My New Little Baby .......

Sorry peeps - I'm a bit late in getting round to see you all again. I promise that I will do the rounds later on today!!

Well, did the title of my post today get you wondering what your friend 'thisisme' had been up to!  I am so excited, as I have just purchased a vintage/retro 1960's caravan, and she is called Sandy.  Don't you know that Eli and Ruby are just going to love her, and I think that Eleanor (aged fifteen and a half) thinks she's pretty cool too!

The only problem will be for hubby to manoevre her into the position in the garden where I would like her to be - might mean moving a few gazebos and arbours!! Eeeek!  I have every confidence in that man.

Would you like to see her? Again, apologies to my facebook friends, because you will already have seen these photos.

Sandy has been renovated in a shabby chic beach hut style.  Don't you think she just has MY name on it?!! She has been rewired with a new hob, oven and fridge, so I could well be camping out there this summer.  What fun!

You will remember that I did a recent post on retro caravans - see here - and this inspired me to go a-looking.

Today I am thankful - thankful  for all the blessings in my life, and even though I am "a woman of a certain age", thankful that I can still get excited about things and have the good health to be able to enjoy them.

By the way, I wonder when "a woman of a certain age" becomes an "old woman"?!

Take care everyone, and see you all again soon.

Sandy is beautiful!! She reminds me of our very first caravan, I'm not sure how we all fitted in her now, but we had lots of fun. Wishing you lots of fun in her as well, whether you park her in your yard or venture down the road with her.

blessings,
Diana

I just can't believe it came decorated so sweetly. Fun times ahead this summer for all of you.

I love her! She is just perfect! You are going to have so much fun spending a warm summer evening in her, and I know the grandkids will certainly enjoy their time in her, too.

I'm going to show my ignorance- what is a hob?

Enjoy your lovely caravan, my friend!

Hallo, dear Thisisme! I'm late commenting because I cried "EEEK!" and fainted dead away when I read the title of your post. (LOL) Mrs. Shady had to revive me with smelling salts. (LOL) Your retro caravan is positively darling, and named after Belle's daughter! :) When I read about your fascination with vintage caravans I didn't really think you were seriously considering getting one, but by golly you did. I know the kids will have a ball playing in it... Alfred, too, and it will make a wonderful addition to your garden. I can picture you directing your tired husband to "move it a few more inches to the right... now a few more inches to the left." (LOL) Your happiness is mine, dear friend, and filling your life with exciting new things like this vintage caravan will keep you forever young. Smooches smooches smooches!

hi Thisisme...I LOVE your little retro caravan! It will be such fun, and the kids will love it too. That was a fantastic impulsive act if I ever saw one! And, very 'beach hutty' decorated, although I know you will add some 'special' touches to it.

Congratulations! I can't wait to see where she comes to rest in your gardens. Have a lovely week, I've taken the rest of the week off from work...hope to get some fun stuff done. See you soon!♥

I wrote something meaning to be funny and then I thought people are so touchy about certain things so I deleted it. I don't know if you had read it yet.
A woman of a certain age, huh? pshaw

Aren't you the QT pie in your "come along." I want a little one just like that to put on some land I still have. I sold the ranch. Too big for me to keep up.

Cute, cute, cute.

Sweet Sandy :) she looks great! Will she only reside in the garden or will she also go on the road? :)

Southhamsdarling said...

Hi Claudia. If we have a lovely hot Summer (!!!) then I think she'll definitely go on the road and we'll have a trip down to Cornwall.

Hi Shelly. A hob is the thing on top of the cooker where you cook things in a saucepan !

Eeek indeed dear Shady!! Your comment as always , made me smile! Yes, that will be me directing operations out in the garden. I'm just hoping that it won't all end in tears!!

Hi Suzanne - enjoy your few days off work. Yes, I expect I shall be adding some touches of my own. I've already bought a few things ! Eeeek!

Oh looking at Sandy took me back to my youth and going with my dad while he towed my great aunts little caravan to the caravan park for her it is a cute little thing like Sandy.

We women of a certain age only become old women when we decide to be one. I'm not casting my vote in that category for either of u!
Hugs and I truly love your caravan!

I love, love, love this! I would love to have one of these myself. It will be so much fun to play in this for you and the children. I hope Sandy goes on some trips to the beach too. What fun.

A woman of a certain age becomes old when she stops living. My mom turned 97 yesterday. She is still young. She giggles like a girl, she love new things, she is involved with life, and she keeps on going out of curiosity about life. She is self reliant and independent. That is why she is young.

There are no words to adequately describe my envy as well as my delight for you. Sandy is adorable and is going to be one of the most fun "friends" you'll ever have. What a wonderful retreat/treat she will be!! -- Jan
