More Romance..... Well, It's Only Once A Year!

A stranger you were once.
Then, with a gentle look you took my hand.
As our lives engaged,
you lit my life and I held both your hands.
Now that decades have passed,
our souls have indeed become one.
How fortunate we are
that we have found the love so true
that everyone dreams about.

- Laura Veronica Merodio -

Now for something a bit more lighthearted!

"Never go to bed mad -- stay up and fight." - Phyllis Diller.

"I feel like Zsa Zsa Gabor's eighth husband on her wedding night: I know what I'm supposed to do...I just have to figure out a way to make it interesting." - many attributions.

"I love being married. It's so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life." - Rita Rudner.

"There are three kinds of men who do not understand women: Young, old, and middle-aged." - Anonymous (and with good reason).

I hope that all is well with you in your little corner of the world my friends.  Take care.

Dearest Diane,
Oh, you are right; It's Only Once A Year!
How sweet the poem you put at first and the sweet hearts♡♡♡ I've read several times thinking my luck being able to meet my thoughtful husband, hehe.
And also had a lovely smile from the quote of Rita Rudner.
How sweet of you to find these lovely phrases and pictures. Thank you so much for warming my heart a lot, my dear friend.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my sweet friend in England, xoxo Miyako*

Hallo, dear Thisisme! This will be the third Valentine's day that you and I have been bloggy friends. It seems to be one of your favorite holidays and I always enjoy the vintage cards you put on display. The quotes you posted are gems, particularly those that tell the unvarnished truth about the complexities and challenges of loving relationships. In the end we all need to accept one another regardless of our flaws and foibles. That, to me, is the definition of true love. I hope you had a marvy weekend, dear friend Thisisme, and I wish you a safe and happy week ahead!

Top of the morning to you Thisisme! I, too, like your Rita Rudner quote...she's too funny!

My first husband passed away in 1986. It was fourteen years later that I finally re-married, and, I'm so glad I waited that long. Karo and I have been married over 12 yrs now, and he is still the most romantic man I have ever known.
Thank you for the wonderful quotes, and pictures-such a cute tic-tac-toe heart! Hugs!♥

What a lovey love post. Can't beat those old, old valentines with the cherubs and angels. I can't find them in this town I live in but my granddaughter has a shop near her that sells the ageless romantic cards. I just received mine in the mail from her.
Hope you get a trunkload of valentines and here's one from Montana, USA

Hi Diane, Oh how I love this post. Thank you for sharing with all of us. About the charity shops, yes, probably they are like our thrift shops. Thrift shops here are stores where folks have donated items they do not want or need anymore, then the store sells them to other folks for a very low price and that is how we get items for $1. $2. and so on. Hugs, Lu

A sweet and funny post...something for all of us to identify with I think. I think there should be as much laughter in love as there is romance.

Hi Diane! I love the vintage Valentines and the funny quotes. I forgot that sometimes humor is a great way to express what love is really like. Often it's more funny than sentimental and mushy.

I love the quotes! My hubby said to me yesterday, "I'm so glad I married you." My heart was touched. My daughter Sandy was born Feb.18. She is my valentine girl!
