Reflections and Memories ....

Today, my friends, is a day of reflections and memories for me, because it was four years ago today that my very dear friend, Doreen, passed away after a short illness.  It seemed that one minute she was with us and the next, she was gone.

We always went walking together, or shopping, or just to a coffee shop for a cappuccino and a toasted teacake.  We always had plenty to chat about, even though we saw so much of each other, and I always felt that she really looked out for me.

We also used to take holidays together.  Only a few months before she passed away, we went to Dubrovnik together and had such a lovely time.  Doreen was on top form and looked so well.  It just goes to show that no-one knows what is round the corner and we really should try to make the most of each and every day.

Happy Memories Doreen.  You will never be forgotten.   God Bless.

for your friends 'til they are dead.
Do not write them on their tombstones
Speak them rather now instead."

HI Diane,

It is sad losing a good friend. I think it's great that you always remember her and have written this lovely post about her. I also love the "loving speeches" short poem.

Hi Dianne

Thinking of you, friends do mean a lot, you are blessed that you have happy memories of your friend, but it is still very hard to lose a friend and companion and you are right, none of us know when our last day on this earth will be, sobering thought. Nice poem btw.

God Bless sending you Hugs, Nita.

If Doreen was a dear friend of yours, sweet Thisisme, then surely she would have been a dear friend of mine as well. This is a sad anniversary for you to observe but you are doing a fine and noble thing in keeping memories of Doreen alive and sharing them with your new friends around the globe. Doreen was lucky to have a friend like you, Diane. We all are. God bless you!

The comfort that comes from a friend like Doreen has impacted the world, as her kindness and support flows through you. This is a lovely tribute and an uplifting post. I'm sorry that you don't have your friend with you in the flesh, but I'm sure her spirit can be felt in your heart.

What a loss--her passing has left a gaping hole in your life. I am glad you have so many grand memories to hang on to and cherish as you remember her. When I think of my friend Lesley, who died too young, I ALWAYS see her smile and hear her laugh. Her love of life was the best thing about her. A happy memory.

What a lovely tribute to a woman whose legacy still lives on so warmly. I'm so sorry she had to go too young, but her memory and life will live on with all her friends.

You will never know how much you miss her till you see their vacant chair.

Sorry of your dear friend.

Memories are golden. You have pictures of her. That is great.

I have myself loss so many dear friends.

It does leave a void in your

heart.

I know that God always sends

others to fill that void at the right time.

He has with me. He will you.

You will never ever forget them.

Dont take me wrong. I say when they went my friends. The Lord
wanted them. Who am I to say no to the Lord. We are sort of lent
out in this big world. When the Lord wants them back . We have to accept their
journey. Hard as it may seem.

See you have friends now that comment on your loss.

That is what it is all about.

Blog friends are like family.

They care. Here and far.
