Bit Busy At The Moment ....

Hallo again little peeps! Hope you are all faring well at the moment.

I know that quite a few of my bloggy friends are participating once again in the April A - Z Challenge, and I just wanted to say that I am going to find it quite hard to comment on all your posts, as you will be posting every day.  I will try to read as many as I can, and I admire you all very much for taking up this Challenge.  Good luck everyone!

My hubby is a District County Councillor and he is standing for re-election at the beginning of May, so I shall be tied up helping him with all the preparations for this.  Most importantly, leaflet dropping and knocking on doors.  We have around 8,000 leaflets to deliver!  Obviously, we have a trusty band of helpers, but it is still a very busy time for us.

He has been a brilliant Councillor and works all hours, from early morning to evenings.  Then, quite often, he has evening meetings and then, of course, he has to deal with the 100 or so e mails that arrive every day, plus an calls on the telephone.  Politics has got such a bad name at the moment and I quite understand why.  I am the first one to be shouting at the television for the stupid antics of our Politicians.  They really don't seem to live in the real world, OUR world, sometimes!

But, hubby works at a local level, and is a huge support to the local community, which includes all political persuasions.  I will be so upset for him if he doesn't get elected again, but, honestly, with all what's been going on at national level, you just don't know how people are going to vote - IF they bother to come out to vote at all.

Anyway, what will be will be, and it's no good worrying about it.  I just wanted to let you know that if I'm not visiting you as often as I would like, there is a very good reason why!

Take care my friends.

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies." —Groucho Marx

Wow, that quote, quite scarily, is just about spot on!
Thanks for stopping by my blog Diane, and I wish you and your husband well with the busy time ahead.

Good for your hubby for devoting himself to public service. Should he ever want to enter politics in the US, let me know and we will help! Surely he will win, as I'm sure the people can see the great good he does.

And I tip my hat to the people who enter those Blog Challenges. I can hardly keep up with posting 3 or 4 times a month. Can't fathom how I would post every day!

Hallo, dear Thisisme! Your header is looking better than ever, dear friend. The grounds and gardens around your lovely home would make our friend Desiree swoon. I know you are proud of your hard working husband and I hope he wins reelection. Let us know how it turns out next month. Groucho hit the nail on the head in that quote of his and when you realize it was rendered a long time ago you can see that little if anything ever changes in the wonderful world of politics. Have a fine Thursday and a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Thisisme!

Hi Thisisme, I've missed a week or two of posts so have done a quick review of your latest. I really enjoyed Eleanor's description of her activities in India. What a worthwhile thing for her school to do.

Good luck to your hubby in his bid for re-election. You must meet a lot of people through his efforts, and the handing out of flyers. The world needs good men(and women)like him to keep the wheels running smoothly, whether locally or internationally. Be sure to let us know how it all turns out.

Funny how old that quote is from Groucho Marx and how apropos it is today. Sigh.

Fingers crossed and I will keep your hubby in our prayers that he is re elected. The world needs more, decent, honest, hardworking men and women like him.

Let us know how it goes. Hugs to you!
