Well, my little bloggy friends, hot off the press, I can tell you that there's going to be a wedding in the family, so we are all very excited.
My youngest daughter (the one with the two little ones) will be getting married on the 11th June. The final arrangements were put in place yesterday. It will only be a small, intimate affair, with family and a few close friends.
They will be pledging their love for each other at Dartington Hall, which is a lovely medieval group of buildings just 20 minutes from where we live. They have picked that particular location because it really means something to them, as they visit quite a lot to stroll around the magnificent gardens.
It would be wonderful if the sun shone on the day, so that we can relax with a glass of champagne whilst strolling around the grounds.
They will then be returning to our home for the reception, provided by outside Caterers. It is so expensive these days to have a reception anywhere decent. Most places were quoting over £1,000 to provide a meal for twenty people, which my daughter really objected to!
The daughter and her partner are not materialistic in any way, much preferring the simpler things of life. So we shall try to do something a bit special back here and have lots of flowers and champagne! We will look into hiring a Marquee to put up in the garden in case we have a typically British summer's day. They have a friend who will provide music for the evening so that there can be some dancing, so I'm sure it will be a lovely, relaxing day.
Well, I guess that this has turned out to be another romantic post!!

Your daughter sounds like a lovely woman and the wedding really seems like a perfect fit.
I wish them all the best and [to be a lil' wishful] I hope they let you share with us! I LOVE weddings.
Ahhh, how lovely. The consumption of champagne seems to appear a lot in this post - is there something you need to tell us?!
Congratulations!! How exciting - a wedding. Something lovely to look forward to.... Sounds like you need a new frock!!!
SkippyMom - thank you for sharing in our excitement. It was so lovely to see her face yesterday. She was SO happy!!
Gawgus-things - I hadn't realized that I had mentioned champagne more than once! We had better put an order in to France, me thinks!
Just Martha - Gosh, I was so busy thinking about other things, that I had completely forgotten about a new frock for ME!!! Thank you for reminding me!
A lovely couple and I so hope that you have plenty of sun that day to make it special.

Well, that surely beats a wedding chapel in Vegas presided over by an Elvis impersonator! That spot is breathtaking - an absolutely beautiful setting that will be perfect for a wedding if only the weather cooperates. I hope all goes as planned. They make a lovely couple, Thisisme!
Becca - thank you so much for those good wishes.
Shady - Well, I did suggest the Elvis impersonator to them, but they showed no interest in that idea whatsoever. (LOL!).
Love weddings! I love the smaller ones but... weddings are always so fitting espeailly in June! The weather is alwasy so beautiful then. The place they have chosen looks lovely. I love the gardens there. Yes I think a stroll in the gardens with a glass of champange will be lovely. I agree on having a more inmate reception at your home is a great idea. Your daughter and her husband to be are a darling couple. It will be fun to see what you post as the perations begin on this specail day. May you have a blessed day.
That is wonderful news This. How exciting for your family. Sounds like a great place and will be a great reception afterwards. My wedding had 35 people and it was so special because we got to mingle with everyone. That's what I like. Small, intimate and full of happiness.

Oh I LOVE LOVE! My goodness! Congrats to your daughter! How exciting for you! :) Yay! SO exciting! So many weddings going on around! :)
Your daughter is so beautiful, and her young man is quite handsome. The wedding sounds lovely. What a great event to look forward to!
Congratulations, future mother-in-law! The venue is absolutely gorgeous. How brave of you to have the reception at your home! I think you are quite smart to be looking into hiring a marquee. In the past two years, I have been to two outdoor weddings. One guess what happened at both. Yup, rain!
mskanarado - YES, lots of excitement going round!
Belle - thank you so much. Yes, it is wonderful to have something happy and positive to look forward to!
On My Soapbox - Yes, I think I'm brave as well, but we've got enough room, and quite a large garden as long as the sun shines! Will certainly have to get hold of a Marquee though. Thank you for popping over.
What absolutely fabulous news. We are attending a wedding in the UK the weekend before so lets us both hope for an extended spell of beautiful June weather. Thanks for your recent messages to which I am in the process of replying to direct.
