It's a pity if you can't view today's Sunday Song, as it has a very nice little video to go with it. Anyway, you've got a bonus = you have TWO "thisisme's" today! I know, I know - you can have too much of a good thing. Eeeek!
What else can I talk about today then? Well, poor old Devon has been battered by storm force winds and severe gales all this week, and there are about eighty flood alerts out there at the moment. The following photo is of our outdoor Lido on Plymouth Hoe, and, as you can see, the sea has come right over the top of it. You can just about see the tall fountain in the middle of the pool, so it will give you some idea of the amount of water that is in there.
I'm sure that my American friends will be thinking that we British talk about the weather an awful lot! Well, yes, we do, I'm afraid. Pretty boring, uh?!
I had the most wonderful e-mail from one of my bloggy friends in America when I woke up this morning. I won't name her, because she might not want me to, but the gist of it was that wouldn't it be good if we could meet up. (Actually, I've just noticed that it was also left as an open comment, so I can tell you that it was Pam from EmptyNester!) That sounds like a pipedream really, doesn't it?! BUT, I have to admit that, although I have never been to America, I am thinking that it would be wonderful if I could get over there and meet some of you. Crikey, I bet that's scared some of you now!! Eeeek!
As I told this friend, I would have to get over there pretty soon, before I become too ancient. Trouble would be, of course, the distances involved. We are such a small island over here, and it's strange to think that you even have different time zones over there. Anyway, food for thought methinks!
Just look at this photo of Eli & Ruby. Apparently, Alison was working in the kitchen, when they came down stairs all dressed up and giggling away. They had raided her wardrobe! I think it's lovely that they have now got to the age when they are really starting to enjoying each other's company, instead of getting upset if one plays with the other's toys!
I'm a bit worried about Eli, that he choose mummy's sparkly hat to wear! Hee Hee! My daughter said it was the way he had put it on, tucking all his hair up underneath.
Here's another one when they were getting ready to go to bed. Note, Ruby is wearing Eli's Thomas the Tank pyjamas, which he has grown out of.
I hope you are all keeping well wherever you are, and taking good care of yourself. See you again soon my friends.
"True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island. To find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing."
Oh, friend, I would love to meet up with you some day! If you should ever come to the US, I would work to try to get to where you are. (And yes, distances here are something else. We can drive 12 hours from here to the northern tip of Texas and still not be out of the state.)
I love the pics- Ruby and Eli are just precious!
I do hope y'all's weather gets better there. It's no fun to be driven indoors by it.
Hallo, dear Thisisme! You would certainly qualify as a "globetrotter" if you attempted to visit all the people who love and adore you around the world. You are blessed with many good friends and I am blessed to have you in my life. I simply can't get over your awful weather over there! I'm hoping the pendulum will soon swing the other way and you will enjoy a prolonged spell with sunny skies and warm temperatures. We need rain very badly here in Central Florida and I do wish you'd send some our way. The children have changed considerably since you last posted a picture of them. I'm so happy to know that they are getting along with each other and putting sibling rivalry on the back burner. Don't be alarmed because Eli chose to wear mum's hat. As I write this comment I am wearing Mrs. Shady's black strapless evening gown! (LOL) I hope you are in good health and good spirits, my dear friend. Blessings and SMOOCHES to you and I wish you and your family a wonderful week ahead!
Ruby and Eli are so cute. I wouldn't worry about Eli wearing the sparkly hat, LOL. My little grandson used to like nothing better than wearing his sisters' dress up feather boa with a purse over his arm! Why should girls have all the fun stuff???
It is great meeting blog friends/followers in person, as I managed to earlier on this year. I hope you get to do just that!
Sounds like a great idea to go to America, but don't forget there are some nice countries in Europe too hint hint :)
And the pics are simply wonderful!
Hello Diane, isn't blogging wonderful, it opens up so many doors! You go girl!
Your photos of Eli and Ruby are adorable, I imagine I can hear them giggling from here.Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thank you for your lovely comments. Love Linda x
any excuse to travel is a good one and what adorable pictures of the kids can't believe how much they have grown
Hi Diane, oooh...love your photo of the rain, although it looks pretty wicked! I am pretty sure all that rain would eventually get on my nerves too! We could use some rain, just a few inches today, and a few one day next week. If you could just gather and store some up...I would even share with Shady!
As for Eli, he just wants to shine! He doesn't know yet that his gorgeous smile, hair, and personality put together is his true shine! The children are so adorable, and, what a way to put a smile on our faces! I watched Ruby's little dance video three times!
May your week bring some dry, fresh weather with mild temperatures and lots of sunshine! Leaving you with a hug.♥
What cute pictures of your little darlings.
I would love for you to visit. I think you should start with VA since that's where so many of your countrymen (women) first visited. hehehe
Been thinking of you in this terrible weather, it is not as bad here, but very heavy rain and wild winds. Yes I think it would be good to meet up with blogging friends.
Hello...my oh my...you are evolving so successfully my dear friend. Your Grandkids are ADORABLE!
If you decide to travel to America...I hope we could meet also.
Do you live that close to the sea? Hop on over from bloggy land to US land and we'll find a way to meet.
Gosh that picture of Plymouth Hoe is scary!
Many thanks for your visit and lovely comments my dear Diane. Your own daughter's wedding flowers were very special, I can still picture them.
There is something so totally luxurious about flowers en masse, I think if I had Elton John's money, I would splash out on flowers too! Much love, Linda x
True friendship multiplies the good and divides the bad - I love that. Love your header. Would love to see you - you are welcome to stay here in GA. And believe me we talk a lot about the weather here. And the grandkids - cute as ever! sandie
Hi, just popped over from Annes blog. I also cannot play Sunday song, my connection is too slow!
You said how do I keep 3 blogs going - the answer is slowly!! I try to keep the two main ones to only once a week (sometimes 10 days or even 12), I am way behind at the moment!! The photodiary I have so far done each day but as that is mainly just photos it is not quite so complicated.
Hope that you are not too wet or flooded at home. Take care Diane
Lovely pictures, they are adorable...
I will say it would be quite lovely to meet you....That would be very fun...and I am sure you would have to take several months as there are so many who would want to see you!!
I hope the weather has been better today!! Hugs
Oh Diane!! I would LOVE to meet you in person! If you came here to the MIDWEST....that would be in the center of the US...and easy for everyone to drive or fly to!! :)
Seriously, even if you only make it to New York City, I'll find a way to get there!
Ah wouldn't that be lovely to meet up with all your bloggy friends. Can imagine so much fun and many laughs...:-) Eli and Ruby are just adorable, cute hats hehe.
I'm so sorry to read of all this dreary weather that causing you so much consternation. Goodness, you have really had a time of it this year with the rain.
You must come over to see us! I would travel to see you anywhere in the USA if I could, but if you came here, it would be even better because I could show you some great places. I have some incentive for you to visit Colorado. We claim to have 300 days of sunshine a year! In reality, it is probably a bit less than that, but not much less.
Love those pics of your darling grandchildren.
If it helps any - I live within 15 minutes of one airport [DULLES] 35 minutes of another [REGAN-NATIONAL] and about 90 minutes from a third [BALTIMORE]. Also within a few hours drive of New York and New Jersey airports. I also offer chauffer service and lodging. giggle
COME TO AMERICA! :) We welcome you. And you know if you come you'll want to see our Nation's Capitol - and who better to show it to you than a hometown girl. ::wink:: [Putting in my bid early, can you tell.]
I know we have talked about me coming to England, but if you're going to beat me across the pond, I'll take it. xoxo Skippy
