New Year, New Beginnings .....

2013 is here and I hope that people will be kind to each other.  I hope people will help each other.  I hope people with treat others with respect.  It doesn't seem like too much to hope for, does it?

You will know by now how much I love vintage cards (well, anything vintage really), and here are a few to start the new year with.

"This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!"

(William Arthur Ward).

"One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this — To rise above the little things.”

(John Burroughs).

Here's hoping that 2013 will be kind to all of us!

Hallo, dear Thisisme! "Onward and upward," as we like to say. What better time than today, January 1st, to take advantage of a clean slate and make every minute count, start living life with gusto, spreading joy and happiness and helping others in need? I pray that it will be a wonderful year for you and your family, for England, for America and for the world. Happy new year, my dear friend Thisisme!

Hello Diane,
I hope you have had a really lovely Christmas. My new year's resolution is to be kinder. I try to be kind, but sometimes I slip up, especially with my loved ones, so I am going to try harder. I hope that 2013 turns out to be a real humdinger of a year for you and your family, full of love, and joy, peace and contentment.
Thank you for your friendship over this past year, I love talking to you, and look forward to the coming year.
All my love to you, Linda x

Happy New Year 2013 my dear friend, I agree with everything you mention. I have a birthday in a week and looking forward to it, yes, another year older but we cannot turn back the clock so might as well go with it. Blessings, Lu

Happy New Year Diane! I'm so happy to know you are surrounded by your loving family through these holidays. I also enjoyed the vintage cards. I think that fine art becomes more rare as time goes forward.

Hi Thisisme! Sorry I'm so late. I've been pretty sick, and, just had to forego blogging this past week or so...gosh I don't even remember where the holidays went!

Happy New Year to you! I've seen some of your gorgeous photos on facebook, trying to pretend I'm not sick, but it got the best of me! This is a beautiful post, I especially love the card of the old moon face. You would see that a lot on vintage cards in the 1950's! Have a wonderful weekend...will catch up to you on FB.! Hugs and Happy New Year!♥

I love all things vintage too. This year...I mean, last year...I mean just before Christmas, I found some Christmas cards that were just like the ones my grandmother used to send out each year. I bought them even though I knew I had to send out New Years cards this time around. I have a lot of ornaments for the Christmas trees that are hers too- they are my favorites!
