Remembering ....

Who could ever forget watching this horrendous tragedy unfold on our television screens?  It really was like watching something out of a horror movie - all the poor souls leaping from windows of their offices, and the brave men and women of the emergency services that entered those buildings, without even thinking of the danger to their own lives. They were just thinking of rescuing as many people as they could.

On the eve of September 11th, 2001, people would be lying beside their loved ones for the last time. Millions of Americans went to bed, without knowing the horror that they would be waking up to.

I think what I am trying to say, is that we never know what each day may hold, so we really must try to live this wonderful life that we have been given, to the fullest and truly rejoice in each and every day.

We must tell our loved ones that we love them and how much they mean to us.

My thoughts and prayers today go out to America, and we must continue to pray, in these still troubled times around the world, that good WILL prevail against evil....

Thank you, Diane. It really was an awful day, followed by many weeks of sadness and concern. I remember how quiet the skies were with no planes passing over head. Hard to feel like we could go back to life as before. I know, for me, life was defined as before 9/11 and after.
And you are so right, in these unsettled times, with so much evil around we need to lean into the love and the good. Tell those we love just how much they mean to us. Treat a stranger with kindness...no on knows what battles people face in their lives. Mostly, we walk around with smiles maybe masking the despair or concerns that really are a part of our lives.
Hugs to you dear friend. I hope you continue to spread your kindness and light to everyone. I know I feel it and appreciate it and am so glad you are a part of my life!

Thank you so much dear Sush. It really WAS a defining moment in our lives. I had just returned from holiday with a friend and we turned on the televison. Her husband's son was actually in the air on a transatlantic flight to America. You can imagine the worry. Likewise, I am glad to have you in my life and to hear all about your family and all those wonderful grandchildren!

Defining indeed. That day replays in my head so often. I pray for my fellow Americans, while asking why? Why did this happen veiled in the guise of religion ? And honestly? I can't watch any of the live footage without breaking down in tears,
