Goodbye? Well, never say never, so perhaps Au Revoir ...

My dear little Bloggies - how are you all?  Yes, I know, I have been very remiss in not keeping in touch, so I felt that I really had better write this little note today.

I have been blogging for four years (it might even be a little longer) and, during that time, I have covered all the usual world anniversaries, as well as those anniversaries of my own dear family.  I have covered world tragedies, including the devastation caused by the terrible earthquake in Japan, the equal devastation in New Zealand, the bush fires in Australia, and who could forget that awful shooting of those innocent little children at their school in America.

There have been good times as well, of course, and from my own country's point of view, highlights would have to be the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympic Games which were held in London.

I have told you about my family, my garden, and my travels, and I really do feel that there is not a lot more that I can amuse you with, so, albeit reluctantly, I have decided to end my little scribblings in the Southhamsdarling blog.

I really can't leave until I have said a massive "thank you" to all my wonderful Followers, especially those who used to pop over at every post to leave a comment for me.  You always showed me so much support, encouragement, laughter, affection and, yes, even love, and I will always be grateful for that.  The good thing is that so many of you have become friends with me on my personal facebook page, and we are in touch on virtually a daily basis, which is a lovely way for us to keep our friendship going.

I hope you will notice that I have changed my header for my leaving post, and this is just how my garden looks at the moment.  I thought I would leave you with a few photos of things that have been happening here in heavenly Devon and, yes, we are getting some wonderful sunshine at the moment!

Most of you will know how much I love quotations, so this is how I will end today ...  my wish for all of you is that you keep healthy and keep smiling.  It is, after all, a beautiful world, and we are truly blessed.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES but this photo almost brings tears to my eyes: Only kindness matters

Because kindness matters!!

With much love, from thisisme x

My very best to you! It has been a pleasure watching the children grow and change and learning about your area. I will follow you on FB.

This is an incalculable loss for the blog world, dear friend, as well as for me. Southhamsdarling is and was one of the best blogs in the world and you were and are a world class friend. Those of us who cannot follow your life on Facebook will sorely miss watching your grandchildren grow along with your English garden and seeing the latest pictures of Alfred.

"Onward and upward," you always reminded us, but this time you have given me a mountain. I will miss you, my dear friend. If the blogging bug ever again bites you then please don't hesitate to return to this blogspot and carry on your work spreading cheer to me and others around the globe.

Thank you for the years of friendship you have given me, dear friend Thisisme. I wish you and your lovely family happiness and good health today and in all your tomorrows.

Hallo, dear Thisisme, and goodbye.

I like the title to your post - especially the part "never say never". Maybe you could use your blog as an occasional outlet, covering the special occasions in your life. I once felt compelled to blog at least once per week, but now I just do it when the mood strikes me! But I'm so happy we can keep up on Facebook. I would miss you terribly my twin friend!

Hi Diane,
I love the header picture of your garden, it looks stunning. And I know how much you love the sun, and hope you'll get plenty of it!! I will follow you on Facebook :-)

Enjoy your weekend my friend, big hugs xo

I was sorry to read this, although I have closed my blog as well, so I understand. I do hope you will come back after some time off as your blog touches so many.

I understand, but I know your writing will be missed so many. I'm glad we are Facebook friends so I can still keep in touch with you. (I love that last picture of little Ruby.) I feel like I know you and your family from the stories and pictures you've shared.
See on Facebook!

Dear Diane,

Wow!

I’ve come and gone - but always left the back door open - I hope you will do the same; I will leave you on my blog roll in hopes I may find you at the top of it again.

I want to thank you, most sincerely, Diane, for your support, particularly in my early blogging days with the A-Z Challenge, where your comments, and encouragement, were food for my hungry soul. Your kind and thoughtful words gave me the drive to continue writing (even when I went on one of my galactic voyages) and for that you will always have a special place in my heart.

Whatever life holds for you, may it be of stuff that keeps you smiling; makes you look to the sun and lets you bask in its warmth while hearing the laughter of those adorable grandchildren as the play in your ever changing garden.

I will miss you…

Jenny

Diane, in the beginning, I posted three times a week. A year ago, it was once a week. Then, every three weeks. Now, life is so busy, internet where I am is soooo slow, and "what else is there to say?" It's been over five weeks since my last post. I understand your situation, as it is about the same as mine. FB will do, as we keep in touch there, right? Blessings as you move on and live a full, beautiful life.

Hi Thisisme. Gosh, I was hoping you would at least agree to come by blogland once a month with a new photo and say hello. We will all miss you and your lovely quotes, funny quotes, and wonderful photos of your dear Devon and family.

I stole you off of another blog, you know, and have never regretted it, hehee!

I'm grateful for your friendship, and I am so thankful you are on facebook. I have a small amount of 'me' time before I go to work, so I do enjoy your beach scenes with my coffee. Hugs a-plenty to you, dear friend. See you soon! ♥

Oh Diane, I shall go over to fb and follow you there. I have enjoyed your posts while I have been following you and today when your site came up I said "oh, good, she's back". But never mind, I do think that some things are only for a season and maybe that is what has happened for you. I shall miss your posts.

blessings,
Diana

I will miss you so much! It has been pure joy to read your blog. I never would have "met" you if not for the blog. God bless you, Diane. I'll see you on FB, I hope.

I completely understand closing the curtain, but really, it makes me a bit sad. I owe you heaps of gratitude and love for all the years you wrote cheerful, enlightening, funny and heartwarming posts, and then took the time to comment on my blog. Your friendship is a gift and I appreciate you so much, here and on fb. It seems like blogger has become a lost, primitive island, but I'm still hanging around there until I get that undeniable feeling that it's time. We know these things intuitively. Abundant blessings to you and your beautiful family.

NOOOOOOOOO I am so sad to read this. Even though we keep in touch in other media, I do so enjoy your blog. I hope you might reconsider and just come back now and then. IT's such a great way to record your family's growth and happiness and what all.
Oh Diane, I truly will miss this blog, when I read you were saying good bye I got tears in my eyes. Very selfish of me, I know you are so busy but dear friend I do love your blog.

Big hugs and I'll see you on FB in a bit xoxox Sush

I'm in the process of Au Revoir as well. Some reason are the same as yours. I am writing a blog that is strictly a journal for me at this point. Once upon a time I would have done it on paper but the keyboard is such a good fit anymore.

I will look for you on Facebook and Pinterest, and I will always, always wish you well.

Dear Diane
I have been remiss most of the summer too. I thought I'd pop in on a few of my favorite friends and I find this farewell post. I'm sure I will return in the autumn but I can't sit at the computer for any length of time in the summer. It has been my pleasure to get to know lovely you and your lovely family. Your garden is a fairy dream come true.

Good luck with all your adventures and may all your
wishes come true.

Say it ain't so!! I really do not spend more than a very few minutes on FB!! I do, of course, always check out your posts, even if I don't comment. Missing you in Blog Land!

Oh NO! I have been away from blogging and just when I came up for air in our crazy, hectic life...I decided to come visit my blogging friends and am sorry to report so many have either stopped blogging (leaving a farewell message) or simply stopped leaving no explanation. I feel so sad. I will look up your facebook and stay connected that way...because, despite my lack of blogging, I would be very sad to lose touch! Big hugs...
