Wedding Preparations!

Wedding preparations are well in hand!  The marquee has been ordered and the outside catering has been booked.  We have chosen a very local company called "Amazing Taste" and they source all the food from around our region, so this was a big plus for us.

An order has been put in to supply the champagne from  France (i.e. my daughter and son-in-law!).

My daughter went up to view the venue this morning, and she was really thrilled with it.  It has been raining hard all day again here in deepest Devon (it does stop sometimes - honestly!) but, apparently, when she was actually in the wedding room, the sun came out for a brief moment and the whole room was bathed in sunshine.  Good omen?  Let's hope so dear bloggy friends.

The room where the ceremony will take place.

YAY! It is going to be an exciting year.

I am doubly excited because two of my favorite bloggers are planning weddings [you and Life in the Mom Lane] and it is going to be so much fun to be "in" on the preparations. So neat.

The room for the ceremony is gorgeous.

This reminds me the Beatles song lyrics, Thisisme:

Sitting in an English garden
waiting for the sun.
If the sun don't come
you get a tan from
standing in the English rain.

I hope the weather is fine on the big day because this venue looks marevlous. I'm sorry it's still dreary in Devonshire and I hope you are on the mend regardless. Cheers!

The room is amazing! Weddings will always bring out the sunshine even in the rain.
Are you feeling better Thisisme?
Tis raining here today in Portland as well and will be for the next ten days. Maybe we can have a ray of sunshine sent out from the wedding planning. Blessings

Seems like you are well on the way to organising the Big Day, Venue looks beautiful, the weather you just have to cross your fingers on [it is England after all] and food seems well chosen. Did you get the caterers to invite you to a "Sample tasting"? When The Daughter got married the in-laws, the couple and us got a beautiful sample tasting dinner at the venue - it was fabulous held in a private dining room. It made us feel so confident that the food would be superb on the day - and it was. I am sure you will have a great selection of fresh flowers but one piece of advice, do select low displays for the centre of the tables as guests do like to talk and see each other at the same time and some displays do dominate! Most of all make sure everyone is happy with the guest list. The Daughter said right at the beginning that she wanted friends and family members that she knew, people who had been part of her life not distant relatives invited out of duty or in case they might be offended if they weren't invited. We all agreed with her and it led to an extremely happy affair. Good luck and don't get stressed!
