Hallo again all my little bloggy friends. On Saturday morning, we held a coffee morning in aid of Children's Hospice South West , which I have mentioned on my Blog before. See here.
We managed to raise £250 which was fantastic. A lot of people came along to support us, and it helped that it was a beautiful day, with clear blue skies and bright sunshine. As we drove along the Devon lanes to the farmhouse where the coffee morning was being held, the banks were full of daffodils and primroses.
For those of you who don't know Devon, a lot of the roads (especially the ones leading to the sea) have very high banks, and you just can't see what is coming round the corner. I know that oversea visitors find it very strange, trying to manoeuvre their large cars along these pretty little lanes!
I hope these photos will give you some idea of what I'm talking about!
On Thursday, my friend and I took ourselves into the City and, guess what, I bought my wedding outfit, complete with shoes, fascinator, and clutch bag!! Couldn't believe I managed to get it all in the one go!! I wish I could show it to you, but I'm afraid you will have to be patient and wait until June!! Let's just say that I love it. Nothing like those dresses that I showed you a couple of days ago. This is a real mother of the bride outfit, with a colour that I love, and it fits me perfectly. Yay!
Oh! After a week of struggling with it, I finally managed to get Southhamsdarling onto facebook, and I would love it if you would click on the facebook badge on the left hand side of my blog (which, hopefully, will take you into my page), and then click the 'Like' button. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness those roads are small. Is it a two lane road? I surely hope not!?! Congrats on the money raise that is awesome!
Yea! Your outfit! I can hardly wait till June. Im sure it is lovely.
I will go and push the FB button and hoepful I will get there. I love playing on the FB site so that is cool.
Blessings
All I can say is yay :) for the dress! And congratulations for the fundraise. And in respect to the roads, I know what you mean, been there and I find it absolutely charming. Have a nice week with lots of sun and spring air :)
Bethe. Good morning, and thank you for pushing the facebook button! Yes, they are two lane roads. They have sort of passing places along them. In the summer, it can be pretty horrendous with all the visitors trying to get to the beach!!
Claudia - Have you changed your surname, or am I just going stupid?
(No comments please!!). Yes, it is very charming here in Devon, and I love it!
Not stupid, not at all. This is my surname, funnily enough blogger was still using my maiden name, now this is the real me :)
I don't mind being led down the primrose path as long as it's by you, Thisisme. I couldn't be happier for you now that everything's coming alive and looking so beautiful, setting the stage for the big event in June. Enjoy your Monday, dear friend!
What a joy to start my week with your lovely post. Congratulations on the fundraiser and acquiring your new wedding outfit. Can't wait to see you model it for us.
That road is very pretty with all the new growth on the banks but from what I saw I sure would hate to meet a vehicle coming from the other way, especially if I forgot what side I was supposed to be on. I hope you have the most wonderful week my friend.
Odie
Everytime you post pics of your Devon.... I want to go visit even more! It is so very pretty! ~ YAY for you finding a dress! Can't wait to see it! I am sure that it is beautiful! ~ I am so proud of you and your "techy" self! You have passed me in that area of expertise. That is for sure! I will most certainly "like" you on Facebook! You'll have to share how you did it! :)
What beautiful pictures! Congrats on finding your dress, that is so generous and nice for you to raise money for such a great cause!
Can we please have a peek, at least, of your hat? [Fascinator] Please.
I'll take an email :) ::wink::
Very excited for you and congrats on the success of the coffee for the Hospice.
I would love to see England some day - it looks so beautiful.
Actually I have been there twice - to London - and saw the tourist places - your area seems so different.
Can't wait to see your wedding outfit.
Sandie
what fabulous pictures and how AMAZING that you got your whole weddding outfit in one stop! How fabulous! I'm sure you look GORGEOUS!
Lovely post, the pictures made me smile.
Have a lovely evening x
The first time I went to Devon I found those lanes rather scarey to drive along, but they are pretty and I can just imagine the primroses and daffs-simply gorgeous! Well done raising all that money, its terrific. Well done too getting your outfit sorted I am sure thats a relief. Thankyou for your lovely comments, as always, you are very kind.Nightie night! Love Linda x.
I'm so happy you found your dress, shoes and bag. What a relief for you!
Wondeful news about the charity money. And I love the pictures. I used to watch Inspector Morse all the time and loved the look of the countryside of England.
Claudia - well, I'm glad I'm not going doolally!!
taio - thank you so much for popping into my blog and leaving a comment. I hope you will come again.
