That's a doozy, Thisisme! It's ironic how some dyed in the wool smokers can live to a ripe old age while others fall victim to the dangerous habit at an early age. Research seems to indicate that your genetic makeup has a lot to do with it. It was a gamble that I was willing to take for 30 years but this month marks 19 years since I quit cold turkey. I look forward to your post over on Perfect Dose of Life, dear friend!

Shady was right. Some folks seem to do whatever they want and keep right on living to a ripe old age while others that eat organic food and exercise drop dead young. However looking at the picture of my "Fantastic Five" I am sure one reason for their longevity is staying active. Have a marvelous day.

Shady - hi there dear friend. I haven't heard of that word before - "doozy", but you are right, it is so ironic that people who do everything right can die fairly young, whilst others who smoke and drink, can seemingly go on for ever with no visible health problems. Well done you anyway on giving it up for so long. Yes, my guest post is tomorrow!!

lyndylou - it is pretty funny, isn't it?!

Odie - Yes, it is really strange how life can work out, but you are right in staying active, both in mind and body. Hope you're having a good week over there my friend.

Bethe - Glad it made you smile today!

Grammy Goodwill - :)

Sush - yes, I agree, if she reached 100, she would be entitled to do what she liked!

Bouncin'Barb - Lovely to have you back my friend. I've missed you too! I agree with you that she could get up to all sorts on reaching that grand age!!

Claudia - glad you like the new header photo!

My hubby's father was an alcoholic and chain smoker who lived to be 87. No one liked him, but he did live! LOL

Did you take the picture at the top of your blog? It is wonderful.

Great picture :-) I also like the picture you have at the front of your blog - lovely flowers.
Have a lovely evening!

Belle - Hi there. Your father did very well then to get to 87 with his way of living! Yes, I took the header photo myself. It was the flowers that my daughter gave me just before her wedding.

EvaMarie - glad you liked the photo of the flowers as well. The sun has been shining and is still shining now at almost 9 p.m.! :)

Oh, that's hilarious!! If she's lived to be 100 by smoking, then I say "More power to her!" :-)

Becca - it is pretty awesome, isn't it?!

Susan - as you say, to reach that great age, she certainly deserves a cigarette!!!

Becky - More power to her indeed my friend!!

Absolutely LOVE your newest banner. Are the flowers from your garden?

Belive it or not, I knew an old lady who took up smoking on her 100th birthday. She reckoned she'd been good her whole life and that since it had served her well, there was no harm in taking on a few bad habits before she succumbed to the grave. So, each lunctime after that, she had half a glass of white wine and half a cigarette! She died shortly after her 103rd birthday.

Desiree - Hi! Glad you like the header photo. No, unfortunately, the flowers are not from my garden. My daughter gave me the bouquet a few days before her wedding, and they were from the lady that did all her wedding flowers, which were stunning. That's an amazing story of that lady. Good for her I say!
