At the beginning of this year, I decided to start writing a Journal - for the first time ever. Quite ironic really, as I thought I would be filling it with lovely memories of times spent with family and friends, walking the coastal paths here in the beautiful South Hams of Devon, out for lunches, watching interesting films at the cinema, etc etc. Never mind, I’m still filling the pages every day - some pages are shorter than others! Still, if nothing else, hopefully all this will have taught us what is truly important in our lives - love, family and friendship. As an only child, my female friendships have always been very important to me, and even more so once the children had moved out, and I moved on to the next stage of my life.
I always feel that I should apologise to my Facebook friends, as sometimes they have already seen pictures that I post on my Blog. Oh well! Here are some images of my favourite places nearby. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I am able to visit them again.
So then, no exciting news, but I thought I would just pop in to say Hello and wish you all well.

Your gorgeous scenery was a welcome virtual adventure. I agree completely with you, even the so called experts are winging it. You are fortunate to have a garden. Still way too cold in middle America. I am writing poetry and submitting to a university featuring weekday Life line poems for poetry month.
I write in my diary every day some days it's a lot most days its not but there is rarely anything that is really interesting.
Thank you Linda! It's always lovely to see you here 😊. We are certainly living in strange and uncertain times. I'm sure you're missing your three little boys, as you used to see a lot of them. I'm missing mine as well. It's hard. I'm trying to keep myself busy, with different little hobbies. But sometimes I do very little and just faff around all day. But that's okay! Good luck with your writing (poetry) submissions.
Hi Jo-Anne. I did smile at your comment. Well, I doubt that the contents of my Journal are going to set the world alight!! Keep safe over there.
Hi Thisisme! I'm sorry to be so lagging in my blog reading lately. I do so much reading and responding with Shawn for school tasks, then read myself to sleep a night. I really enjoyed your post, your photos are the best and I never get tired of seeing them. Yours is a world I only dream of, and cannot imagine living in. I do, however, have a few rose bushes that have graced me with lovely blooms this Spring, and Iris that are blooming daily! It's funny, but...I was lazy and did not throw away one of my Halloween pumpkins, and the seeds have sprouted from the ground into fine healthy plants. Shawn and I are hoping for a few of our own home grown pumpkins later on!
The mayor of our city, who happens to be a woman, YAY, announced yesterday that we are not required to wear masks everywhere we go. The Dallas county mayor has required the citizens to wear masks effective today (Saturday). I have masks on order and told Shawn that we should wear them to shop for groceries, and in crowded public places. I had to make us masks from handkerchiefs and bandannas because there is such a shortage of the masks. My order is late in arriving, and I hope it comes in a few days. I will send some to my family in Kansas when I get them.
Thank you Thisisme for your wonderful outlook and inspiration. I hope your journal gets filled with wonderful things, even though some days may be short. Have a wonderful week, and take care...sending hugs! ♥
Hi there Suzanne. I’m late in replying, I know! The days are all so weird at the moment. Sometimes I just faff around and do very little indeed. Other times I do try to keep myself busy. It must be so different for you though, looking after Shawn every day, and trying to do the home-schooling. I really admire you for this, Suzanne. There’s a real thing about masks over here at the moment. Anyway, I e ordered a few and I will wear the, if I’m in a crowded place. To be honest though, so far I have been completely self isolating. I miss seeing my family and friends, and I’m certainly missing my walks. Oh well, i guess the important thing is for us to stay safe. I do think life is going to be rather different for quite some time to come. Thinking of you and sending hugs. ❤️😷. Please take care my Texan friend x
Finally I am catching up on reading blogs. Had been lagging far, far behind. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos. Just hope you are doing well and keeping safe.
Hi Lili! Good to see you, and I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. These are very strange times! Look after yourself, and keep safe.
