Words elude! Prayers go up to all thsoe who have lost loved ones and those who serve around the world. Tears and chills of the fateful day! I will never forget! May God be with us! Blessings
What a lovely tribute Diane, you are very thoughtful. Welcome home. I can't wait to hear all about your holiday. Thanks for the visit and thanks for following on Pinterest, I now follow you too! Have a great weekend, love Linda x
Bethe - there have been lots of programmes on our tv here, because of the 10th anniversary. Frightening to think that nearly 3,000 lost their lives.
flowers on my table - thank you. I must admit that, after a rather hesitant start, I am really getting into Pinterest now. Their images are absolutely stunning.
Skippy - in this country, we feel the same about all our troops in Afghanistan. Every day bodies are being repatriated, and we just want them all to come home now.
Shelly - indeed, such an unbelievably tragic day. There was a programme on here this week about all the twins that had lost their twin. Surprising how many sets of twins were affected. That was a very sad programme.
Thanks, Thisisme! For the last few days every time I turn on TV news programs the images are there to remind me and I get that sad, sick feeling all over again. I hope you have a happy weekend, dear friend!
Linda - a collective ache is such a good description of the tragedy I think.
Shady - yes, it's been the same over here. I guess it's because it is the tenth anniversary of 9/11 this year. I often wonder just how terrible it must be for the families of all those who lost someone, to have to live through all this media coverage at the moment. Have a safe weekend my friend.
Anne in Oxfordshire - as you say, we just can't imagine the horror of actually being personally affected by that awful day. My goodness, your cousin's daughter was very lucky. It obviously wasn't time for her to go on that day.
I think that day will be imprinted forever in our minds. We will always remember exactly what we were doing that day. I still mourn and pray for all those whose lives were lost, and the brave men and women who worked to rescue the survivors. May God watch over us all!
Thank you for writing this post. The whole world remembers that day and the many lives that it affected. It is now with peace and love that we should all gather and remember. Manzanita@Wannabuyaduck
It was a day that shook all of us. We were pretty much frozen to our spots in front of the television and stayed there until late at night. I was 9 years old and freaked out of my mind just with what I saw on the television. You're a very thoughtful person, Diane.
Maria - hallo! Lovely to see you here on this sad day. I too pray that God will look after us all and that peace may come to this world of ours, for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
Olive - I know what you mean about not being able to look at the images. I must admit that, after I had posted it, I did wonder whether I should have put the pictures in or not.
Chatty - you're right. We must never forget, and we must never allow evil to triumph over good. Enjoy your weekend my friend.
Manzanita - I so agree with you. It should be with peace and love that we gather and remember the terrible events of that day.
PencilGirl - nice to see you my friend. I did give you a brief mention in my post yesterday and my next post will be about the Award that you generously passed on to me. Like you, we were all glued to the television - not really believing what we were seeing. It really was like something out of a terrible disaster movie.
LindyLouMac in Italy - We've been hearing so much about it in the past week because of the ten year Anniversary, so I thought I should do a little post about it.
Grammy Goodwill - Such a tragic day, and this post was to commemorate the 10th Anniversary.
Raindrops and Daisies - thank you my friend. Good to have you back!
Thanks Diane, there will be many stories told on TV as the day approaches. Only yesterday they had a little boy who was born a few weeks after his father died in the disaster. He was writing a letter to his dad telling him all about how people say he has some of the same ways his father had. It was an emotional story. Have a wonderful weekend my friend. Odie
Dear Lady, I clearly remember the day!!! Just after I finished my job around 9:30 pm, my husband was watching news-show reporting it. I saw the screen and said "what movie are you watching?" Oh, how thoughtful of you☆☆☆
ps> just opened Pinterest, but no pics yet, haha. I'll work on it soon. Lots of love and Hugs from east xoxo, Orchid
I had already arrived at work that day. A co-worker turned on her small TV around 8:30 our time, which was 9:30 NY time. And, then we saw it...unbelievable! Our nation is still trying to recover. Thank you so much for remembering and sharing with us Thisisme! Your US friend!
Odie - oh my, that must have been an emotional story about the little boy. We're hearing so many sad stories over here as well. You take care my friend.
E Ason - welcome to my blog under your new name Eva!
Orchid - greetings my little Japanese friend. Yes, I remember the event so very well too. It really was just as if we were watching a movie. Horrific. I saw that you had joined Pinterest. It took me a while to get into it, but now I've been quite busy! Hugs to you.
chambanachik - lovely to see you here today, and thank you so much for becoming my latest Follower (My 150th!). We here in England will all be thinking of America on Sunday and praying for all those who were involved in that dreadful day.
Susan - I felt I just had to post about it, especially this particular year, being the 10th Anniversary of that awful day. Lovely to see you here today my friend.
Retired English Teacher - I'm sure the day will never be forgotten by all those peaceful people all over the world. I pray for peace for us and our grandchildren in the years to come.
lyndylou - thank you my friend. Yes, like you, I remember exactly where I was on that day, and also 7 /7. Both events -well, you just couldn't believe they were happening. As you say, it certainly changed the world for ever.
So many things changed after that day. When the term "collective ache" came up, I was drawn to it...in the years that followed we experienced many changes. Collectively we had to ask ourselves to find deeper meanings in life. We found out how truly connected we are as a society. We found out that we cared deeply about people we had never met but who had experienced the ultimate sacrifice. Life took on new directions and purpose.
Gawgus things - as you say, incredible to think that it's ten years ago since that terrible, terrible day. I think it will always stay fresh in our minds, because the images were just so awful.

Thank you Diane. The pictures are hard to look at, always - and no one here will ever forget.
Sunday is going to be a very hard day.
I just wish all of our troops would come home now.
What a lovely tribute! It shall always be such an iconic, tragic day for me. May this be the year all terrorism ends.

I cannot bear to look at these images. How good of you to do this and I know the U. K. has had it's share of terror which has no borders.

Thank you for honoring the memory of all those innocent lives that were lost that day and their families.

As an American, it's nice to know that the day is remembered around the world.

Lovely tribute to a day that the world changed forever. I still remember exactly where I was on the day of 9/11 and also 7/7.
So many loved ones lost and the shock still lingers on today when you see footage of that terrible day.
lyndylou - thank you my friend. Yes, like you, I remember exactly where I was on that day, and also 7 /7. Both events -well, you just couldn't believe they were happening. As you say, it certainly changed the world for ever.
There are never words to express this horrible day in our history.
Sending love and prayers
beautiful tribute
Katherines Corner - you're right Katherine. No words could ever describe the sheer horror of that day. Take care. Sending you hugs.
Becca - thank you my friend. Such a sad day and one that has changed our lives forever really.
I still can't believe it was 10 years ago. Frightening how time passes so quickly but some things remain so fresh in your mind.

Very touching tribute to a very trying time and a memory deeply imbedded in each of us.
Thank you for taking the time to put this post together - not an easy task I'm sure.
