgive me if I take the easy option with this post, and just include some quotations from Pinterest which I hope you will enjoy.  Meanwhile, I shall just go and collapse in a little corner somewhere!

Hopefully by the next time I see you, I will be back to my bright eyed and bushy tailed self!!

Do hope that everything is going well in your little corners of the world.  Take care and see you again soon.

You don't look a day over 21 in that picture, dear Thisisme, but I didn't know that you smoke! (LOL) I don't know how you do it. When I am around children for more than a few minutes at a time I totally collapse. I can tell that you're tired and I am hoping you can hold on a while longer and then get a good long rest.

I hate to be a spoiler but I need to tell you this because it had me laughing this evening. I just received a picture of 100 year old Margaret using an iPad. That fact alone is rather unusual, but when I clicked to enlarge the image I noticed the header of your blog on the screen. Yessum, Margaret was visiting your blog when that picture was snapped! (LOL) It looks like you have a new fan and follower. I hope that gives you something to smile about, my dear friend. Please take care of yourself. You know how much I care - how much we all care!

Always a plus when I see you have a new post up my dear. I know just how you feel after spending time with my 2 grandsons. Doesn't take long to wear this 65 year old body out when you are not used to all that activity.
Naps are lovely times to cherish and I hope you do get some much needed rest.
You also have a gift for finding the best quotes to lift us up and make us feel better. Thanks for that. Have a great rest of the week.
Hugs,
Odie

My dad used to say he wasn't wired for kids anymore once he was a grandfather. That is so true. I don't know how we did it when we were younger. Well, maybe being younger helped.

Thanks for getting back with a reply. That's the only way I know how to do it too.I relate to your last post.We babysat 2 days in a row all day.By the time I get home,I'm totally zonked. My brain feels fried, but I love them so much. It's strange being fried by little ones you adore.

Oh I do hope you get a 'toes up' Diane...you've earned it! We're having Baby Grace and her parents for the next five days and I'm sure I'll be looking for a 'toes up' of my own! Lily and her Mom and Dad came by for dinner and to 'meet' Grace and tomorrow Trey and Peter will come for dinner and Sunday the entire clan gets together here for dinner. Gramma gonna need a new pair of shoes!
Hugs~

good first quote; with deteriorating standards, we still have to do what's right!
I wish you all the best with the remaining 2 days with the children. We used to keep our grandma on the go all the time!

Thisisme,
Those little ones are so lucky to have a young (and young spirited too) gran to run after them, with them and hug them to within an inch of their wee lives...lucky, lucky little ones.

I look forward to May...when more than a few things will be back to normal (you'll be back, the A-Z will be over and I'll be able to drop by regularly again).

Take care and look after yourself as well!

I never thought I would be so excited as when my daughter-in-law said, You don't have to babysit tomorrow, her daddy is off work. As much as I love my grandkids, I tire easily, too.

I can relate to you as my 11 year old grandson lives here (since he was two weeks old - just cleaned a spill - lol). Fun though.

I like the one about laughing - crying does hurt.

Love the quotes! Can imagine that you're feeling a little tired, but in a good way I think. They are adorable :)
Have a lovely weekend!

Well, it has been a very rough week for you! Grandkids are precious, but they sure can wear you out. Our granddaughter always jumps on us saying, "The sun's up", time to get up. We slowly open our eyes and say, "But, it's still dark out." Apparently, she is the sun! haha. Love the quotes.

I heard that grands will keep you on your toes! But I've also heard that they'll keep you young! Maybe it's good we don't have any yet--just take this time to rest up? LOL

Hi Diane,
I laughed hysterically at the picture of the dear elderly smoker with a sour look.
And I'm also stunned that Shady now has a photograph of dear Margaret looking at your blog on her Ipad. Wow, the world is a tiny place.
I wish I could have been there to help out with Eli and Ruby Violet:)
Maybe you can give them some little chores to turn the tables? Or reverse the roles and tell them to put you down for a nap with stories.

Things are going very well thank you! I do hope you are getting some rest now that your wee charges have been returned safely (?) to their parents! Thank you for stopping by today. It seems my last couple of post have been very serious. Back to nonsense Monday I promise!

Hi Thisisme, I couldn't get your quotes to come up, but thoroughly enjoyed your 'self portrait'. I feel like that too. Our grandson has been with us since last Monday, he will go home on Tuesday. And, my husband and I could use wheelchairs right about now. They are so fun, but us folks in our 60's, can't take all the physical activities like we used to. So, I'm behind on my blog reading now, got a few minutes to do a little catch up. I love your top beach photo. Talk to you soon-hope you're getting some rest...mine will come in a couple of days! hugs!
