There's Travel In The Air ....

Well my little friends, as you read this, my daughter will be on her way from France once again, and will be staying with us until the 13th March.  It goes without saying that I am really looking forward to seeing her again.  Little Alfred will also be coming, so hopefully it will stay dry so that we can get out for some nice walks.

Eleanor would usually be coming at this time, but she is flying off to India today with the school.  They will be going to the charity where little ones and old people have cataract operations.  She is soooooo excited about the trip.  Me? Well, I shall pray for her safekeeping whilst she is away, and will look forward to hearing all about it when she returns.

Emma said that Alfred was looking very worried yesterday with all the packing that was going on! Do you remember when he sat in my suitcase the last time I was over there, when I was trying to pack to come home again?!

I did go to see that film the other evening, "A Song For Marion."  I was actually really looking forward to seeing it, but I'm afraid I didn't like it much at all, which is unusual.    I saw Quartet a couple of weeks ago, with Dame Maggie Smith, which was also about older people.  Now that film, I really DID enjoy.  I found it tremendously touching.

I don't think there's  much news to tell you about really.  Oh! I have an appointment with a Dermatologist at the Hospital on Monday morning, so fingers crossed he will be able to come up with something to control my skin problem.

I hope you're all taking good care of yourselves my friends and that you will always find something to smile about in your everyday lives.  Bye for now.

Hallo, dear Thisisme! I hope your family from France makes the trip safely and doesn't have to contend with icy roads. Let's hope for a long spell of fair weather during their visit so you can snap lots of pictures of Alfred on his walks. Eleanor is a wonderful girl and I hope you can post pictures taken of her charitable work in India. I'm very sorry to learn that you were disappointed by that movie. I don't tend to like films about old people because they usually dabble in unflattering stereotypes. My dear friend I do hope the dermatologist has some answers for you and that he or she can prescribe a new treatment to give you relief from your discomfort. I have my fingers crossed. Please stay safe and well and I will talk to you again soon. Blessings and smooches!

I think it's about time there are some decent and not stereotypical films about seniors. Have fun wit your family and that cute little Alfred. Sending Kelly prayers for strength and good thoughts.

How nice for you to have your children around. Sorry you didn't care for the movie. I haven't even heard of it. I spend too much time in my mushroom cave.

I do hope the new doctor can help you. That would be so wonderful. Too bad the movie wasn't that good. I'm happy for you that your daughter is visiting. It is such fun to see our families. It is wonderful Eleanor will be learning about this charity work and seeing a different part of the world. I know you will worry. I would like my whole family to stay in a padded room and never leave! (not really, but we mom's do tend to worry)

Hi Diane, your picture of Eleanor in her Dalmatian pj's makes me smile. I hope she has a wonderful experience in India. I'm sure she will come home with an expansive sense of purpose and determination to respond to the needs of people who suffer. This young generation seems to have more of a conscience than mine did. We grew up being asked what we wanted to "be" instead of how we can find ways to heal the world. I hope that your dermatologist is helpful in curing your condition! Sending a hug and lots of positive wishes your way.

I'm smiling at wearing SOCKS for the first time since Christmas--it's winter in the Bahamas this weekend, and I am trying to get warm. Quartet was one of the movies I had looked forward to seeing, but we left before I could get to it. Another one to wait for in DVD!
Have a good weekend.
