Sunday Snaps

Happy Sunday everyone! Something different for my Sunday Snaps today, as I am still unable to use my laptop (Grrrrrr and Eeeek!!), so I cannot actually access any photos.

BUT, this gives me an excuse to stay on the 'love' theme! For all you non-romantics out there, bear with me, as there are only a couple more days to go- then I will be back to normal!!

By now, most of my Followers will know that hubby isn't very outwardly romantic, but he has always sent Valentines Cards to our daughters since they were quite young, and he continues to do so now, even though they are married! He also sends cards to our two granddaughters. All together now - Aaaaah!!

My Sunday Snap this week is actually an oil painting by Frank Bernard Dicksee (who, I confess, I have never heard of). It was painted in 1884 and, apparently, it remains popular because we all still crave 'passion and faithfulness'.

The painting is of a stolen kiss between the most famous star-crossed lovers of them all, and it has been voted the most romantic artwork in Britain.

I absolutely love it! It shows the Shakespearean couple sharing a kiss after their wedding night, not realising it will be their last. Oh, the tragedy of it all!!

For those of you who are interested, Rodin's The Kiss was the runner-up.

I hope my lovely bloggy friends have a week filled with love and hugs. Dont forget, I have been talking of romantic love, but other things are just as important, such as faithfulness and constancy, being there for us, in sickness and in health, to name but a few.

I was thinking of you today. I hope you are back online soon.

Thanks for the sentiments expressed here. You know, it has been a very rough couple of months here. I am all about loving through "sickness and health." I'm ready for the health part.

Thanks for trying to keep us on track for the holiday. Here it is 10 PM on saturday so we have some time left here on vacation in Wilmington. It has been a great weekend but very cold. Hope you had a great nights rest.

Happy Sunday to you, dear friend Thisisme! I'm sorry you're still having technical difficulties. I've had my share recently and it's ever so frustrating. Your husband is a very sweet and thoughtful man to send cards to your daughters and to Ruby and Ellie. He has stood by you all these years through thick and thin. That kind of devotion is becoming a rarity in modern marriage. I love those works of art. Impressionist human portraiture and cityscapes are my favorite art categories. I hope you are well and in good spirits, dear friend. Bless you!

Happy Valentine,so glad I dropped by to see whats going on.Glad you can still post.I have always bought my daughter's valentine cards and gifts.Layed them out on our bed, locked the door and gave my husband a pen and He signed them.I don't know how long they thought Daddy went out to shop for these little things but I could always tell they thought it was from Daddy-and it really was-kind of.

I have to say the painting of Romeo and Juliet made my heart beat a little faster. It is very romantic. The Rodin sculpture is scrumptious too. Ahh, romance! I did find it romantic that my hubby emptied the dishwasher once last week for the first time in our marriage. I don't know what's gotten into him lately!

I truly hope your computer problems will be over soon. It is awful to have that trouble. Remember poor Carol out in the boondocks who didn't have internet for weeks?!

FB had the icon for phone next to your name so I figured you are still using the phone for everything. Crud! I hope it all gets straightened out soon. I love when men send valentines to their children...
Hugs~

Oh dear what a nuisance still being without your internet connection and laptop.

I hope that you get it sorted soon.

I love today's post, the painting is beautiful.

My husband must be like yours as he still sends cards to the kids!
They laugh at it but think they would really miss it if he forgot!

Wishing you a lovely week filled with happy things.

Take care

To love and be loved...that's all there is! Keep the romance alive Diane. How lovely that your husband sends Valentine's to your daughter's and grandaughter's. My mum used to send them to me and my sister's, and I can tell you there were times, when we were lonely, that they really meant the world to us!
Keep well, love Linda x

It's meant to be very good Feng Shui to have love art works in your house! Good for the love life if you were wondering..! Hope you get your internet back soon :)

I love the painting...so soft and romantic. Thanks for all the romance this past week, even with your internet problems. You've held up very graciously, my friend. Karo also enjoyed your latest phot of Ruby Violet of FB. He says she's a very pretty little girl. I think he takes more notice of small children since he's become a grandfather. He has 3 granddaughters from his son, but they live hours away, and we don't get to see them much. So he delights in getting to be a wonderful grandfather to our little Shawn.

Happy Valentine's day, dear Diane...I know I'll see you later on FB. Keep the laughter coming!☺

It's very sweet that your hubby still sends Valentines to your daughters. I'm sure it even means more to them now than it did when they were little.

Hope your computer / internet issues will be resolved soon. I'm sure it must be frustrating.
