Tis September Once More....

Once again September mornings are with us, as we start to say goodbye to summer for another year. The leaves will soon be changing their colour and we will be in that season of mists and mellow fruitfulness once more.

You might remember what I said back in May about that being the month that I was always hopeful of a lovely balmy summer ahead. Sadly for us here in England, that wasn't meant to be, as we were deluged with rain for most of our summer months.

We did have a Great British Summer though, with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and all the spectacle that that entailed, followed closely by the Olympic Games, London 2012, in which our athletes performed magnificently, coming third in the medals table.

Even now we have the Paralympic Games taking place, and what an inspiration they are proving to be, so, yes, we have been blessed.

I went through a spell of Ill health, but I am recovering well, and truly thankful to be here to see the start of another season. I celebrated my 65th birthday back in the spring and I am surrounded with the gift of friendship and the love of my family, and who could ask for more than that.

My wish for all my bloggy friends, for I consider you to be true friends, is that you will be blessed with good health and love as you all enter this new season with me.  I hope my American friends enjoy their holiday weekend over there.

As to me, well I am still in Paris, and will be arriving back home on Monday evening.  My Facebook friends will know that I had a lovely visit to Monet's Garden at Giverny, and I will post some photos next week.

Until then, look after yourselves and know that I think of you often.

"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer."

Happy September 1st.

Once again you have a most beautiful photo up there as your header - what a photogenic family. And how the little ones are growing.

Enjoy your time in Paris. I am pleased to read your health is steadily improving.

I look forward to your photos, next week.

Bon jour,
That was a lovely post and I couldn't be happier knowing that you are doing so well with your health and having the opportunity to visit with family in Paris enjoying the awesome weather. I truly consider you closer to me than some of my actual relatives and being able to stay in touch is such a joy. About the holiday, I will actually be working as I have 4 assignments to do on monday since the next 4 days will be filled with lots of hours. After being off 4 days it won't be so bad. Have a safe travel back home.
Hugs,
Odie

Hallo, dear Thisisme! It's wonderful to receive this postcard from Paris and to know you are in good health and spirits and getting around to see the sights. England's disappointing summer weather disappointed me as well because I was hoping you would have many sunny days to enjoy tending your garden and exploring scenic Devonshire as you recovered from your operation. Next summer will be better, just wait and see. Keep in mind that your getaway with Eleanor is fast approaching and it will surely be a fun filled and sun bathed holiday for the two of you. I cheated and Googled images of Monet's Garden at Giverny and it is breathtaking. I am eager to see the photos you took there. Enjoy your weekend, dear friend. Give Alfred a pat and a biscuit and have a safe trip back home to Devon. Hugs and smooches!

How lovely it is to hear you are in Paris with those you love and that you are feeling well. I'm so glad. I'm looking forward to the photos and I love the one on your header. I enjoyed the Olympics so much and thought London did a marvelous job. God bless.

A lovely post my friend. It is indeed such a shame that the weather was so unkind to the Uk in what has indeed been a special year. I look forward to the rest of your photos having glimpsed already the ones you shared on FB.

Hi Thisisme! I still call you Thisisme on your blog, because, it's such a unique title for you. It's good to see you here, and, I've really loved your Paris photos so far! I'm glad you're recovering, and, I see you stay in very good spirits. I love your quote...and, oh, Autumn, hurry up! I do hope, though, upon your return home, you are greeted with nice, sunshiny skies! Hugs to you!♥

I was so happy to see that you had a post today. Now the mystery is solved about where all of our rain went! I love autumn, too, but it's always bittersweet, because I know what's coming a round the corner! (And, that is NOT my favorite season.)

Hi Diane, I agree with Claudia I too love the colors when the leaves are shifting. We can only look forward and hope for a better summer next year, I am hopelessly optimistic :) I am happy to see that you've had such a lovely time there in Paris, we can live on those moments for a long time. It's getting slightly cooler and I have started to go to the gym instead of running outside, new routines but I love it and it's just around the corner from where I live. Enjoy your Sunday my friend and looking forward to see the pictures.
Hugs x
