Misty Summer Morning

A happy Sunday to you all.  It's one of those perfect Summer mornings here in heavenly Devon, with the mist rising across the fields - all is quiet and peaceful, with just the sound of a solitary bird singing on a nearby shrub.

I love early mornings like this, when I could be the only person in the world, and everything is fresh and new. These moments refresh my soul, and make me forget about the fighting and violence I watched on my TV screen last night. Butterflies are fluttering amongst the roses, and I pause to count my blessings. So many good things to be thankful for.

It's going to be a good day, and I am very lucky to be living here in the South Hams, the most beautiful part of heavenly Devon, and, yes, I'm proud to be a 'Devon maid', born and bred.

Life is slower in our little corner of England, and I'm grateful for it. Right now, our little lanes are busy with holidaymakers who come down each year for the wonderful beaches, wild Dartmoor, and wonderful local food. I can think of nothing better, on a warm Summer day, than to sit outside, eating good food, with my obligatory glass of Rosรจ, looking at the sea. Bliss!

So dear holidaymaker, it's lovely to have you here, but it will be wonderful to have our beauty spots nice and peaceful again!

Even my little orchid is loving life at the moment!

Sending sunshine and positive vibes to all my Followers out there. Thank you for taking the time to read my rambling thoughts ๐Ÿ˜Š

What a lovely post. Your description of early morning time alone in the garden makes me feel like I'm right there with you. If only that were true! I could use a little of your garden right about now. ๐Ÿ˜” Someday I hope my awesome friend!!

Despite world leader tensions and racist homophobics grandstanding with violence on our American soil, there's always something to smile about. Thank you for sending your smiles across the ocean this morning!

Thank you Glenda, and it was lovely to see you here today. You're right - there is always something to smile about, and to be thankful for - even if we find it very hard to understand the actions of others sometimes.

We were walking in one of my favourite spots when I tutted, 'It's like Piccadilly Circus here!' I know I shouldn't wish tourists (and their money) away from our slightly impoverished area but I agree it is lovely when they've all gone and we have our spots back to ourselves!

Your orchids are so plentiful and beautiful, Thisisme! You take photos of the most relaxing and beckoning kind. This is indeed a lovely post that warms the heart. I always love your waterfront views, and words of peace and love! Have a wonderful week, Thisisme!

Hi Liz. Thank you so much for leaving a comment. I know we shouldn't complain, but the roads are so busy at the moment, along with all the places that we love. Picadilly Circus indeed! Yes, it will be good to get back to normal once the children have gone back to school!

Hello Suzanne, my Texan friend. You're always so supportive of my Blog and leave such kind and thoughtful comments. Thank you! I'm amazed at my orchid as, usually, I'm hopeless with indoor plants! Hope all is well with you my friend ๐Ÿ˜Š
