We're Still On A High!!

Here we are at the Monday after the weekend before, and I thought perhaps there might be a little of the anti-climax about this week, but, in fact, we're all still on a high from the wedding on Saturday!

The family all set off back to France this morning, but we are going to be seeing quite a lot of them during the summer months, so that makes it much easier.

First of all, I really have to say a huge "thank you" to my dear daughter (number 1) and son-in-law, who were such a tremendous help in the few days leading up to the wedding, and all the clearing up yesterday.  They really are a fantastic pair, and I love them both dearly.  My daughter said that she would be the official photographer for her sister's wedding, to save them quite a lot of money, and, my goodness, didn't she do a tremendous job, and I hope you will agree when you look at the photos.

As you can imagine, she took hundreds, but I think a lot of you are interested in seeing some of the action and to share the  day with us, so, if it's alright with you, I thought I would post several photos on separate days this week.  I am very conscious that I might start to bore you with too many, and I would hate to do that, but, hopefully, I will get the balance right to give you just a glimpse of the day that we had.

I honestly can't think of anything that went wrong.  It all just seemed to go off so well, and we were delighted with every aspect of the day, from the marquee, to the (I'm sure you will agree) absolutely stunning flowers, to the food, and, last but by no means least, the weather!!  I was secretly a bit worried about how Elijah (Eli) and Ruby Violet would behave whilst the actual ceremony was going on, but they were brilliant.  No running around, or anything like that!

Anyway, without further ado, I shall share the day with you.  Please do not think that you have to post a comment on all my posts this week.  Just sit back and enjoy the view!

These were all taken in the garden before we set off for the wedding venue.

Diane, you have no idea how much it has brightened my day to come on line this afternoon and find this post first in my Google reader. What a lovely day it must have been, will certainly be following the photo show this week, you, your husband the bride and your granddaughter all look lovely. Thankyou so much for sharing these special moments.

LindyLouMac in Italy - I'm so glad it has brightened your day a little for you Linda, as I know that you must be feeling unhappy at the moment with the loss of your dear mum. Thank you so much for leaving such a nice comment.

Oh, Thisisme, I just can't believe how fortunate you all were that everything came together perfectly when it had to. I am elated and overjoyed! G-T is a superb photographer and deserves many thanks for capturing these images. Ruby Violet looks like a little angel! Far from being bored, I look forward to seeing as many pictures of the big day as you care to post. I can't wait to see "Best Bloke" Sir Alfred in his red bow tie! God bless!

Southhamsdarling said...

Shady - dear friend, you always manage to leave such sweet comments. Sir Alfred will be there with his bow tie, never fear! Didn't G-T do well with the photos. It was quite a responsibility really, having to capture the big day like that!

This, you are absolutely gorgeous. I know it's the bride's day but as the mother of the bride you look stunning. That dress suits you to a T. And hubby's tie goes so well with you! Your daughter looks so beautiful and so proud to be with both of you. I can't say I blame her. Can't wait to see more.

How great to start the week with such happy photos. By the way your outfit, which you were agonising about earlier this year, looked very elegant. It goes without saying that the bride was beautiful. You were so lucky with the weather, Saturday in London was a bit hit and miss with some heavy showers inbetween the sunny spells. I look forward to more photos.

Southhamsdarling said...

Bouncin'Barb - glad you liked the outfit!! It's the sort of colours I like wearing. Thank you so much for your sweet comments. More to come tomorrow!

Masia Mum - Thank you for the comments about my outfit. Fancy you remembering my worry about choice of outfits earlier in the year! Yes, my goodness, I can't tell you how lucky we were with the weather. No rain at all, and mostly sunshine. Lovely to see you here today.

Lovely... Lovely... Lovely...

What a cutie!

What a beautiful Mother of the Bride!

And how sweet you are, to tell us that we don't have to comment all that much. You are so sweet. I understand how you don't want to push on your Dear Readers.

But especially since you are so sweet, of course we want to comment!

