Well, here is my second Sunday Christmas Song and I hope it works for all of you and that you will enjoy it.
We are still having dry, bright seasonal weather at the moment, so long may it last. The forecast is for it to get even colder during the coming week, so I will have to turn out my thermals!! (Only joking - I don't actually have any).
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas.

Happy Sunday, we have so much snow! Amazing!
Hallo again, dear Thisisme, and thank you for another delightful song of the season. This one performed by Bing and Bowie is a classic and I have seen it several times over the years. It is an example of two solid pros, one old school, the other new wave, blending their voices in perfect harmony. I don't know how often they rehearsed this scene but it was executed flawlessly from the easy, natural conversation at the beginning to the intricacies of the duet itself. It is simply amazing! As I pointed out in my current blog post there are millions alive today who never heard of either of these giants of the entertainment industry. Surprisingly, there are quite a few modern teens and 20-somethings who probably know Bing Crosby better than Bowie because they are capitivated by the singers and movie and stars of the 30s, 40s and 50s to the exclusion of practically everything else. Boomers can actually learn what came before their time by checking the blogs and YouTube channels operated by these very young people. I love this trend! Happy Sunday to you, dear friend Thisisme. Give Eli and Ruby a hug for me and have a fine week ahead!
Hi hope you are having a great day love your song of choice this week. Are you all set for Christmas? Hope you have a wonderful day
DoodleBug absolutely adores David Bowie and all of us love that particular performance with Bing. We all also love Charles Dickens. I just watched David Copperfield this morning. The one from 1935. I think they did a nice job. Hope your weekend has been a good one!
Oh, Thisisme! I saw this on my reading list and had to run right over! I love you for putting this song and these two great guys, cute too...on your post today! I saw them do this on TV one Christmas, and, now it gets played on the radio every year! It's so impressive that two completely different generations can come together and perform so wonderfully.
I love your quotes, was reading some of Dickens' quotes yesterday myself and recognized them.
Now remember...you have your arm warmers-don't forget to put them on. We're steadily dropping temps right now down to the 20's tomorrow. Imagine that!
Again, thank you so much dear friend for the wonderful video and song. I'll watch it anytime! See you soon-stoke up that fire!♥
We lit the tree yesterday, and have been playing all our favorite carols.
Glad you are enjoying both the holiday season and good weather! :)
I enjoyed your post! My goodness - number one - I never knew Bing and David were a twosome in singing - what a surprise. LOL And they did great - I had never heard them before.
Merry Christmas early.
Love, sandie
I have never heard that duet before. Lovely. Bing is one of my old time favs and White Christmas is the best. I'll have to add this piece to my list. :) Enjoy the second week of Advent...the week of preparation.
