I had a lovely day off yesterday, thanks to Bouncin'Barb http://bouncinbarbs.blogspot.com/ who very kindly came along to Devon to write a guest post for me. In fact, I spent the day looking after my one year old granddaughter, who kept me on my toes all day!
So, before I say anything else, I must say a very big "THANK YOU" to Barb, for coming up with such an awesome post (she knows how I love that word). She is certainly a very hard act to follow. I can see by all the lovely comments you posted, just how much you enjoyed reading her advice to her two granddaughters, and, my goodness, what sound advice it was.
As several of you said, it could be of help to all of us adults, as well as her two delightful granddaughters. Certainly, I am going to print off a copy so that I can show my grandchildren.
It would be rather sweet if I could have a guest blogger say, once a month, but until that time, you're stuck with me again, I'm afraid!
One of my friends was on holiday in America recently, and whilst boarding an internal flight, she noticed the order in which the passengers were called. They didn't ask for women and children to board first, but serving members of the Armed Forces. She said that those men and women were treated with the utmost respect by both the airline staff and the passengers, as is befitting of those who are prepared to lay down their lives for their country.

I couldn't help thinking that wouldn't it be a wonderful idea if we adopted the same principle here in the United Kingdom.
