Sunday Snaps!

Happy Sunday everyone! Well, guess what, we have a lovely, warm and sunny day here at the moment, and it's forecast for the rest of this week, so it would seem that summer has finally arrived here in my little corner of the world.  Of course, the family are driving back to France at this very moment, so it's a real shame that we only had two dry days whilst they were here.  Never mind, they will be back again in August, so, hopefully, they will be able to go to the beach then.

I wasn't really intending to do a Sunday Snaps feature today because I have been feeling so weary again over the past few days.  I think I managed to keep going for the week when Eleanor and I were out and about every day, and quite a few evenings as well, but I think I will probably just collapse in a little heap during this coming week and try to recharge my batteries a little.

We really did so much though, and had a fun time together, which really is priceless.  Went to see the Musical, "Grease", which was absolutely fantastic, and also saw an open air spectacular on Plymouth Hoe which, again, was brilliant.

We also went on lots of day trips, plus meals out, along with a wonderful Spa & Pamper Day at a new Spa which recently opened in a hotel on the coast.

On just one of the two dry days that we had during that time, we went on a lovely river trip up the River Dart to visit Agatha Christie's house, "Greenway", which Eleanor really enjoyed looking around, as she loves Poirot and Miss Marple!

Some other news, and here again, my facebook friends will have to close their eyes, because poor little Ruby broke her arm on Thursday evening, by falling down some stairs.  It was a really bad break and she had to have a little operation and her arm is now in a purple plaster cast! Luckily, little ones are very resilient, and I'm sure she will sure be bouncing back! She is still in a lot of pain, but they are hoping that the cast might be able to come off in just two weeks, which is remarkable really. I know that, here in the United Kingdom, we are very grateful for our  National Health Service, but, sometimes, they are so overstretched, that it's unbelievable really.  Ruby arrived at the hospital by ambulance at 9 p.m. on the Thursday evening, and she didn't go into Theatre until the Friday afternoon at 3.30 p.m.  That's an awfully long time, when you have a little one in so much pain.  Here she is in the summer house, trying to play chess!!

In amongst all this, hubby celebrated his 68th birthday, so it's hardly surprising I'm feeling a bit worn out by it all!!

I do hope that all my friends all over the globe are keeping well and managing to relax a little amongst the hurly burly of everyday life.  Take care and we'll meet up again soon.

What an eventful time you have had! I am so very glad little Ruby is doing better. What a fright that must have been for everyone! Eleanor is beautiful and you two had such wonderful adventures together! Happy birthday to your hubby- I love the candle on his cake!

My sister left yesterday too, after a wonderful 10 days here on the Cape with me. We had a fab time, just the two of us. Now I'll be alone (with my dog) for another 10 days before Hubby gets here. Visitors are fun, but eventually, we have to get "back to normal" and into our usual rhythms again or we go squirrley--at least I do. Rest up.

You know how awful I feel about this, Thisisme. Dear little Ruby Tuesday Violet first stole my heart nearly two years ago. She is precious and I love her and it makes me miserable to think of her having to endure so much pain for so long. Young bones heal quickly, though, and young minds are resilient. Soon enough this terrible ordeal will be a vague and distant memory.

The stress of Ruby's fall along with the hectic slate of activities you kept with Eleanor no doubt got the best of you, dear friend. It's time for you to slow down and rest. Last night at bedtime I said a prayer asking for Ruby's speedy and complete recovery. I also prayed that you will regain your strength so that you can fully enjoy your life and your upcoming October holiday. Please take care of yourself, dear Thisisme, and know that friends around the world are thinking about you and your family and wishing you well. Bless!

I did stumble across a FB comment regarding Ruby after it all heppened and wondered what I had missed but was glad to know that everything was under control and on the mend.
Was happy to know you had such a good visit and the opportunity to see and experience wonderful places and shows. Please let sweet Ruby know I am praying for her quick recovery here across the pond. Take care
Hugs,
Odie

It has been a busy week for you so Nurse Barbara insists you get some rest!! I'm sure the vacation for Eleanor was wonderful and she didn't mind the wet weather. Just being with Grandma and Grandpa is always the best vacation. I love the picture of Hubby's birthday. Little Ruby is looking up at it and is trying to blow out the candle from the looks of it. How precious! Happy Birthday Hubby!! Hugs my very most awesome friend!!!

Poor little Ruby. I hope she's feeling better. When my granddaughter broke her arm, the stress of it caused her hair to fall out!

Enjoy your relaxing time and rest up for the next round.

I am so sorry to hear about poor little Ruby. Bless her heart. What an ordeal that must have been for her. I also can imagine how tired you must be after such a fun family visit. It does sound like all of you had a wonderful time together.

Diane, you have been busy and better get some rest. I would dearly love to see Agatha Christie's home. I read all her novels when I was a teen and then read them again later. You British are the very best writers of mystery. No one does it better. Little Ruby will be fine and I sure and probably will not remember it all later on. Happy Birthday to your hubs. xoxo, Olive

Poor baby. I'm so sad that she had to go through so much for her broken arm. But, little ones are so resilient that before too long, she won't even remember that experience.

Happy birthday to your hubby!

Loved the pictures of your day trips. I know they were wearing on you so be sure to rest up!

Dearest Diane,
Oh, poor baby; how frighted she was and for all of you!!! Truly, I had broken my right arm when I was a high school girl. It sure was painful and uncomfortable experience.
It seems you have had busy days; I hope you are doing fine, my friend!
Happy Birthday to your beloved husbad♡♡♡

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

I miss so much when I just hear your news on FB. This post was full of lively and lovely things you've been up to. I had no idea Ruby had to wait so long to have her surgery on her arm. I do hope she is feeling much better now!
I hate you are feeling tired, but I honestly know how it is. I spent the morning watching Kate and she was not feeling well so we did a lot of walking and rocking while I was standing which always seems to attack me at my weak point...my back!
It wasn't that long since you were having surgery yourself, so I do hope you are resting up, preparing for the Olympics! I can't wait to see what you all have in store for the rest of the world...I'm sure it will be fantabulous!

I am surprised you are still standing my friend. Whew! I was winded just reading about all the excitement.

But poor Ruby - that IS a long time to wait and in such pain. I am glad that she is mending now, but I am sure it was the most worrisome of times for y'all.

I got quite a giggle out of Hubby's birthday cake and the candle! Sweet! And the kidlets look very impressed. I like the idea - may try it out on Pooldad next year. Thanks.

Rest up, as I am sure you need [and most deserve] it.
