Before and After :(

Hi my little bloggy friends.  You might remember that a few days ago, I mentioned that my grandson might be getting his hair cut.  Well that very evening, his daddy did, in fact, cut it!  My daughter was upstairs and when she came down, he had already cut a few layers up above little Eli's ears.  She was horrified at how short he was going to cut it.  Thank goodness she came down when she did!

Anyway, here we have the before

Here is my little boy after the hair cut :(  I know it could have been worse, but I still loved his lovely, long blond hair!

Part of me feels really sad!!

I know you're disappointed, but I like his haircut. He looks ready for school! (He has beautiful hair - or should I say handsome hair?)

Wow - his Daddy did a pretty good job This. It isn't as short as I thought it would be at all. And maybe it grow back in at no time at all.

He still looks like a baby boy - I honestly thought it was going to be a hatchet job. Whew.

And his smile is just precious. What a face with those chubby cheeks. Sweet.

It looks fine, Thisisme, and even if it didn't it will grow back. Eli's a very cute boy - a Rod Stewart in the making, I'd say! Good night, dear friend!

I was expecting his hair to be shorter, however, I love his long hair- a lot of little boys can't pull off the longer hair but he definitely can!!! - it will be back to long in no time!

Eli looks wonderful! I know what you mean about long hair on boys though. I've always loved that.

Oh, this brought back some memories. My youngest son had beautiful long, brown curls when he was Eli's age. I went to the grocery store one day and came home to see his father had cut off all of his beautiful baby curls. I sobbed, scooped one up off the floor and have it still.

I love the quote you use. Eli is a handsome boy. That is for sure.

Dear Lady,
I love to see his cute picture in your blog no matter how his hair style is.
But I can understand poor granma's feeling (^^;)
And I really love your quate as well, SO fitting♬♬♬

he's such a doll - with or without his curls. Ron cut keith's hair without me (the first time) and I caught up with him after the poor kid was shaved bald-headed. I was furious! all he had left was a little spot on top and only because Ron was teasing me with his hair.

He's a little charmer. So handsome - no matter how long or short his hair.

I do not feel ELI could look bad even if his beautiful locks were all shaved off. He is just too adorable and quite the young man now. Hope he will like the new adventures at school.

Grammy Goodwill - I tell him he's beautiful! Bit too young to say handsome yet I think! He's only 3, so it's only pre-school, but his daddy didn't want him going along, with people thinking that he was a little girl!!

SkippyMom - yes, I was expecting it to be much worse after my daughter's text, I must admit! Phew indeed!!

Shady - thank you dear friend. I expect I caught you on the hop, posting late in the evening like that!!

Bethe - Yes, they grow TOO quickly. They're not babies for very long these days. I'm sure you must miss your grandchildren when you're away from them.

Kristina - I see you're with me on the long hair! :( Lovely to see you here today.

Becca - yes, I'm so relieved it's not any shorter as well. Just imagine if his daddy had kept on cutting! :(

Belle - little boys just look so cute with their long hair, don't they?! Oh well!

Retired English Teacher - Oh my, I can just imagine you sobbing when you came home and found all his locks cut off. It must have been such a shock for you! Funny how the men wait until we're out of the way before they start cutting, isn't it?!

Orchid - thank you my Japanese friend! I must admit, after speaking to my daughter, I expected it to be much, much shorter, so I can just about cope with this> Hee Hee!

Teresa - Oh, I can't believe that Ron did that to poor Keith's hair. I would have been spitting feathers too!! LOL! I guess we just like to hang on to their cuteness as long as we possibly can.

Linda - thank you!

Shelly - thank you. I love him to bits!

Glenda - he is a little sweetie, isn't he?!

Connie - how lovely to see you here today. Thank you so much for leaving a comment. Yes, once their hair is cut, just a little of that cuteness is taken away. I'm sure my daughter and I will soon get used to it!

Jilda - lovely to see you here today as well!! Yes, I just love little boys with long hair. Never mind, I guess his daddy didn't want people laughing at him now that he's started pre-school. (Not that I think they would have!!).

Jo-Anne - I'm glad you like the new shorter look!!

rainbow - Aaaw, thank you for that lovely comment!

Claudia - thanks! I'm just so glad that my daughter came back into the room when she did though!

Eva Marie - thank you my friend. Always good to hear from you.

I know it hurts - to give up the baby. He is so cute. But he is cute with the shorter hair too - if that helps. Hugs. sandie

I'm glad I came back to this one. I left a comment on this through facebook and I don't see it. He looks precious. His dad did a fine job and he still has long waves. I was expecting a short side parted little man's haircut. He's got such a beautiful little cherub face! We are lucky grandma's aren't we?

Southhamsdarling said...

Chatty -I think that's what it is, isn't it, giving up the baby! :(

Bouncin'Barb - that's strange that the facebook comment didn't show up, isn't it?Yes, I must admit that I was expecting it a lot shorter than it actually is. His daddy did cut it once before when he was 2, and it was literally as if a pudding basin had been stuck on his head - quite frightening! You're right BB, we are such lucky grandmas, or should I say "awesome" grandmas!! Hugs.

That was a very good haircut. He looks fantastic and sadly for you, older. Hang in there my friend.

Odie - Hi again my friend. You're obviously catching up on reading your blogs today! Yes, he does look older - that's the sad bit! :(
