Funny how things come into your mind when you are just sitting relaxing. For some reason, I began to think about Hollywood actors and how good looking they seemed to be when I was young. They don't make them like this any more !
What do you think?
Burt Lancaster |
Steve McQueen |
Tyrone Power |
Montgomery Clift |
Paul Newman |
Clark Gable |
James Dean |
Tony Curtis |
Richard Burton |

Dearest Diane,
I just came home from errand for the memorial service I am expecting and opened PC; wow they are all my idols(^^;) I have to prepare for the class and dinner, but couldn't resist commenting, haha!!!
East of Eden, Gone with the Wind, Papillon, The Towering Inferno, and one of my favorite detective stories "Hart to Hart".....
Although I am not familiar with their personal lives, what great guys or actors they are(♥^_^♥)~*
Thanks for taking me back for the good memory of them, made me wish to see their movies again p;)
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
Hallo, dear Thisisme! I insist that Alfred's mug shot belongs up there among the other legendary hunks! (LOL) I could just as easily post a dozen of my favorite vintage leading ladies and say "they don't make 'em like that anymore." I remember how much my mother loved Burt Lancaster but disliked Clark Gable. (Frankly, my dear, Clark didn't give a damn! :) My personal favorites here are Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Tony Curtis. Mrs. Shady and I have just started watching reruns of Miami Vice, the innovative mid 80s TV cop series and she is positively smitten by Don Johnson and I by Saundra Santiago. Thank you for a nostalgic and thought provoking post, dear friend Thisisme, and happy Wednesday to you!
I think you have something there, my friend. I don't know if it's the changing tastes and styles, or if it's just because we are getting older. There is a group, One Direction, my daughter loves and she thinks each is so good looking, but I think they look 12 (they are in their late teens and early 20's, I think.)
I so agree, they were men!
Amen! You don't come across real men like this today ;) that often. Lovely post Diane. Enjoy your evening and thank you for your nice comment on my blog. I have been out on a nice and refreshing walk this evening, it was so nice. And the mountains looks beautiful towards the clear sky. Big hugs x
great looking men!
You sure know how to pick 'em, Thisisme! All I can say is ummm...ummm! That Tony Curtis was a babe, n'est-ce pas? And, when I watch them in the old movies, I marvel even more, just like I'm seeing them for the first time. You're spot on! They don't make them like that anymore! Loved this remembrance. And, I love your new header photo, so private and relaxing! See you soon, my friend!♥
Paul Newman is my all time favorite, but Steve McQueen is a close second. :)
I think they are all yummy! I love watching the old movies.
What about Sean Connery!
I had some really good times watching some of them growing up and they had something todays actors just don't seem to have.
They just don't make them like that anymore do they?
Oh yes!YUM! Aren't they wonderful looking. So nice hearing from you.Yes,It is fun receiving tags in the mail from all over the world, but really they are only from England, Australia and the U.S. Denise
