Only Me! ......

Hi everyone.  Well, how are you all then?  I hope I haven't missed too much from being absent for much of this week.

Many of you might know that the family have been here from France for this past week.  The wonderful weather we had last week seems to have disappeared unfortunately, and it's been pretty rainy all this week here in Devon (now there's a surprise!).

It's not actually raining as I type this, but it's pretty chilly out there, in quite a stiff breeze.  We're going on a boat trip from Plymouth Hoe this evening, so I guess we will be wrapping up pretty warm!

We're also hoping for sun tomorrow, as  Emma's good friend is getting married, and (I think I mentioned  this before), Emma is giving the bride away - quite an honour I think.  This is the friend, you might remember, that had her Hen Night back in March, so that Kelly could go on.  We honestly never expected Kelly to be here for the wedding, but she is going to go, providing it is one of her good days.  I do pray that it will be so.  Apparently, she said to Emma in the week that she just wanted to see Jude get married - almost as if she has been holding on for that :(  She really has been SO brave, with all that she has had to go through.  The Consultant told her a few days ago, that she should have three more months.

To be honest, I've also been pretty quiet because I'm not feeling on top form at the moment.  Most of you will know the problems I have been having with my skin, and the dreadful irritation over the past year.  Whilst I was on the Steroids, I was absolutely hyper and rushing around like a mad thing, feeling SO Good!  However, you cannot stay on those for ever, and, just this week, I have been to the Hospital and I am now on Azathioprine.  Apparently, the side effects can be quite bad, and I have to go up to the Hospital every week so that they can keep their eye on things, and I also have to have a blood test done every week.

I was so busy worrying about the more serious side-effects, that I just didn't give a thought to another side effect, and, that is, desperate tiredness! I read the leaflet this morning, and this is definitely mentioned.  As soon as I sit down, I have literally been dropping off to sleep, and I am still sleeping through the night.  I guess I will have to mention this when I go up again next week, as it could be quite dangerous, especially when I'm driving.  My friend was talking to me the other day, and I just dropped off! LOL!! I tried to explain that I wasn't really bored by her conversation!!!

It was daughter number 2's second wedding anniversary on Tuesday.  I still look back on that day as being absolutely perfect.  The weather behaved, we had a wonderful Marquee in the garden, and everyone was just wafting around drinking Pims and enjoying a good old Devon Cream Tea!

Well, I hope that I will start to visit you all again next week (the family go home on Sunday) .  Until then, I'm sending (((HUGS))) your way my friends.

Oh, I thought I would just mention about little Alfred.  We are dosing him up twice a day, and it seems to be controlling things at the moment.  The top Vet phoned here a few days ago to say that they think they CAN carry out an operation, so that will be the next step once he gets back home again.  Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post.  It brings it home to me once again (not that I really needed reminding) that our blogging community really is so loyal and supportive, whether we have good news or bad news, and I, for one, certainly appreciate you all.

My oh my, dear Thisisme! Things were going so well when you told us about "Sandy" a while back. Since then a lot has been happening in your life and not much of it cheery. The weather is the least of it. I'm sure it will bounce back and I hope it does in time for the wedding tomorrow. I hope Kelly feels up to being there. I also hope she doesn't give up and start believing she only has three more months to live. It could become a self fulfilling prophecy. I think she would be much better off setting her sights on the next happy occasion and then the next and the next. I am terribly sorry that you are ailing again, my dear friend. Your unusually long absences from blogging often signal a problem of this nature and it makes me very sad. I hope you feel better soon. I also hope that my good buddy Alfred can recover from his condition. As I already told you, I posted a comment on your previous post, double checked it before leaving, came back a few days later and it had vanished somehow. You know that I would never forget or ignore Alfred or you, my dear friend. Please take good care of yourself and let us hear from you again soon.

Oh, my friend, I am so sorry you are having to go through this! I do hope they can get something to you that will manage the side effects. You are in my prayers, as is brave Kelly.

So happy for little Alfred, that things are looking up for him.

I hope your boat trip is as wonderful as it sounds!

I hope they get you all straightened out! And poor Alfred too! Meanwhile, enjoy the family. Having them around makes things seem better, yes?

Sorry about the tiredness, thank goodness you are taking the view that it could be a risk driving... the doctor should probably have warned you methinks. I tend to want to fall asleep when driving anyway - it can be a problem sometimes but I always stop the car when I feel it coming on.

