Sunday Snaps!

When the grandchildren come to spend time here, we have mostly trains and cars for them to play with.  Whilst Ruby Violet is quite happy playing with them, I thought I would buy a little buggy and baby doll for her to play with.

I looked after her on Friday, and you should have seen her little face when she saw it.  She was so excited, and it gave me such happiness watching her play with the buggy and baby doll ALL day.

Her little legs must have been tired out, because she walked up and down the garden for hours -

She also had to give the baby lots of cuddles -

Then it was time to play in the Play House -

Then it was time to do some dusting -

So, as you can see, little Ruby had quite a busy day!

Those gasps of astonishment, those shrieks of pleasure, those sighs of delight, lost long ago when your children grew wise and worldly ~ are suddenly given back to you by your grandchildren. What seems to be the same small hands clutch yours, dragging you from one excitement to another ~ "Look! Oh, look! Come ON!"

What a marvellous post, Diane. Your little angel incarnate is too precious for words. I'd be scooping her into my arms at every opportunity! What a special time she had honing her own latent mommy skills. It just goes to show there really is a difference between the sexes. At such a tender age, she knew exactly what caused her little heart to sing and soul to soar. I love your description of what it means to be a grandparent!

Desiree - so glad you enjoyed the photos my friend. Yes, she does love lots of cuddles (lucky me!!). Yes, it did seem as if she knew that this is what she should really be playing with. She didn't look at anything else all day!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

And I don't know about YOU, but I appreciate the squeals of delight and the little hand in mine so much more now that I am a grandma and am not a stressed parent.

That special child is adorable and every picture melts my heart, Thisisme. She is learning so many new things, most importantly how to love and nurture. When Alfred visits I am sure she learns how to be kind to animals which is also very important. We must all strive to hold on to that childlike wonder and glee. Have a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend!

She is soooooooooo precious and you seem to have given her great enjoyment with the girly treasures. We had a huge yard sale in front of where I work Friday to raise money for the high school marching band to travel to a competition. My boss is president of band boosters association and chooses Fridays for these sales so he can enlist the help of his employees. Very soon in the day I discovered gallon sized container filled to the brim with Legos. My grandsons love them so I purchased it myself and gave it to them yesterday. They were in heaven as it had many special shaped pieces that made their imaginations run wild. Seems you and I are both enjoying our grandchildren a lot.

Claudia - greetings from sunny England to sunny Timisoara my friend! Enjoy your break and the rest. We will look forward to seeing photos of course|!

Shady - Hi dear friend Tom. Hoping it's still cooler for you over there, whilst we are sweltering here!! LOL!! Yes, little Ruby was certainly learning her nurturing skills on Friday, and she will be so thrilled when Alfred arrives again. Both the little ones are very good with him, and gentle. I hope all is well with you my friend.

Denise - gosh, 7 grandsons!!!! I know you love them all dearly, but it must have been just a little bit special when that little granddaughter arrived 5 years ago! I wanted her to have something that was just for her. (Although Eli wanted to swap his little bus for the pram - you can't win, can you?!!).

Odie - it certainly is good to see you here today. I hope you're managing to get some relaxation in, with everything else you have going on at the moment. Yes, my friend, we are so blessed with our grandchildren, and I can imagine that your little grandsons must have been thrilled with all that lego. Hope little Rocky & Linda are keeping well and that you have a good week ahead. What a good idea for the sale to raise money for the Marching Band.

What beautiful photos of Ruby. She looks so innocent and angelic. My little girls loved their dolls strollers too. So did my granddaughters. Your poem at the bottom is true, we get to relive the joy of having children all over again in our grandchildren! What a blessing children are.

Skippy - it's a pretty little dress, isn't it? Last week she was in long sleeved dress and tights. Hee Hee! She had so much fun with her little stroller and doll.

Belle - Hi my friend. You are so right, children and grandchildren are such a blessing. I do hope that you are feeling okay at the moment.

That Ruby made such a good little mother to her baby doll, didn't she? I love to see little kids playing the same way kids have always played - with cars and trains and babies. (No batteries needed.)