And because all photos are so lovely, we want to comment. :-)

I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!! That everything went marvelously! You deserve it, but that doesn't always insure a perfect happening. The deserving of it, I mean. :-)

Absolutely gorgeous pictures, Diane! I truly NEVER get bored and so I echo Belle's request...LOTS more please :) I would have been so stressed if I were organising a wedding fom home, but when I see your pictures and how beautifully everything turned out, I'm inclined to think it's the nicest way to go. It's SO PERSONAL and intimate and looks as though you had a perfect, perfect day. Well done to you and your helpers for making it so special. You ALL look so relaxed and happy and beautifully/handsomely turned out and Ruby Violet is a little cherub! What great memories!!!

Southhamsdarling said...

Bethe - yes, little Ruby really is such a cutie! Can you believe that inside the cake was all chocolate, which was what they asked for. Mmmm! too yummy!!

Belle - Right then! Lots more photos to come my friend. Hee Hee! Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm glad you liked the photos.

Aunt Amelia - you are so right, that deserving doesn't always get!! I don't really expect my little friends to comment every day this week, because it's just photos, and people can't keep on saying the same thing, so I want them to (hopefully!) just enjoy the photos. Thank you for being so happy for me!

Desiree - thank you so much for your kind comments! It was a bit nerve-racking, but, thankfully, it was all perfect on the day, and you are right, because there were only 35 guests in the afternoon, it was much more intimate having it in the garden, and, of course, they didn't have to worry about the children because this is second home to them! Eli looked so lovely too, but wouldn't really keep still long enough for a photo!

Oh, I love weddings. The cake looks delicious. Then to learn it was chocolate - yummy. Your daughter looks beautiful, I saw that from the picture yesterday. But today I could see that you look beautiful too. I love your outfit. (I'm a relatively new follower.)

Hi Diane,
Beautiful photos, you've all done a great job. Thank you so much for sharing. You look so happy on the photo's with all rights. I'm glad everything worked out so well. You're little granddaughter is so cute, and she seem to be happy in front of the camera!
Absolutely B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Hugs from Ireland :-)

Grammy Goodwill - Yes, that cake was delicious! Not many of us like fruit cake, so that's why they opted for chocolate. I'm glad you liked my outfit. I would have preferred to wear proper court shoes, but I have very bad arthritis in my right foot, and I just can't wear lovely high heels any more! :(

melody- mae - thank you!!

Becky - Thank you! We had two trays of those cones as people walked out from the wedding ceremony, and they contained bio-degradable rose petals (instead of the usual confetti).

EvaMarie - thank you so much for your lovely comments. They are so much appreciated.

The bride looks stunning and you look lovely too, I like the colour of your outfit. I am assuming that the little cutie is Ruby Violet x

I finally got my keyboard to work so I came back to write a real comment [I missing the letters A,B & N - the horror]

Anyhoodle - I could NOT be happier for you - and want to let you know how gorgeous you all looked. WOW! One of you is more beautiful to the next, the flowers pale in comparison. :D

I am so happy that the weather held - that was all Pooldad and I could talk about Saturday and were tickled to find out it was perfect.

I simply cannot wait to see more, more, more - I swear we won't be bored.

So many lovely hugs across the pond~ [I want your fascinator and the Groom's pink tie for P/D since I will never fit in to your daughter's beautiful gown. heehee, just joshing!]

Oh my what beautiful photos and what a beautiful bride, and your granddaughter looked like such and angel. You look stunning and after all the worry about what you would wear.

What type of cake did she have?

Southhamsdarling said...

dubgirl - thank you so much. Yes, that's little Ruby Violet!!

Skippy - that was SO kind of you to come back and leave another comment! Thank you. I certainly wouldn't fit into my daughter's dress either. Both daughters have always been slim, but number 2 daughter definitely lost weight with all the excitement leading up to the wedding. To be honest, it's running around after those two little ones that keep her on the go all the time as well! That must be such a pain for you with your keyboard playing up like that. Grrrr!! xx

Kristina - thank you so much! Wow!, glad my site is now mobile friendly. A little comment came up a while ago about mobile phones, and I think I went into settings and said yes!

Anna- thank you so much!

Jo-Anne Ramblings - thank you for your nice comments. It was a pure chocolate cake inside, and was just so scrumptious!! Yes, I was pleased with my outfit in the end.
