Get Your Glad Rags On - You're Invited To A Party!

I don't get to go to many parties these days, but I'm okay with that.  At my age, I'd rather stay home,  curled up with a good book,  sipping my cup of cocoa!

Did I mention a good book there?! Well, that's a cue for a plug if ever I saw one.

Yes, I have read the book and it is hilariously funny. I highly recommend it!

I know that, by now, most of you have heard of the famous, fabulous and very funny Carol Wyer,   who  blogs over at facing50withhumour, which is such a great read.  If you haven't visited her before, I urge you to do so now, because she really will bring a smile to your face, with tales of her hubby, her mum (who is ageing so disgracefully, that you just wouldn't believe it!) and her wayward son.  There is also a French friend, Solange, who is my absolute favourite, especially her advice on how to hold back the ageing process.  We should all have a friend like Solange!

I keep telling Carol that she is likely to be taken to Court very soon over the Trades Description Act,  as she celebrated a  big birthday a short while ago, so  her blog should really now be called facing51withhumour.

Anyway, I have been invited by Carol to a very special LAUNCH PARTY OF HER NEW NOVEL, Mini Skirts and Laughter Lines.  I thought  this was going to be a very exclusive party, and I was honoured to be asked along, but it turns out that the world and his wife have been invited as well, so you probably won't notice  little old me, sitting quietly in the corner,  drinking my lemonade.

This virtual party will be held tomorrow,  Friday, the 16th September, so please do go  along to Carol's blog and make it a party to remember.  She has all sorts of fun and frolics planned for us - competitions, jokes and all manner of other crazy things. Apparently, she has also thought of a new game for us to play as well, which is a take on Pin the Tail on the Donkey, but this one is called Pin the Tail on Carol's Hubby. Now that's one game I am really looking forward to. I know she has been working very hard to make it exciting for us and, let's face it, we woman of a certain age can use some excitement these days.

On the big day, one of the main events will be the judging of the Mini Skirt Competition.  Can I just please beg and plead politely ask my loyal Followers to remember me when  they are placing their vote! I am Contestant Number 10 by the way.

I look forward to seeing you all. I might even skip my usual glass of lemonade and help myself to some of the champagne that Carol is providing for us. (You did say "free champagne" on the invitation, didn't you Ms Wyer??!)

You're a perfect 10 in my book, Thisisme, and I will gladly attend the party if it means that I get another chance to oogle those Lloyds of London legs of yours. Have a fine evening, dear friend!

Thanks for the info on Carol's Book Launch Party, I will try to come as I do hate to miss a party as I anticipate cakes will be on the menu. I may have a work problem though as I am with Clients supervising a furniture delivery from 8am tomorrow until who knows what time. Can I give you my proxy vote so you can vote for yourself?

Well, I hope I can make it to the party. The time difference really messes with my mind. Will there be mimosas? (They mess with my mind as well.)

Diane...It's a lovefest of a party! It was fun seeing you over there, I think we must have been in different rooms though. I kept hearing your sweet laugh but just caught your mini skirted legs departing the room as I was entering!

Wanted to thank you for all your sweet words and encouragement while my Sweetheart was down and out. Slowly he is mending and I'm grabbing moments in time to visit my dear friends blogs and catch up on all things joyous and fun.

Hugs and good luck on the contest, I was an early voter for vous!

Hugs~
