Little Poem For You This Sunday ....

A little poem today, which really is self-explanatory! Well, that's January out of the way, and good for that I say! We can now look forward to the days getting a little longer and we're another step forward towards spring, and the hope of new life everywhere.  Onwards and upwards little bloggy friends!

DON'T QUIT

by Edgar A. Guest
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit - rest if you must,
but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow - you may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out - the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - it's when things seem worst,
you must not quit.

How I'm looking forward to the summer, when the little ones can once again have fun in the garden.

How lovely it is to be able to have bunches of tulips in the house once more.  You see, I told you, spring is not too far away!

For all my American friends - enjoy Super Bowl Sunday.  I know what a huge event this is over there, but please don't eat too much. Hee Hee! I know what huge feasts you prepare for this event!!

Enjoy your week ahead.

Hallo, dear Thisisme! Stateside, the famous groundhog came out of his hole yesterday and did not see his shadow. He therefore predicts an early spring in America. I hope spring comes early for you as well. As you know we dread spring here in Florida because it means the start of many months of searing heat, humidity, bugs, snakes, lightning storms and hurricane threat.

Thank you very much for the inspiring poem. Author, salesman and motivator Zig Ziglar, who passed away two months ago, began his career as a door to door salesman. He claimed to have loved the many times when the door was slammed in his face by a potential customer because he viewed it as getting one step closer to finding a customer who would make a purchase. It really helps keep you going when you look at it that way.

Happy Sunday to you, dear friend Thisisme, and have a wonderful week ahead!

Lovely pictures and thoughts, my friend! We never really had winter, and I think we are in spring right now, so I'm thinking our summer is right around the corner.

The tulips are gorgeous! It's wonderful to have those around.

And my husband will be watching the Superbowl for the football, and I will be watching it for the commercials.

That name, Edgar Guest..... My Mother had a poem of his in a frame and hanging on her kitchen wall. How familiar.

What a blessing back yards are. That picture looks so green and serene and such a gorgeous spot for the wee ones
to pay.
You'll have to take another photo with them in the same spot to see how much they have grown.
Love to you Have a blessed Sunday

Dearest Diane,
Thank you so much for your sweet thoughts and beautiful picture of your angels. It still is cold here as well although we have only a couple of times of bit snowfall (haha, I wish at least piles of snow once a winter)

Your tulips are SO gorgeous and I reminisce them in my flower garden whose space turned into my husband's hobby room(^^;)

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

That is such a lovely poem and very appropriate on this cold, dreary Sunday. I woke up to a dusting of snow on the road. I'm off to church shortly, where I know I'll be refreshed anew by the message. Have a blessed Sunday.

Dear Diane, I loved the poem and the cheerful photographs of Ruby and Eli in the green grass. Thank you for the happy super bowl wishes, as you know I am "fasting" so I might just go lay down so that I don't have to watch the commercials of food, food, and more food. Thankfully Richard is cooking some unappealing hot dogs so I can rest. (I also am still down with a virus...so your poem was very needed today!) I won't give up today!

Learned this lesson a long time ago, but it's a nice reminder my friend. ::grin::

Yes, our team isn't in the Bowl, but the food is just as awesome. Started off with "Wings a la' Wallene" some dips, veggies, fruit bowl and red velvet cupcakes.

I ate three of those suckers. Low sodium y'know ::wink::

At least the commercials have been funny and Beyoncé is kicking some patootie on the half time show now.

Hugs and sweet dreams [knowing you are sleeping right now.] xo Skip

Yes, Diane, Spring is on her way, but I for one, do not want to hurry her along. I am enjoying my winter of Paradise. I have a pot of pansies in bloom onboard and every time I stick my nose into the bouquet and get a wiff of spring, I smile and say, "not yet". :)
Blessings for the week ahead,
Rosemary

I am so looking forward to spring. I love the photo of the children. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a quitter but I muddle through somehow!

Hi Thisisme...sorry I'm late AGAIN! But I adored your Sunday poem, I do try to live by the advice it brings.

Most of all I love your photo of the children blowing bubbles! They are so great! And, the daffodils and yellow tulips are so beautiful. Hope your days are filled with sunshine.

We did watch most of the Superbowl, and ate, 'pigs in the blanket', fajitas, and just other junk! We had our little Scooter with us, so he was our food inspiration.

Have a lovely week, see you again!♥
