Poor Me!

First of all, I must apologize, as I am way behind with commenting on my friends' blogs!  I have a terrible cold with a hacking cough and I don't really feel up to blogging at the moment :(

On top of that, my husband, who is in charge of our oil tank, didn't realize that it was empty (I'm saying nothing!!), so there is no heating in the house at the moment.  Although before he went off to his meetings this morning, he did turn on the two electric heaters in our sun room, so I'm warm enough as I type this little note to you.

Did I say sun room?!  As I'm looking out of the windows the rain is pouring down and I can't see across the fields for the mist that has enveloped everything.

When I finish this, I'm going to make a cup of coffee, eat a couple of cakes and read some more of my book.  (I know how to enjoy myself!!).

Strangely enough, my book is called Separate Beds (by Elizabeth Buchan), so perhaps it is trying to tell me something. LOL!

I wasn't really going to write a post today, because I have to admit that I am struggling with something interesting to say ("yes, we can see that" , I hear you all cry!).  But my lovely blogging friend, Mskanorado at A Perfect Dose of Life has awarded me The Life is Good Award.  Thank you so much for that Mskanorado - please do pop over and visit her blog and say "hi".  She is a lovely young lady, and I'm sure that you will all enjoy her very interesting blog.

I hope she doesn't mind if I take a bit of a twist on this one, because I have answered these particular five questions before.  As the Award is called the Life is Good Award, I thought that tomorrow I would make a list of why life is, indeed, good for me.

I will try to look at a few blogs now before I have that cup of coffee, but please forgive me if I don't get around to yours today!

Sorry you are not feeling well and to have a cold house too is not a good start to a day. Congratulations on the award and hope you feel better soon.

Thisisme, this is something that I was going to address in a separate blog post of my own. Blogging is a wonderful experience but we can't let ourselves become consumed by it. Please don't feel pressured to come up with a brilliant post each and every day. I am on a three day publishing rotation and even that is a challenge because my posts are labor intensive and I also want to make time to visit and comment on my friends' blogs. You can see where it leads, can't you? The more friends we welcome into our world the more time it takes to make the daily rounds and service all of our accounts. The carousel that we are all riding is spinning ever faster and we all need to give ourselves and each other permission to jump off once in a while. There must be a limit to it or we'll all go bonkers! With that I will wish you a speedy recovery from your cold and let you know that you are never under any obligation to read or comment on my blog. Please understand if there are days when I am simply too busy to visit yours. It in no way reflects upon the quality of your work or the degree of my commitment to our friendship. Stay warm and get well soon, dear Thisisme!

Lady you just go try and be warm and take care of that cold. Not a good mix.

I know what "blog block" is - especially because nothing ever interesting happens here [kind of have to GO OUT of the house to have something to write about] but no worries, we are here.

You are always so entertaining - even without heat AND a cold. We're here - and thinking of you.

Be well soon

Oh Thisisme Im so sorry to hear your not feeling well. May the lord touch and heal you this day. May your oil be filled before the end of the day. Nothing worse than being cold when one doesnt feel well. Congrats on your award. Pray this day improves for you in that fact taht you feel better and that the sun would give way to a burst of sunshine. Blessings

Awe I hope you feel better soon! We were without heat for four days because our fuel ran out. We did get an electric heater though, but Boyfriend, the dog and myself had a hard time fitting around the thing to keep warm.

Stay warm, enjoy your book and cake (have some more cake!) and get well soon! Thank you for all you bring to my world; part of that is knowing that you are living well and enjoying yourself in the "real" world! Lots of love, Annie

So sorry to hear you have the cough. I know it's awful!

Enjoy your day of sitting and watching the rain while you read. My husband likes to call those kinds of days, "Lady's Day."

I am also sorry to hear you are sick. Sometimes I find it hard or impossible to keep up with my friend's blogs when I have a busy day, so no worries. I hope you are well soon.

Shady - what a very wise and thought out reply. As you say, the more friends we gain, the harder it is to keep on top of things! I do appreciate how labour intensive your blog posts are. Thank you for being so understanding my dear friend.

SkippyMom - I appreciate that it must be very difficult for you, as you don't go out so much. I think the thing to hang on to is that we are here for each other, no matter how often we blog.

Bethe77 - thank you so much for your lovely wishes.

Jumble Mash - it's surprising how cold the house gets when the oil runs out, isn't it?

Gawgus things - thank you!

Annie Joy - thank you for those lovely words.

lyndylou - :( Sorry to hear that you are under the weather also. Get well soon!

Amy = I've had a good lady's day!

Belle - thank you dear friend. I'm glad that I'm not the only one finding it difficult to keep up!

I sure do hope that you get better soon and that the oil is replaced ASAP!

I also want to reiterate Shady Del Knight said; please don't worry about blogging every day and please don't think you have to reply to all of my comments! Let blogging be fun, not a burden!

Sending you my very best get well wishes,
Natasha.

Hi Thisisme! I'm sorry you're under the weather, but glad you were able to share today. And the dreaded rain doesn't help any, I know. Congratulations on your award-you'll be chipper soon!

so sorry that you are sick! i hope that by the time you read this that you are feeling better. we've been doing pretty good (knock on wood) with "bugs" around here. Since Ron has had fewer doctor appts lately, not as much exposure to other people's illnesses.
