This And That For A Sunny Friday ....

Well, who would have thought it? I have just realized, by pure chance, that this will be my 600th blog post.  I just can't believe that really.  It seems like only yesterday  that Eleanor was my guest blogger for my 500th post.

As I wasn't aware that this milestone was coming up, I'm afraid I haven't got anyone special to join me today.  Although, to be honest, I do!  I have all my dear bloggy friends, who have been such an encouragement and support to me over these past few years.

I am an Aries lady.  We are very well known for starting something off, but we very rarely finish, and just want to be up and on to more exciting things.  So, in actual fact.  I am feeling rather pleased with myself that I have stuck at my blog  and not given up.  That certainly is mostly down to the lovely comments that you always leave me.  Here are some lovely tulips for you all to share :)

I

I thought I would also share some early signs of Spring with you, for we have surely waited long enough.  These photos were taken in the garden yesterday.  This time last week, the garden was still looking quite sad, but just look what a spell of warm, sunny weather has done.  It's as if all the little plants are now vying with each other to put on the best show.  I'm sure that they are pleased to feel the warmth of the sun as well.  I look after Ruby on Thursdays, and we actually spent all day outside.  It was wonderful. She absolutely loves it out in the caravan.  I am so pleased that I bought it (completely on a whim!).  It just makes me feel happy, as soon as I step inside it.

Here's Miss Ruby, in the greenhouse, pretending that she is in her fairy castle.  I tell you, she has such a good imagination!

I don't know whether or not you have heard of Hot Cross Buns in your little corner of the world, but I just love them, especially served warm with Devon Clotted Cream.  (Yum!).  They used to be for sale only at Easter time, but  in recent years, you can virtually buy them all year round.  Anyway, I was in the supermarket this morning, and look what I found !

Double chocolate Hot Cross Buns!  I ask you - is nothing sacred?!  I did hover over them for a few minutes , but, in the end, I decided to resist.  No one loves chocolate more than I do, but this just didn't seem quite right somehow :(

So then little bloggies, the weekend is almost upon us once again.  Whatever you're doing, I hope that you will manage to have some fun and relaxation.  Me? If this glorious weather holds up, you will find me working in the garden.  Pop in for a cup of tea - I would love to see you!

Oh how your post appealed to me today. Seeing beautiful flowering plants vying for your attention and then seeing the most precious flower of all,Ruby Violet, with her most glorious smile! The chocolate filled hot cross bun was the creme de la crop and made me want to sail across to Southhams to try one. Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

Hallo, dear Thisisme! You should have given a nod to our friend BB by making the title of this post "This and That As I Bounce Thru a Sunny Friday." (LOL)

What a glorious header image! Is that babbling brook anywhere near your home?

Congratulations to you, dear friend, for 600 posts that have consistently offered uplifting pictures and stories, wisdom and useful advice and good cheer to one and all. I well remember Eleanor's guest stint when your celebrated your 500th post.

Tulips are my favorite flower and that bunch looks lovely with your retro radio and other items on that table.

I'm delighted to know the sun is out and the weather turning warmer. Plants are like people. They need only a little encouragement to respond and thrive.

I knew Ruby and Eli would love the caravan. Eli can pretend it's a fort or a tree house and Ruby can use her imagination and pretend she's living in a private cottage on the grounds of Downton Abbey.

You have amazing will power and even more "won't power" to resist those double chocolate Hot Cross Buns! I'm afraid if I tried to eat only one I wouldn't be able to stop. I'd eat the whole lot of them and gain a quick 10 pounds in 10 minutes!

Thank you very much for 600 posts of joy and light, dear friend Thisisme! Enjoy the rest of your Friday and your weekend!

Congratulations on your 600th post...that's a lot of writing. I'm envious of your lovely garden plants. Here in Alberta we still have snow on the ground although it's rapidly melting now and the air does feel springy. I agree with you about the chocolate hot cross buns. I love the regular ones and think adding chocolate to them almost amounts to sacrilige ;)

Hi Diane, Glad you have stuck with it. I have too, but haven't been blogging as often as I once did. Thank you for the lovely tulips and the pictures of the all the beautiful flowers. As I sit here the birds are singing outside, it is 5.45 and not dark, welcome Spring.

