China Around the House ....

Today I thought I would show you some of the pieces of china that I have in the home.

For many years, once the children were grown up, hubby and I used to enjoy going to all the Antique Fairs at the weekends and picking up bits and pieces.  We don't do that any more, as I now try to get a few more modern pieces to have around.  In fact, I rather like the shabby chic look these days, and have several pieces dotted around.  The mix seems to work very well together.

The above two pieces used to belong to hubby's mum.

The following two items belonged to my mum, with the rest of the pieces being collected over the years.

Well, it's Friday once again.  Time passes too quickly.  I just want to hold it in my hand and hang on to it for a while.  To savour all the good times for just a little while longer.

I believe the clocks go back this weekend in America (although I could be wrong here!).  In England, they will go back on the 27th October and then Autumn really will be upon us.

Several of you mentioned my new header photo last time.  It is the old apple orchard at the bottom of our garden.

Sending blessings to you all my friends.  I hope you have a good weekend.

Dearest Diane,
Wow, your collection of China is really GORGEOUS♡♡♡ Loved to see them all. Most of them must be Wedgwood; I only have tiny one when I once had a chance to visit your beautiful country♬♬♬ There must be lots of memories with them.
Thank you very much for sharing with us, my friend.
Oh, and fresh apple and apple juice must be really GOOD. Night Night from Japan.
Lots of Love and Hugs to my friend in England, xoxo Miyako*

What lovely china! I just came to have my great grandmother's set, and I've enjoyed learning more about antique china. In fact, a family member who deals in antiques found a 17th century French china tea set at a flea market and bought it for $2.00. He sold it for several thousand. Yours are wonderful to look at!

That is a most beautiful picture of your apple orchard, with the hint of the park bench! The epitome of autumn! And, you still have apples on the trees-such a treat Diane.

This was a lovely post, I love the little china binoculars and your other items. It's nice to have those things to look at, and yet, nice to get newer and more modern things too. Yes! We can have it both ways!

I have the day off today, going with hubby to see his doctor. And, what a gorgeous day! I will see you later Diane! Happy Friday to you! ♥

Hallo, dear Thisismekins! (LOL) You'll never guess who showed up to comment on my blog today: Dell Rat Ron who swooned when he saw that you called him Ronnikins! It looks like we have another love triangle as we did a couple of years ago when Desiree was in our circle. :)

You have a wonderful collection of china. My aunt and uncle traveled about the mid Atlantic region collecting pieces like these at flea markets and garage sales, cleaning and restoring them and reselling them in a housewares store of their own.

I wish I could have a spot of tea with you and allow my vision to pan around your spacious property, gazing in appreciation at your garden, the trees and Sandy the retro caravan. I never see fall colors or falling leaves here in Florida and I'd love to experience autumn Devon style.

I hope your Friday is fabby and that you have a terrific weekend, dear friend Thisisme!

Hi Diane , I have no China like this , but my mum does. And as soon as I saw the China I thought , looks like my Granny's , used to have in her China cabinet :-)

Autumn? I think it has come and gone , now I think heading to winter early :-( well it seems like it up here.

Have a great weekend and a super trip to France. xo

Hi Diane,

You have some really beautiful china, I love the binoculars they are very cute.
Yes, the weeks pass quick don't they. I think it goes faster and faster the older you get...almost.
We have the wind and rain back over here again, it's nice to be indoors..safe and warm.
Have a lovely weekend!

Nice collection Dianne, thanks for the reminder about the clocks next week, I don't like the thought at all of it getting dark so early.

Well, when the clocks go back (not this weekend) it will be sunny earlier, but darker earlier too. I hate it when we are making supper in the dark! I love your covered bowls the best! Such delicate painting on all that lovely china. Guess what my DIL brought me when she came to visit from ALberta last week???? You'll laugh like I did when I opened it--a tea cup and saucer! After my blog about the tea cups she felt sorry for me. The one she gave me has all the provincial flowers of Canada on it. It feels so wonderful in my hand and now I know why tea cups are better than mugs: they hold less tea, so it cools to drinkable temps. sooner and then you can refill again. I love my new tea cup. Thanks for this lovely post. It was great!

What beautiful china, Diane. I don't have a lot but I do like it. I was looking at my china cabinet a few days ago and thinking I need to get in there and have a tidy up.
Day light saving started here in New Zealand a fortnight ago so we have pretty much adjusted to it now. In the south here our evenings stretch out to about 10pm. Not so good for those with wee kids, but great for those with slightly older families.

blessings,
Diana

I loved seeing your china. I am a china nut, but I don't collect much of it because I just don't have room to display it. You have a wonderful way of displaying all of yours. Thanks for sharing.
