Just One Word - Kindness

Just a simple little post today, from me to you, and it features one of my favourite words .... KINDNESS.

We need more kindness in the world today, and, yes, gentleness and respect. We need far less hate and aggression.  Less pulling people down, and more building people up.

The quotes today are all courtesy of Pinterest. I came across this Interview with Roald Dahl, and I couldn't agree with him more....

"I think kindness is my number one attribute in a human being.  I'll put it before any of the things like courage or bravery or generosity, or anything else."

Interviewer.. "or brains even?"

"Oh, gosh, yes.  Brains is one of the least. You can be a lovely person without brains, absolutely lovely. Kindness - that simple word.  To be kind - it covers everything, in my mind.  If you're kind, that's it."

Perhaps you might have your own favourite word as to how life should be lived ....but, to my mind, if you're kind, you care for others, you love, you have empathy, you have generosity of spirit, and you want the very best for that other person.

May you be surrounded by kindness as you go through your week ❤️

It's great to see you here today, Thisisme! I'm always happy to see another smiling beauty! This morning Scooter and I delivered some items, such as baby foods, and, cleaning supplies, to his school for the hurricane victims. His school is taking in items this week and they will deliver them to various shelters and churches for transport to the affected areas. We have more to deliver when I pick him up this afternoon. I just feel so bad and want to help in some way.

You know, I see more kindness these past few months than I used to see. Maybe it is me! Even when I encounter a grouch, I am kind, and-sometimes it works, sometimes not! Either way, it is so well worth my time to be kind, because I feel better too! I like the way you put it, meaning, that kindness is just about having it all in our hearts! You picked some very nice quotes, Thisisme-beautiful post. Have a wonderful week! ♥

Hello Suzanne, my Texan friend. I can imagine how you feel about those poor Hurricane Victims. I feel so desperately sorry for all those affected. Some of whom have lost virtually everything. It is events like this that really do bring out the very best of people and communities. I'm so glad that Scooter's school is providing so much help. The sad thing is that, for all those affected, it will take months and months before they can get back to some sort of normality. I agree, every little act of kindness that we show to others, also helps us to feel
Better too. Take care my friend. Hugs ❤️

You could see a great example of kindness in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. When the going gets tough, kindness starts to show. Too bad it doesn't show itself like that every day! Great post my awesome and kind friend ❤️

Hi there BeeBee. Always good to see you here ❤️ You're right, whenever there is a crisis of any kind, people and communities come together and show great kindness to others. We just need to keep that going all the time. Thank you for popping over to leave a comment.

Another wonderful post , We have to have kindness in our lives , whether we give it or it is given to us. As you know I have had a lot of kindness shown to me by guests at the Bed and Breakfast , which is fab. Also by people around the world , like a few weeks ago with a little care package sent from Texas.. :-) samples of a fabulous face cream , we cannot get it here. I love your quotes too. take care xx
