Sunday Snap!

Hallo dear bloggies everywhere.  Well, in my little part of Devon during the past 24 hours, we have been on high flood alert, as it was forecast that a month's worth of rain was going to fall on us overnight.  Oh deep joy! We woke up yesterday morning, to find the garden looking like a lake, with great pools of water everywhere, and the garage had flooded.  Luckily, most things were up on pallets, because this has happened before.

However, my real sympathies lie with the poor people whose houses have been completely flooded on the ground floor.  It really is terrible, with all the mud and sludge that float through the house.  Usually, when this happens, it is a few months before the families can return to their homes.  So, we are the lucky ones today!

I just have ONE Sunday Snap today, and it is of my number one granddaughter - isn't she gorgeous?!  Oh, she is the blond one on the right hand side!  She is working at the French Open Golf Championship with her French friend, doing hospitality work, and she is absolutely loving it.    She will be very good at it, I know, because, although she is only fourteen and a half, she loves meeting people and chatting!

When she stays with me, she comes to my Ladies' group meetings, and they all absolutely love her, because she goes around talking to them all.  In fact, it's difficult to shut her up. LOL!!  As I said to her over the phone, she will be really good at this work, because she is really good at talking AT people.  Then I said, "Ooops, I mean talking TO people"!!  Fortunately she saw the funny side.

Anyway, here is my lovely Eleanor with her new best friend, Graeme McDowell, who was the 2010 US Open Champion.  Apparently, she tried to sign him up, as she didn't realize who he was.  He thought it was very funny, and signed her cap and also gave her a signed ball!

She'll go far that girl!

I hope you are all keeping safe in your little corner of the world and I hope you are having a lovely weekend.  See you again soon my friends.

Rain, rain, and more rain, that is the story here, but we are fortunate that we had not had the bad flooding. I have seen the pictures on t.v. in many parts of the country.

Dearest Diane,
Wow, I am SO sorry about the flood. In Japan, many houses got damaged by the flood annually in raniy season. This year is no exception... Happy for your preparation, my friend.
How lovely your granddaughter is ♡♡♡ And cute story(*^_^*) Mr. McDowell must be a nice real sports man☆☆☆ Adorable to read her bright character as well.
ps> Thank you very much for your heartfelt comments, really appreciate them.
Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako

I do hope the flooding eases for you all. We haven't had a rainy season in a couple of years, but I remember what that is like.

Enjoy the family!

As always your post is awesome and leaves me smiling. There is absolutely no doubt why you are so proud of your grand daughter. I expect to read many wonderful things she has accomplished with her bubbling personality and beautiful smile. That is an awesome picture and I am sure she will treasure it for a long time. Thanks for making my morning again.
Hugs,
Odie

Wow, what an honor to be working at the Open! Eleanor is growing into such a lovely, outgoing young woman! How funny that she didn't recognize the golf celeb...

What a mess to have flooding. I will hold those families in prayer and hope that the deluge ends soon and recovery begins quickly. It's such a shame that we cannot equalize the rain in places where it is so needed. I pray for rain to cool us all down here, as we continue to struggle with unbearable heat.

Take care my friend, and enjoy your week ahead.

Hallo, dear Thisisme! Sorry I'm late coming to see you today. I was up very late last night and it's hard to get rolling this morning.

My heavens! More rain for you? Rain certainly is no stranger in your region of the world. Would you say you are having an abnormally wet year thus far or is all this dismal weather typical? As you might know my community recently received more than 10 inches of rain when tropical storm Debby passed by to our north. The storm produced widespread flooding, evacuations and power outages. It spawned 7 tornadoes in our vicinity and at least four deaths were linked to the weather system. I hope your garden isn't ruined, dear friend, because it's beautiful and I know how proud you are of it. Fortunately your lovely home was spared. I hope those most affected by your storm will recover quickly with the help of friends and neighbors.

Even before I read your tag lines I was saying to myself that Eleanor is a young woman who will go places. I never met her but I have developed a keen sense of her through your blog. I can tell just by looking at her that she will be a smashing success at anything she chooses. Her beauty aside, it is her personality that will open many doors for her. When I look at her pictures I see a warm spirit shining from within. Gregarious by nature, intelligent and always learning more about her specific areas of interest, Eleanor will attract important people into her life and many opportunities will come her way. I get a very strong vibe about that girl. She is unstoppable like her mum. Look out, world!

Happy Sunday to you, dear Thisisme. I hope the sun shines on Devon in the coming week!

She is a beauty, like her mother and grandmother! It's a good sign that she converses easily with people. That is a major key to success. She can name her 'tune'! Hope you don't get too bogged under from the rains, (you could share some of it, you know)LOL! Love your roses, you have some of the most beautiful ones! Thank you for following me in Pinterest. I think I might be catching on to it, duh, you know, at first it takes a while. Hugs to you and yours. ♥

What a fun thing for your granddaughter to do! I am so envious of your rain, but not the flooding. We are in the midst of a heat wave with temps in the 100's. It's supposed to cool down this week. Take care.

She radiates joy. You are blessed with an outgoing, pretty granddaughter. So glad you were not affected by the floods we've been hearing about.

How fun for Eleanor. She will go far. Strange you all have floods and we have drought and are toasting. I told Joe today I felt as if we were in one of those end of the world films where there is no rain or water and only heat.

I hope this rain will stop soon, floods can be so destructive. What a great experience for your granddaughter. Make sure to tell her to keep that signed golf ball, it might be worth something pretty soon. :)

Your granddaughter Eleanor is beautiful with a winning personality and smile! That was a cute story about trying to sign up the winner of the 2010 Open. Thank goodness you had no major floor damage, my heart goes out to the ones who did suffer some more serious damage.

Oh, your rose blog header is out of this world! ♥