Shady - you know how to make a lady feel good!! LOL!
Odie - thank you for your lovely comments. I think you would find it very strange driving along these Devon lanes!
Becky - I'm sure you would adore Devon and all its little villages! PLEASE don't ask for help with facebook. It took me so long, and I was absolutely tearing my hair out, so I don't think I'm that 'techy'!!! LOL.
jdracecar - Lovely to receive your comment. Glad you liked the photos.
SkippyMom - I might, if you're good!!
Chatty Crone - lovely that you have been to London and seen all the sights, but Devon is SO, SO different. A much slower pace of life. A lot of people think we have straw coming out of our ears, living where we do, but I love it, and I know you would too!!
vintch - I can't tell you how relieved I was to get my outfit. It is rather special!!
saskia - so lovely of you to pop over and leave a comment. I did come by your Blog, but I can't read Spanish :(
flowers on my table -I didn't realize that you knew Devon. It is charming, isn't it? Always lovely to receive your comments.
Belle - Yes, was so pleased to get the outfit and even more so, because I do feel good in it! Oh, I used to love watching Inspector Morse. Hoping again that your trip goes well. Take care.
How wonderful to have a glimpse of Devon in the springtime. I wonder why you worry about making your post sound interesting. We all love you and are completely charmed by your writing style, pictures and stories that you share.
kneesandpaws - I'm glad you enjoyed the photos of Devon, and thank you so very much for your kind comments x
Look at you with 90 followers! You are awesome! I keep telling you! So glad you found your outfit for the wedding. That's a load off your mind. But now you make us wait? Uh!! hehe. I added you to my facebook page. Good for you! Hugs!
Those roads are sooo narrow! I would be afraid to drive on them! They are beautiful photos, though.
And yay for getting the dress!!! Can't wait to see it!
Bouncin'Barb - thank you for liking my facebook page! Yes, 90 followers. That crept up on me, didn't it?! Hope the packings going okay!
Jumble Mash - yes, the roads can be a bit of a pain, especially when all the holidaymakers are here in the summer months! Lovely to have you back with us again.
wow those roads are small and congrats on getting an outfit as well as the fundraiser. hope you have an aawesome week, hugs
Boy, what hills! I had no idea, but it looks beautiful...by the way, I can't wait to see your wedding outfit, but what is a fascinator? And. you did make it interesting!
Yay! It is great to hear that you found a wedding outfit! Great outfits are those you love and are comfortable in. Good on ya!
Delightful, quaint country lanes...but for modern cars with their modern speeds, agreed...it could get quite scary! I guess most will travel on the highways though and avoid the lanes? I'd opt for the lanes every time, though!
I'm so happy for you...hearing you've successfully resolved your
'Mother-of-the-bride' outfit dilemma! Absolutely sounds as though it was your lucky day!
Well done, also, on your successful Fundraising effort!!!
I'm not on Facebook...sorry, but I 'DIG' you, nevertheless!
Becca - Yep, the roads are certainly narrow, but us locals are used to it!!
Susan - yes, there are LOTS of hills here in Devon. A Fascinator is a frothy (!) little thing that you wear on your head instead of a full blown hat. (It's usually all feathers & stuff). But it really makes an outfit something special.
OnMySoapbox - I couldn't agree more!
Desiree - Lovely to hear from you. No we can't use the highways, because those narrow roads are the only roads that can take you anywhere around the County, especially when you're heading for the coastal resorts.
really lovely photos!
xoxo

I just spotted the bookcrossing badge! I know I have congratulated you elsewhere on getting your outfit, yikes I have not even started looking for mine yet. Impressed you found it so quickly.
The countryside around you is of course beautiful
Christine Donee - thank you so much for popping into my blog and leaving a comment!
LindyLouMac - yes, I thought I would give Bookcrossing a plug! I'm so pleased I have the outfit, as I can relax now. You'll have to start looking for yours soon !
So where are the photos of the wedding outfit?!
I can see what you mean about those small lanes. I would have a hard time with it till I got used to it. I know that's a good feeling having the outfit taken care of and knowing that you are pleased with what you have.
Gawgus things - I did say that you would all have to wait until June!
Becca's Dirt - yes, you DO get used to those narrow roads. We think nothing of driving around on them. Yes, a relief to have bought the wedding outfit!
Dang, those are some narrow roads. I used to drive down random dirt roads around my hometown just to see what was there. I lost and found myself several times doing that. It was always really fun and a little adventurous. I mean, some people may not think it's adventurous, but I did. Just a little.
