Haven't Seen This Award Before!

Hi there my little bloggy friends.  I do hope that you are all keeping well and behaving yourselves!

I must apologize once again for not always making my usual comments on your blog posts recently,  although I have been trying to keep up with reading them.

Whilst the family have been visiting here in Devon, the weather has been quite remarkable, with temperatures in the 20's, bright sunshine and clear blue skies.  I am just hoping that this isn't our summer, because that has happened before when we get a glorious spell early on.  BUT, I am going to think positive thoughts and just think that it will be a lovely day for the wedding.

Talking about the wedding, I thought that my daughter would probably have worn flowers in her hair, but whilst her sister has been home, they went to the local bridal shop and she has bought a full length veil.  I haven't seen it, but I have been told that it is absolutely stunning.  I am sure that she will look gorgeous, but of course, I am rather biased being a very proud mum!

With the wonderful weather, preparations have been continuing apace in the garden and I have selected a couple of photos of the new arch.  I love the colour that we have painted it - it is called Seagrass.

I love the colour of the flower heads on the chives at this time of year!

I received an e-mail from my lovely friend Melody-Mae and she asked me to accept the I Love This Blog Award, which she has also recently received.  This Award is new to me, and I was thrilled to be able to accept it.  If you haven't already read Melody-Mae's blog, please go over and say hello.  She is a very gentle soul, and I think that you will very much enjoy reading her blog.

Isn't this a sweet Award?!

I am just going to pass this Award on to one person.  To this end, I put the names of all my favourite blogging friends into a hat, and my granddaughter picked the winner, who is ..........

Colenic over at A Smile A Day - Colenic is more than deserving of this Award, and, again, if you haven't visited her blog before, please pop over and say hello!

As a recipient of this Award, I have to tell you five things about myself that you don't already know.  This is going to be hard, because I honestly can't remember what I've already told you about myself.  I will tie these things about myself in with The Versatile Blogger Award which was given to me by Caterpillar a little while ago.

I would like to award The Versatile Blogger Award to Desiree at Driftwood Ramblings.  This is another 'must read' Blog and I urge you to pay her a visit.  She can do with some bloggy love right now.

This post has gone on a bit, so I will list the five different things about myself in a post next week.

Your garden with it's lovely traditional arch and gazebo style arch, is looking absolutely wonderful, Diane! I can see exactly why your daughter has chosen to be married from home and I am sure everythig is going to work out perfectly on the big day!

Thank you for the thoughtful award, Daiane. I am truly honoured and touched, but when I first started blogging, I decided that if I were ever given an award, I'd sweetly & politely decline it. It really isn't that I do not appreciate this lovely gesture. It's just that I felt I wanted my blog to remain as I am. Unadorned! ;)

Big hug as always!!! xoxo

The photos of your yard are very inviting and the little gazebos (or seating areas) are adorable.
I gather this is all in preparation for your daughter's wedding?

And...congratulations of your "never before seen" award. It's fun getting them - so enjoy. You are a deserving recipient.

Have a lovely weekend,
Jenny

melody-mae -thank you so much. Sending hugs to you and your family.

Bethe77 - Thank you also Bethe, and for always popping over and leaving a comment.

Desiree - Oh, I quite understand that you want your blog to be 'unadorned'!! I think you probably made a wise choice there my friend, and I'm glad you like the garden. We have a formal part, then it leads into another part where we have a Summerhouse and playthings for the grandchildren, and the vegetable plot. It then leads on to the wild part with an orchard at the bottom, so we've got plenty to look after!!

PencilGirl - thank you. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Pearson Report - Yes, my younger daughter who is 32, is getting married on the 11th June, and the wedding reception will held be back here in the garden!

Beautiful yard! I'm sure your daughter will be lovely in her veil. Once upon a time everyone wore full veils.

As you can tell we all love looking at your pretty yard and all the work you and your hubby have done so that the wedding will be perfect. Please don't worry about the comments as we want you to enjoy the time with your family while they are with you. There is plenty of time for comments later. Have a great rest of your friday and an awesome weekend.

Hello, dear Thisisme! I read several UK-based blogs and everyone is commenting on the fine weather. I hope it lasts or at least returns in time for wedding day. That seagrass shade looks very similar to celadon, the color that was used to paint my dining room. Please pet Alfred and smooch Ruby for me. It surprises me that you never heard the song "Ruby Baby" before because it was #2 on the pop chart around March of 1963. I thought you'd be bopping to it on your jukebox!

Things look lovely!!!

Oh those Blog Awards! One has to pass them on. And one has to put their Button on your Sidebar. And etc. -sigh- That's why a lot of blogs have the "Award Free Blog" Button on their Sidebar. :-) Because a lot of us, got tired of the Award Merry-go-round.

That was some time ago. I don't still have it on my blog. But Blog Awards go in cycles. :-) Perhaps it's time to dig it out again.

But! That was just SOME of us! Not all blogs wish to be Award Free Blogs. Not all blogs don't want to do all one has to do, when one accepts an Award.

Just saying... :-)

Gentle hugs...
