Sunday 13 January 2019

Sunday, Sunday....

Hello..... It’s me!  How are you all on this January Sunday?  The celebrations are all over once again, and it’s time to get back to the nitty gritty of life.  Just a short Post today, but I thought I would  drop in at the beginning of 2019, to wish you well for the year ahead.

Who knows what the year ahead will hold for any of us.  Being now in my 70’s, apart from wishing happiness for my little family, I tend to pray that I will remain in good health. Whenever I’m out on my walks, I never take anything for granted.  I always look around, take in the beauty around me, and be thankful that I can still enjoy those moments.

I’m sure this new year will bring the usual share of ups and downs. Hopefully, we will have many joyful moments, but the disappointments will be there as well. Sometimes it’s really hard to deal with those disappointments, and we struggle to see the wood for the trees (I think that’s how the saying goes!).  It is at times like that, we have to try to remember what we DO have in our lives, and try to carry on the best way we know how.

So I’ll leave you again for now, in the hope that this year - no matter how it might have started - will be a good one for all of us. See you again soon ❤️

Beautiful post. My mind has always tended toward the negative. I have been training my thoughts towards the positive for a few years now and feel so much better. May God be with us all this year through the hills and valleys.

So lovely to see you here, Belle. I’m so glad that you have been able to alter your mindset and try to look for the positives. It’s not easy, sometimes, and I am well aware of that. As you say, we must pray for God’s blessings, especially in these troubled times. Hope you and the family are keeping well

I live my life like a log in the lake, I drift along bumping into things along the way and just going with the flow

Hi Jo-Anne - I love your analogy of the log in a lake! That’s all we can do, is go with the flow! Happy New Year to you 😊

Hi Thisisme! Today's January is pretty in Texas, cool, but the sun is shining! I enjoyed your post and positive quotes! I'm banking on a better year in 2019!
I especially like your quote about not being able to control everything-it's the truth! And, I have learned to let some of those things go to work themselves out! Most of the time, that does happen, much to my relief! Most of us try to stay strong when life hiccups in our faces! And, I guess that is part of our survival in this ever changing world.

Have a wonderful week, dear friend! I hope your weather remains in a mild state. My mother and sister in Kansas got over a foot of snow, and I think there are predictions for more. Hugs to you, Thisisme! ♥

Hi Suzanne. There you are!! 😊. You’re right of course, things usually do work themselves out. I certainly try not to worry about things so much now - I think that could be something to do with getting older! We realise that life really is too short. I do hope that your mum and sister are coping okay with all that snow. Brrrrr! Let’s hope it will be a good year for both of us, my Texan friend, and also our families. Take care - sending hugs from Devon to Texas! 😊😊

Hello dear friend ... I am hoping for a very positive year ...but as you say "who knows what lies ahead for us ." Life is sailing by ,, must be because I am older I just take each day at a time .. And each season , even though I'm not a huge fan of winter, if I can't get out and about .. (it is on its way)

Who knew that I would be living all the way up here ... away from my son's .. it is like being in a whole different world haha my saving grace is that I have the beaches , keeps me sane . I volunteer 2/3 times a week , doesn't bring pennies in , but super people and gets me out .. so who knows what is around the corner. Keep safe and healthy dear friend .. thank you for all your support xx

Hello Anne! So sorry, I've only just seen this comment of yours. As you say, who thought you would be living up there, but I'm glad you're near the coast and are able to collect your lovely sea glass. I really do hope that the year will be a good one for you. You certainly deserve it after all you've been through. I'm glad they are lovely people where you volunteer. Makes such a difference. Life certainly is flying by, and certainly when you're my age. It's a bit frightening really. As you say, we must try to keep healthy. Have a lovely week my friend xx
