Romantic Post - Number 3

"Love is like quick silver in the hand.  Leave the fingers open and it stays.  Clutch it and it darts away."  by Dorothy Parker.

"Love doesn't make the world go round; love is what makes the ride worthwhile."  by Elizabeth Browning.

"Love is the irresistable desire to be irresistably desired".  by Mark Twain.

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."  by Mother Teresa.

I have been thinking of romantic songs, and here are a few that came to mind.  I am sure that you know of lots more.

"Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams.

"Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley.

"I Swear" by All For One.

"Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart.

"Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers.

"I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.

"Lady In Red" by Chris de Burgh.

"Three Times A Lady" by The Commodores.

"Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes.

"Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler.

"When A Man Loves A Woman" by Percy Sledge.

"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion.

"Endless Love" by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross.

"Amazed" by Lonestar.

"Every Breath You Take" by The Police.

"Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

"Save The Last Dance For Me" by The Drifters.

You can give without loving, but you cannot
love without giving.

The early bird gets the worm, Thisisme, and since I'm still awake stateside I thought I'd bid you a good morning. That song by the Police was widely interpreted to be the words of an obsessed stalker and not a true love song. I would like to add three more love songs to your list. They are all appropriately entitled "I Love You" and they are three completely different songs. One was recorded by the doo-wop vocal group The Volumes, one by the psychedelic pop group called People, and the third by the Climax Blues Band. Cheers, dear friend!

My husbands and my song was Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. The words fit us perfectly when we met.

Shady - Hi. You were the early bird this morning! I never knew that about the Police song, "Every Breath I Take". Like Odie (see his comment), I am amazed at your knowledge of music dear friend.

Bethe77 - With Valentine's Day fast approaching, that is why I decided to post some romantic posts to get us all in the mood!!!

Skippy - Yes, I agree with you on that one.

Odie -Thank you and, like you, I am wondering if there is anything that our friend Shady doesn't know about music!!

lyndylou - I love the film of Beaches as well. Always makes me cry - so sad!!

Becky - glad you like the post. I'm trying to call on our romantic side leading up to Valentine's Day!

Bouncin'Barb - lovely song (I'm guessing that you were the lace, although I could be wrong!!!!). I think it's lovely when couples have a special song.

Jumble Mash - that's a good one, isn't it?!

LindyLouMac - I would be interested to know of your romantic choices!

great love song list. Wind Beneath My Wings was done first by Gary Morris (his version is AWESOME!). He has an amazing voice. One of his songs was "our" song when Ron and I met. Even though I love Bette's version, I can't help but think of GM when I hear hers come on the radio.

Teresa -Glad you liked the song list. I haven't heard of Gary Morris, but I will certainly google him and see if I can hear his version. Thank you.

I love the quote by Mother Theresa, "If you judge people you have no time to love them." I've caught myself judging people and have felt remorseful when I realize that they're a person, too, and it would probably be better if I'd take a moment and try to understand them before making any kind of judgment.

Natasha - So pleased you liked the choice of songs! I would love to link up with your Sunday Songs on the 13th. (Sometimes I find I'm not very clever with these links, but I will certainly try!).

Bethe77 -thank you for looking into the time difference for me! I will participate in the prayer link up with you all.

Cat - you are right, that first quote is so very true.

Lauren - thank you SO much for popping over to my Blog, and I hope you will do so again. I think we have all found ourselves judging people, and it's certainly not a very nice thing to do. The world would be a much better please if everyone took that moment to try to understand the other person. Thank you for your comment.
