Another Weekend!

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
—Howard Thurman(1899-1981); Author, Philosopher, Theologian, Educator, Civil Rights Leader.

I borrowed that quote from Chatty Crone If you haven't visited her before, I would recommend her blog to you.  It is a mixture of inspirational quotes, humour and general chitchat.  She makes me smile anyway!

My daughter has been looking at flowers for the wedding and found this wonderful website which is just a few miles from where we live here in Devon.  Look at these gorgeous photoes!

We're just waiting to see if the lady will be available for the date we want in June, so fingers crossed!

Well, I saw the doctor again yesterday, and she confirmed that there is still a lot of crackling on my lungs, so has given me a stronger dose of antibiotics to take during this coming week.

She then went on to say that I wasn't 21 any more, and things take longer to heal at my age.  At my age??!!  I responded with "make me feel good, why don't you!".  LOL!

I absolutely refuse to think of numbers in respect of my age.  I still feel young inside, still like being silly and intend to grow old very disgracefully, and I hope that you will all accompany me on  the journey.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I am so disgraceful, my daughters say they can't take me anywhere! I love the flowers. They remind me of my first wedding. The marriage was a bust, but the flowers were lovely!

Here Here Diane! Good Luck with the florist, her work looks gorgeous. While I am here blog badges/buttons you may or may not have noticed that I have still not resolved the problem with mine. I get so confused with this HTML stuff. Anyway I thought I had better tell you that you button on Becky's site 'Just For Me' does not work either :( Seems we both need Help?!
Have a good weekend and despite the words from your I suspect young doctor, get well quickly.

That's a wonderful quote, Thisisme. Live your life with gusto. Find at least one thing to become passionate about. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm a kid who never grew up and I don't intend to start now. Clearly you have caught wedding fever and I pray that it's the only kind that will grip you from now on. I hope your new meds have you breathing easier very soon, dear friend!

Morning :D
Although it's Saturday I am still Friday blog hopping, there are so many hops on a Friday now I don't know whether I am coming or going. The photos of the wedding flowers look beautiful, it will be interesting to see what flowers there are at the royal wedding too.
Hope you have a great week. Please pop by and say hello if you have a few minutes.

Those flowers are gorgeous. As for growing old disgracefully, that is the only way to do it as far as I am concerned!

Gawgus things - Hear, hear, indeed!!

Belle - I absolutely love that, that your daughters feel they can't take you anywhere!!

LindyLouMac - Thank you. That's a real bummer about our blog buttons. I haven't got a clue as to what to do to sort it out, I'm afraid!

Shady - I'm very much hoping that I will start to feel a lot better during this coming week.

Rumtruffle - lovely of you to pop by and to now be following me. I have paid a visit to your blog and am now following you too!! Yes, I shall be very excited about watching the Royal Wedding in April!

lyndylou - Glad you're with me on the growing old disgracefully bit. Mind you, not that you have to start worrying about that for a LONG time yet!!

beautiful flowers and isn't it funny how doctors remind us that we aren't getting any younger so wrong

Absolutely, hear, hear! (pause for a round of applause)
I'm all for growing old digracefully. There is a fab range of cards called 'Spring Chicken' all with fantastic quotes a propos anti aging. Have a look.
The flowers are gorgeous.
Just read about your blog button eeeek! I'll try again when I get back from la belle France and see if I can rectify it for you. What is going on with these buttons?
I shall be posting while I'm away and reading your posts but not commenting as Hubby flatly refuses to spend an entire day in McDonalds(wifi there but not at house) while I blog away merrily even if I buy him a dozen Mcflurries.
Thank you so much for your last comment...I guess most men turn into 'Grumpies' as they get older...ah well you've got to love them haven't you?
Take care of yourself while I'm away...no relapses please.
Carol XOXOXO

I will be right there with you girl and we are only as old as we feel and hopefully you will feel much younger very soon.

Becca - yes, I know the doctor probably meant well, but .....!!

Facing50Blog.com - Blog Buttons - Eeeek indeed. I don't know what the answer is! I shall certainly look up those Spring Chicken range of cards! The thought of your hubby spending all day in McDonalds did make me smile!! Hopefully by the time you get home, I will be feeling much better again.

Tim, my doctor recently told me my esophagus is old. I am 48! I nearly had a fit. Do take care I am worried about those adventitious{note the use of a big nursing word} lung sounds. ♥O

Southhamsdarling said...

Annie Joy = hopefully it will be an enjoyable journey for both of us!!

Olive Cooper - Gosh, how can you have an old esophagus at only 48?! That is a long word - I googled it!! I'm really hoping that this second course of stronger antibiotics will do the trick. I don;t like feeling like this, especially as it's been three weeks now. Thank you.

Pretty sure none of us needs anyone to tell us we're not 21 anymore. Geesh. I'm right there with you on the aging disgracefully!

Southhamsdarling said...

EmptyNester - Goodo! There will be quite a little band of us growing old disgracefully me thinks!!

It's been a crazy week. I just had the chance to catch up on all your posts. So sorry that you have been so sick - but I'm glad you're feeling better.

Those flowers are BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't even decide what bunch is my favorite. Planning a wedding...How fun!!!

Such gorgeous flowers, especially the arrangement in the stemmed dish. You could put that on my table any day! Sounds like you are perking up some. Just mention that certain age, and you're right back to your young self! Most of the time I still feel as I did in my early 20's. But, I have learned (only slightly) to listen to my body-haven't climbed a tree in a while, but I do still think about it. Anyway, just keep up the good attitude! Have a great week!

Hey you - be sure and take all that medicine and get well quick. The flowers looked wonderful and I hope you get that gal for the wedding.

Take care, sandie♥

Amy - hope you're managing to have a relaxing weekend after your crazy week! Thank you for your good wishes. I think I'm very slowly but surely getting there.

Susan - your comments made me smile! I haven't climbed any trees for a while (!), although with my two year old grandson to play with, I'm sure I will be doing so very soon! LOL! Do hope that your husband is getting a bit better now.

Java - thank you for much for dropping by. Good to meet you, and, yes, I'm following you now.

Chatty Crone - don't worry, I'm making sure that I'm taking all the tablets. They seem to be making me feel very dopey though. (That's dopey as in tired. NOT dopey as in stupid!! Oh, I don't know though!! LOL!
