Happy Monday Everyone ...

Hi again everyone.  First of all, I'm sorry if I haven't been over to visit your blog for the past few days.  Truth is, I just haven't felt up to it.  Unfortunately, I'm having real issues with my skin yet again - it really is unbearable.  I've been sleeping for a lot of the time, which is not like me at all, as I'm usually dashing here there and everywhere.  I'm on 500 mg antibiotic tablets four times a day, and another load of different stuff to try on the skin.  Thankfully, they haven't put me back on to the steroid tablets, as it took me almost nine months to get off them, as you have to do it very gradually.  I can cope with the skin problem, but it's the most horrendous irritation that's driving me to distraction.  Hey ho!

So, today, I thought I would post some quotes for you, which I hope you will enjoy.  I heard something about a bloggy friend a few days ago, which really served to remind me that, quite often, all is NOT as it would appear on the surface.  An awful lot of us are coping with something or another, and that is why the following quote really is one of my favourites.

Keep Calm and Carry On

This year, 2013, is the 200th anniversary of the publication  of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", so, in honour of that, I will leave you with a photograph of the divine Colin Firth who divinely played Mr Darcy in the television series.

Just in case you can't watch the video, you will have to make do with a still photo!

I hope to see you all again soon.

I really like your snowy header.
Isn't it amazing the different impressions that each director leaves with their movie.

I like your saying to be kind. I did something that wasn't very kind. Often I'm too blunt. I believe one gets that way with age.

Sorry you are feeling poorly. Winter blahs sorta set in about now, too.
Love and peace

Hallo, dear, dear Thisisme! I am so sorry you're ailing again. I pray that the meds you are using will hasten your recovery and that you will soon be up and around, filled with vim and vigor and out and about.

You are absolutely correct when you point out that all is not always as it seems with people. We all have our share of difficulties in life and some have many more than their share. I have learned to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. When I notice someone in a mood, instead of backing away I move closer and try to understand what they are dealing with and how I might help. When you have the patience to do that everybody wins.

I wanted you to know that Mrs. Shady and I are enjoying the television series Doc Martin which is filmed in Port Isaac, Cornwall. Have you watched the show? I think you'd like it.

Please get well soon, my dear friend. All your friends around the world care deeply about you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I didn't know you were suffering yet again. You always seem so upbeat with such a sunny disposition! As my mother used to say, "everyone has their demons to deal with". I suppose this blasted skin condition is your demon right now - I'm praying that it will go away.

So sorry that you are once again fighting that skin thing. It must be just awful.

As for the quotes, thank you so much I learned something. The very first one, has been a favorite of mine for over forty years, and I had it written on a fly leaf in my Bible. But I never knew it was from Plato.

So thank you ! Hope you are soon feeling well. Hugs to you - Marsha

So very sorry you are having to deal with that again- you are in my prayers, my friend.

I adored your quotes- I'm going to keep a copy to share.

You watch Downton Abbey, don't you? Oh my, I watched the episode of last night having to do with the birth, and I am still so stunned I don't know what to say! You all watched it a while back, but I still don't even know how to process it!

Gentle hugs to you~

I'm sorry to hear you are ill again. My heart goes out to you. I'll be praying for you.

I love the quotes, especially the one by Plato. We do all have trouble and sorrow. Sometimes it is awfully hard to bear.

I love that version of Pride and Prejudice. The best one, I think. God bless.

Hi Diane,
So sorry to hear that you're having the skin problems again, hope it will ease soon.
How I love that TV serie when it went on, I still watch it from time to time on Netflix (hehe) It's a nice romantic story really, and Colin Firth is sooooo handsome.
Have a lovely week my friend.
Hugs to you x

The worrying quote, the 2nd one, is very profound.
Diane, I hope you'll get over this skin problem soon. Me and my two daughters have very sensitive skin and it does get extremely disturbing at times. Sending a flood of positive thoughts your way!

Love those quotes and they are so so true.

Oh how I love Mr Darcy....let me count the ways!

Lastly, that blasted itching must be driving you crazy and getting you down. I tried coconut oil on my psoriasis which helped and it was cheap too! It helped for a while until my skin got used to it but anything that may give you some relief would help xxx

I hope your skin irritation clears up soon. It sounds like a miserable affliction.

I especially like the quote about worrying, being married to a world class worrier. I read it to him and it was like a light went on behind his eyes as he realized the truth of it.

Take care and get better.

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering. What a wonderful spirit you have, to look beyond your discomfort and speak of what others are facing whether they speak of their ills or not.

I like your quotes and your comment in the sidebar about kindness, also your blogger's manifesto.

Best wishes for better days ahead!

A variation on your first quote by Plato: Life is so hard, how can we be anything but kind? Dear Diane, I send you many soothing blessings as you fight your battle of the skin ailment. May the kindness of those around you help you feel alive and at peace. Your video clip makes me want to see the whole thing. I've probably seen it before, but one of the advantages of a poor memory is that I can see it again and still enjoy :)