Your daughter No 2 was the most beautiful bride!

I do hope that you will feel better soon!
And while watching the picture from your daughter's wedding I realise how long I have been reading your blog.
Happy weekend

Oh my dear Diane. I am so sorry you are going through all of this. I read the side effects for this drug, and oh my goodness, it is a scary drug. You take care of yourself. It is such a dilemma at times when it comes to taking meds to help one condition only to have them create other problems. I hope you get it all sorted out.

In the meantime, enjoy the wedding. I so hope Kelly can make it.

Take care dear one.

Oh dear sorry you are having health problems also. Hope it gets sorted soon, we are all feeling tired here also. Think for us a bit more consistent summer weather would be good. Hope the wedding is a blessed occasion.

Happy Son/Sunday

Hi Diane,

The weather has really kicked back to the way it was, but lets hope we still get some nice and warm sunny days. I don't get the gushing winds though, it would be pretty ok without them.

Hope the wedding will go well, what an honour for Emma. Am sad to read about Kelly, she really IS brave!

That sounds very difficult, hope you will start to feel better soon. Some sunny weather is definitely needed, it boosts our moods a bit, this past week has felt a bit draining, perhaps it was the drastic change in the weather that does it...

Hope you have a good Saturday!
Hugs x

I am happy and sad for all of you. Poor Kelly, you, and Alfred, but dear Kelly, you, and Alfred are blessed to have some relief. Kelly is thinking of herself as LIVING not dying and that will help her hang on. Dianne, do you have eczema? I work at a food allergy school and most skin conditions are a result of an allergy to a particular food. Woshong you all the best.

Well, I DO NOT LIKE YOU NOT FEELING TIP TOP. I'm sorry for the all caps, I'm told it's rude in texting, but I want you feeling all zippy again ASAP. Oops, those caps again! I hope they get this straightened out for you so you don't have to fret over side effects etc.
I am praying the weather was good today for the wedding, I hope Kelly made it and it was a memorable day for one and all.
Sir Alfred I am hoping will do so much better with an operation. Those little fur babies are just so very important in our lives

Much love and hugs and get wells and party ons today for you and yours. Hugs to Ms Emma as I'm sure it was a very emotional day for her..

Hallo again, dear Thisisme! I just stopped back here to make sure my comment hadn't disappeared and was wowed by your header - a jumbo picture of you and my buddy Alfred! It's such a wonderful sight and I pray that you are both doing much better today! God bless!

Dearest Diane, I am so sorry about Kelly, your illness and Alfred. You are going through some hard trials right now. I pray God will give you strength. The pills my mother takes for cholesterol make her very tired. Sometimes the cure can be a real pain.

Don't worry about being absent sometimes. I am often too overwhelmed to blog or read blogs. God bless.

Hi Thisisme...just made my way over here, have Scootie in residence this weekend, and he has finally gone down for a nap this afternoon.

I'm so sorry you're feeling under the weather again, so you really do need sunshine, don't you? And, poor little Alfred-he's right there with you! I'm so glad to see you when I do, and you're right about the blogging community, it's such a wonderful, friend-gathering place...our own little town!

Congrats to your daughter on her anniversary, I remember her gorgeous wedding photos...a fairyland princess's wedding! And, I hope Emma's friend Kelly makes it alright through the festivities.

Get rest, and, be well! Hugs!♥

How hard for you to go from crazed energized due to the meds then to falling asleep whilst a friend is talking. I hope you are healing, and that all in your family are finding lots of love and support. That wedding photo is blissful, both the couple and the scene.

My lovely, darling girl. I can only say I understand. I wish, as you always have for me, to take away the pain, and the side effects.

We should sit down together and write an entire blog just on side effects, shan't we? giggle

It's wonderful that wedding will be happening as planned. How strong Kelly is. Everyone is in our thoughts and prayers.

Even Sir Alfred - little guy. I hope he is well soon. The header is just gorgeous, especially of you.

Thinking of you daily. Missing you by the minute. Love JG

Dear Diane, You are always so "up" and happy in your posts--you never let on how much you are suffering. I hope you can get relief and fewer side effects. It's not much fun facing the results of living past 45, is it? The joys are there, to be sure, but .... Aw well, the best is yet to be. Heaven calls us home. :)
