Will the Men All Look Away Now Please!!

Hi there everyone.  I'm having a little break from blogging whilst I'm in Paris, but I've written this post to tie in with Carol over at facing50withhumour, as she has told me that it's my turn today in the Mini Skirt Contest, so, as I said in the title of this post, no men are to go peeking over there today! Hee Hee!

In my defence, I would say that I was standing up for "women of a certain age" but, on reflection, I think that should be "women past their sell-by date."  Oh well, it's too late to have second thoughts now. Just promise that you will be gentle with me!  Trouble is, I've made a huge mistake, because I tried to bribe the main Ajudicator (yes, that's YOU, Desiree), and she's been a bit sniffy with me ever since.  Ooops! Perhaps I should have offered her a bit more!

Anyway, it's in a very  good cause, as this is all leading up to a BIG PARTY here on the 16th September, courtesy of our dear friend Carol, in celebration of the launch of her first novel, "Mini Skirts and Laughter Lines".  I have read the e-book version and also have the paperback version, and it really is such a hoot.  If you enjoy reading Carol's blog as much as I do, then this is the book for you.  Mind you, quite what her hubby, son and poor mother think about its content, I dread to think!!!

I know that this party of hers is going to be so much fun! Our little bloggy friend The famous author is now working very hard, getting everything ready for the big day,  so thank you for that Carol! I shall be the first one knocking on your door - eeeek!! And here is a photo of the lady herself. Crikey, she's scrubbed herself up a bit since the last photo I saw of her!

I've heard it on the grapevine that the now very famous Ms Wyer is also going to be speaking to us through a video link on the 16th September.   That will be worth the price of the entrance ticket alone! Let's hope that those elecution lessons have paid off!!

Eeek! I've just realized that perhaps there are people out there in bloggyland who  might not understand the British sense of humour so, to cover myself, I should say that I love Carol to bits and everything is said in jest!

You are a shining example of how woman of a certain age should look and act!
ps the book holding photo is an absolute winner-how much do you reckon would Desiree settle for?
Enjoy your trip my fabulous friend and many thanks for joining in the fun.

Diane! What a tease you are...don't pretend you don't know very well that telling men not to do anything is a sure-fire way of getting them to do this instance, sweetly asking them to avert their eyes???

BTW, I was mortified to see someone claiming to be the bona fide Mother Grundy has impertinently shoved me right off the scene, claiming I'm an imposter! As I'm exceedingly dignified, I would not stoop so low as to contest her accusation and have decided to withdraw from my role as VIP. She seems to be doing a reasonably thorough job, so I'm sure Carol won't have any objection.

Anyway, that leaves me free to cosy up to you again! I must say it was becoming quite lonely in that questionably hallowed position. It's far nicer to be back with all the plebs!

It's raining and cold here, today...I hope you're enjoying glorious sunshiny weather in France :)

Big hug,
Des xoxo

You win. Those incredible legs! Why aren't you a model?

Shady Del Knight said...

Woo-HOO, Thisisme! I say, fair lady, you should have those legs insured for a million pounds by Lloyd's of London! After viewing your pictures I proceeded to take a cold shower with all possible dispatch. Seriously, you are a fine looking woman and you can be very proud of these photos. Give Alfred a pat and a biscuit for me and enjoy your stay in sunny (hopefully) France!

Great gams lady; B. Grable move over. An honor to share Carol's page with you today, but I would rather be strolling along with you on rue st honere. Enjoy Paris. You English gals do have a different jargon, but this contestant from Michigan got the gist. Nice to meet you.

Well, well, well it is always the quiet ones that surprise us...well not so quiet but as I said on Carol's blog in some form or other of these words...YOU ROCK! I do see a bit of campaigning going on Missy. Holding the book while standing next to the jukebox! You've got my vote and my deep respect for being a really fun blogger!

Enjoy your holiday...I'm guessing you may be doing the Can Can to keep those legs in shape!

Gawgus things - hope it wasn't too much of a shock for you!!

LindyLouMac in Italy - When are you going to submit your photo?! Come on now, don't be shy.

Carol - It was fun joining in with all of this. I see that Desiree doesn't want to be number 1 ajudicator any more!! :( Thank you for the very kind comments on your blog post today my leetle friend.

Desiree - I don't know who that other Mother Grundy is, knuckling in on yourlike that. I think we should seek her(or him!) out and expose them for what they really are. i.e. a big cheat! It is much more fun being down with the plebs though, isn't it?!

Dizzy - Come on Carol. Put that mini skirt on and get your photo in pdq!!

Linda - thank you, but I think you must have forgotten to pur your glasses on this morning! Hee Hee!!

Shady - Thank you dear Tom for those fun comments! Yes, been hot and sunny here in Paris today. Wonderful! (I thought I told you not to peek!!!).

Shelly - you are too kind!!

vintch - I know now that everyone is just being kind to me because of my age!! LOL!

SkippyMom - thank you so much my friend! You always say the nicest things.

Desiree - that's nice of you to pop back again!! Probably it is all the exercise I take and, of course, I don't drink any alcohol at all and, if you believe that, you'll believe anything!! LOL!!

Orchid - hallo dear friend. Thank you for your very kind comment. It is lovely and warm over here in Paris and the sun is shining, so I'm a very happy lady!

L.W. Roth - thank you SO much for popping over to say hallo today. I will visit you in a moment! I loved your photos and, especially, the gorgeous dress in the second photo. Lovely to meet you.

Now Thisisme, you know very well that if you tell men not to look they will make it a priority and I did. Your legs have not aged at all and you may very well have this competition wrapped up girl. Just speaking as a member of your fan club.

Shady Del Knight said...

I'm beginning to think that both Thisisme and Gawgus are fictional characters created by Alfred!

Odie- you're another naughty man, like Shady, but I forgive you, as you're a member of my fan club!!!
