The first Award was given to me by Shady Del Knight http://shadydell.blogspot.com/ and it is the I Heart (Love) Your Blog Award. Isn't it just the cutest little Award! I don't know who designed this one but it is so simple that I just love it! (Probably because I'm such a simple person myself. LOL!). Thank you for this one Shady!
I've just looked at Shady's Blog again, just to make sure, but the wonderful thing about this Award is that it doesn't look as if I have to do anything, so I'm just going to sit here and quietly appreciate it. I have told Shady this on many occasions, but he really is one of the wisest men, and comes up with such meaningful comments to blog posts. You know when you meet a person, and they make you feel as if you are the only person in the room, well, that's Shady for you!
I would like to pass on this Award to vintch over at http://vintch.blogspot.com/ Her writing is absolutely beautiful and she writes about her life with her lovely husband Robert, and their cute little dog, Pablo. She is certainly wise beyond her years. Please do go over to her Blog and pay a visit.

I heard on the radio yesterday that this weekend is supposed to be the most depressing weekend of the year. I suppose it is because Christmas and the New Year celebrations are over, and we have only (certainly here in England, if not where you are) the dark days of January to look forward to.
It's still getting dark at about 4.30 p.m. here, so the days are still very short. But am I downhearted? No, I am not. I fill the house with scented candles (I particularly like Ylang Ylang, which is very earthy and sensuous) and curl up with a good book. I even managed to buy some bunches of daffodils yesterday, so they have really brightened up the house. It is very early for daffodils, and I presume they must have been grown in a hothouse, but they are a lovely sign that it won't be too long before Spring is with us once more.
I have my home, my health, my loving family, the gift of friendship, and now I have my blogging friends to keep me company throughout this winter of 2011. Blessings indeed!
I will tell you about my second Award in tomorrow's post.
