Thought For The Day

I don't want to brag, or make anyone jealous or anything.

But I can still fit into the earrings that I wore at High School.

My husband is going into hospital today to have his first cataract removed, so I'm hoping that the procedure will go well.  It's been pretty miserable for him over these past few months, but he hasn't complained at all.

My only worry is that he has probably been seeing me like this

Whereas tomorrow he will be seeing me like this.  Oh dear, this doesn't bode well!

A few days ago, I was tagged by one of my newer friends, Karen over at puppykisses, so I will be answering her survey questions tomorrow.  Please pop over and pay her a visit.  She is new to blogging and I'm sure we can all remember how lovely it is to have the support of other bloggies when you are first starting out.

Sincerest thoughts for your husband...you know how squeamish I am at the thought of eyes. I'm sure you'll look even more lovely when he can see you properly...just give him a gin and tonic :)
I'd probably have bought a funny rubber mask to wear as a joke to surprise him when he gets in.
Glad you are up and about at last. Another entertaining post and love the cartoons especially the first one...I thought I was looking into a mirror when I saw it :)
I shall definitely pop by 'puppykisses'...it's awful when you first start blogging. You think you are a lone voice.Hugs to you both.

I can relate, Thisisme. I have a "friend" named Daisy who can still fit into her high school earrings. (LOL) I hope your husband's operation is a success. Fear not because you are beautiful inside and out and I'm sure he already sees that. Cheers!

Wishing your husband all the best, I hear these cataract ops are really brilliant and some people no longer need glasses afterwards. I guess you must be feeling at least a little better as you are still producing humorous posts. :)

Hope everything goes ok with the hubby and I hope you are finally starting to feel better :)

Ann- I think that's quite impressive if you have a pair of shoes that still fit!! Lovely to see you here.

Bethe77 - So glad you had a laugh today. Happy Birthday to you!!

Daydream Living - thank you so much for becoming my follower number 66 and hope you have a wonderful break.

Facing50Blog.com - Loved the bit about the gin & tonic (or 3 perhaps?!). Funny, but I thought the same thing as you when I first saw that little cartoon at the beginning of this post. Eeeek! It's like looking in a mirror!

Gawgus things - thank you. Still struggling, I'm afraid, and this cough is just going on and on. I feel completely worn out by it!

Becky - thank you.

Odie = that's okay. I checked earlier today and see that she has gained a couple of my lovely friends already!!

Shady - I did have a laugh with Daisy!! (Remembering that earlier post);

LindyLouMac = if I could finally get rid of this (still) hacking cough, I would be a happy bunny indeed. It's the disturbed nights that's the killer.

lyndylou - thank you!

Tanya (A Taste of T) - Aaaaw! that was such a sweet comment.

Becca - thank you SO much.

I think it's going to be the other way around. He's going to see just how beautiful you are and that he has missed it! Be prepared for the tiger, tigress lady!!

I hope everything goes well with the cataract removal. My brother-in-law had his done a few weeks ago and had a little eyelid lift also. (They were drooping and affecting his vision.) Loved the pictures, but I am sure that you are still beautiful (don't forget, we've seen photos of you!). Anyway, love involves being able to see beneath the surface, doesn't it? (I'm counting on that for my future with my guy!) Annie

You really made me laugh today! My mom had her cataracts taken off and she is so happy about her eyesight. I thought I was following Odie's daughter's blog, but I must have goofed up, I'll go see again.

Hey...hope you're feeling better...And I'm sure that the surgery will go fine, and he'll have a beautiful wife waiting for him....*hug*

I'm sorry to hear that your hubby has to endure eye surgery. He sounds like a solid, dependable, kind man who cares and loves you very much. I wouldn't worry about his new vision affecting how he sees you...because you absolutely shine, inside and out. You have a way of lifting your readers up through your humorous, beautiful writing. I'm sure that in person, the affect is greatly multiplied!

Loved the line about your high school earrings still fitting.

Hope your hubby's surgery goes well. Sending good thoughts your way.

Guess you'll have to pick him up after surgery with just your perfect fitting earrings on. He won't notice anything else.

Thanks for the laughs. Good luck on his recovery.

I hope that your Hubbie's eye has settled down since his op .. I don't know what it is .. but this is the third cataract op I have heard about .. my cousin in Italy and my Step-father and now you hubby.. Sending best wishes to you both :-)

Anne in Oxfordshire - as you say, that's strange, all those cataract ops that you are hearing of. Thankfully, my husband is thrilled to bits, as he can now see clearly out of at least one eye. He goes back again to have the other one done in twelve weeks.