How wonderful that you have written 600 posts. I always enjoy your pictures and today's post is no different. I wish I had something blooming here. I need to find some daffodils or tulips to brighten my house.
Hot cross buns reminds me of the nursery rhyme. I would never have been able to resist chocolate ones. Good for you.

What a super lovely post my awesome friend. 600? Wow. That's truly a milestone. So glad you didn't give up either. In that first picture with the pink tulips, is that white table one of the ones you did yourself in the Shabby Chic motif? Just curious. It's such a happy picture.

And what's even happier...having Sir Shady think of me while visiting your blog!! We are so lucky to have started blogging when we did!!!! XX

Congrats on number 600. As they say, "Here's to 600 more."
Did you take the header picture? It's so wild looking and a little fierce. Is that your house up on the hill?
I always enjoy your pictures and I really enjoy looking at your flowers. We still have mounds of snow. I think I'm ready for a milder climate.
I love that pink picture. I'm going pink lately too. I had to get a new phone and I wanted a pink cover. I told the sales man I want a "girly cover. Those pink tulips are soooo sweet.

Hi Glenda. Loved your comment about the most precious flower of all. That will be Miss Ruby Violet then! I think I will definitely be going back for those double chocolate hot cross buns. Naughty but nice !

Shadykins ! It's you!! You will see from a comment further down that BB really appreciated your reference to her blog! I'm fairly lucky , because I don't put on too much weight in spite of what I eat sometimes ! I don't think for one minute that you would succumb to those chocolate buns, for you eat far too healthily for that. Thank you for your congratulations. There's enough bad things out there in the world, so I do try to concentrate on the positive things. That is the River Erme that flows right through our village. It's only a ten minute walk away. Smooches to you dear friend.

Hi there Pat. How lovely that you're here. I haven't seen you around for a while. Hope all is well. I really do think that Spring is now just around the corner!

Hi Nita. Isn't it wonderful that the days are getting linger and that we're hearing the birds singing again. Like you, I don't put up posts as much as I used to, but it is nice to keep the Blog going. Sending blessings your way.

Hi BB, my awesome friend. So glad that you're here. It wouldn't be a party without you! You can be in charge if the champagne. I really do think that we did start blogging at the right time, and I can well remember how supportive you were to me , when I didn't have a clue what I was doing at times. Yes, I did that cupboard ! Take care.

Thank you Linda. I appreciate you being here to help me celebrate. Hey! I've got a famous author here. :) I wasn't sure if my American friends would have heard of them. I should have known!

Hi Thisisme! Well, I hadn't thought much about Hot Cross Buns until I saw your photo-WOW! I never heard of chocolate hot cross buns. Do you remember the English nursery rhyme?
'Hot cross buns, hot cross buns...
one ha penny, two ha penny...
hot cross buns." We sang that a log as kids.

I really like your presentation of tulips and your swell retro radio. And, your fresh spring flowers are all gorgeous...I would love to be there to walk through the gardens! I'm really seriously thinking of looking around for a retro van! Yours looks like such a fun getaway-that's what we need sometimes!

Congratulations on your 600 posts! Phew...you do stay busy. Have a wonderful weekend Thisisme! Hugs!

Hi Manzi. It's your YOUNG friend here!! I so love it that you are 'going pink' and that you asked for a pink phone cover. We can be two 'girly girls' together. What fun! Yes, I took the photo of that river which runs right through the middle of our village. It was a couple of weeks ago, when we were still having the torrential rains over here, so, yes, it was a bit fierce, and very noisy !

Southhamsdarling said...

Hi Suzanne. I knew you would love my little retro radio. You would have great fun if you bought a little van. I absolutely love being in mine. Yes, I certainly do remember that little rhyme. We were probably singing it at the same time. Oh, no, I've just remembered, you're quite a few years younger than me :). Yes, it sure is wonderful that the Spring flowers are all starting to pop up again. Sending hugs right back to you :)

I'm knocking at your back door in the age department Thisisme! You're not hogging that 'lady of a certain age' title by yourself, teehee! hugs!
