Cherry on the Top!

One of my bloggy friends, PencilGirl over at Conquering the World has awarded me the Cherry on the Top Award.  This is another new one to me, and I am absolutely thrilled to receive it.  Thank you so much PencilGirl!  Yours is one of the blogs that I always enjoy reading.  If you haven't met her yet, please do go over and say hello, and say that "thisisme" sent you!

I know, without any hesitation whatsoever, who I am going to pass this Award on to, and it is to our dear SkippyMom over at I Make Soap.  Along with Bouncin'Barb,  SkippyMom was one of the very first to welcome me to this blogging experience, and she has been Awesome (with a capital A!) ever since.  I hope she won't mind me saying that life isn't always easy for her healthwise, but her posts still manage to inspire us or make us smile, and I, along with lots of others, am very glad to be able to call her my friend.  She absolutely adores her family and that love and pride always shines through.  You don't have to do anything to receive this Award, Skippy, just enjoy it and know that you are loved!

I've been putting this off for a long time now, so I really must get down to listing five things about me that you might not already know about.  Here goes :

1.  I have lost three very good friends over the last few years, and they were all taken far too young  (the youngest being 47, one being 59, and my very good friend who passed away 18 months ago, was 64.

2.  In the 1960's I collected beer mats, and my hubby found my collection a couple of weeks ago.  I wonder if they might be worth any money now?!

3.   My faith is very important to me.

4.  I left school at 15 without taking any formal exams.  (I hated school!).  I then went to a Business College for two years, learning shorthand and typing and general admin work.

5.  I have been  rushed to hospital in an ambulance with the blue lights flashing!

Sorry that I couldn't make these more interesting for you, but I do find it very difficult to think of things, and, in my defence, I have done this on quite a few occasions since I started blogging, and it's difficult to come up with something different each time.

::blushing over here:: Thank you This. You are so, so kind. You have the blog I want to have. Sometimes I slip up and have a rant or two, but you, never. Truly a special friend and if I ever make it across the pond you are my first Tadpole visit! Then we'll skip over to Scotland and kidnap Lyndylou. giggle

Thank you my friend. :)

Shady - thank you dear friend, and I see that you have just garnered another one as well!

SkippyMom - If I was unable to get out and about very much, I would be ranting too, believe me! It was my pleasure to give you this Award. I just wanted you to know that you are very special to a lot of people. Hugs from across the pond!

Thisisme congrats on your latest bloggie award.
I know it is so well deserved. You are an inspiritation and encouragement to many here in the blog world. Me for one.
Im so sorry you have lost so many friends in such a short time and so young as well. Thats how hubby and I felt a couple years back. We lost about four friends in less than six months way to young as well.
Hugs
Blessings

Bethe77 - thank you for your kind comments. That must have been a terrible time for you and your husband when your lost so many friends in a matter of months. It really does make you realize how fragile life is.

Bouncin'Barb - How could I not give you a mention dear friend?! You've been there from the beginning, and you are, to me, what a true blogging friend is all about.

Becca - thank yoU! I had to struggle to come up with those five things, I must admit.

Odie - thank you. It is difficult coming up with stuff. I think this is the last one I will do. I'll have to come up with another idea for next time! Hope all is well with you my friend.

Jo-Anne Mother and Nanna - thank you so much. You are too kind!

Those were interesting - I love it when people write a little about themselves - we get to know them a bit better.

I am sorry about your friends - I lost two very dear friends to soon - one at 46 and one at 51 - my best friend - one year ago now.

And my faith is important to me too.

Hope you were okay with the ambulance ride!

Love,
sandie
