Remembering ......

Remembering ....

Who could ever forget watching this horrendous tragedy unfold on our television screens? I can certainly remember exactly where I was at that time.  The horror of it all - you literally couldn’t  believe what your eyes were seeing. Amazingly, it was eighteen years ago today.    It really was like watching something out of a horror movie - all the poor souls leaping from windows of their offices, and the brave men and women of the emergency services that entered those buildings, without even thinking of the danger to their own lives. They were just thinking of rescuing as many people as they could.

On the eve of September 11th, 2001, people would be lying beside their loved ones for the last time. Millions of Americans went to bed, without knowing the horror that they would be waking up to.

I think what I am trying to say, is that we never know what each day may hold, so we really must try to live this wonderful life that we have been given, to the fullest and truly rejoice in each and every day.

We must tell our loved ones that we love them and how much they mean to us.

My thoughts and prayers today go out to America, and we must continue to pray, in these still troubled times around the world, that good WILL prevail against evil....

Hi Thisisme! Thank you for coming by to remember this tragic day. Karo and I had been married almost 1 year during that month, and I was already at work downtown Fort Worth when this horrifying event occurred. One of my coworkers had a small TV in our office and it happened as she was watching the news. I didn't believe it at first and thought it might be a comedy skit, but, oh gosh-it wasn't.

Since we worked downtown in a high rise building, our managers were worried about our safety also, since and further actions were unpredictable. Of course, our home office was the New York downtown Stock Market, which abruptly closed down. My boss sent some of girls home, and just kept a small crew for the next few days! It was devastating to say the least, and still hard to believe that so much hatred and cruelty exists! I don't think I will ever understand why this happened, and the atrocities that have followed in recent years.

Thank you for your caring and loving post, Thisisme! Take care dear friend! ♥

Thank you Suzanne for your comment. Gosh, it must have been such a worry with working in a high rise block. Even today, I don’t think people can believe it all actually happened. Everyone over here truly felt the pain and shock of all Americans. Let’s pray that our world may become a safer place, for our children and grandchildren. When it actually happened, my friend’s Son was in mid air on the way to America! They were diverted to Canada. Look after yourself my Texan friend ❤️!

Such a tragedy that still makes me cry all these years later. Thank you for the tribute. You are so right, we should make everyday count!

I know what you mean, Linda. It still doesn’t feel quite real, even after all these years. Let’s pray that nothing like that ever comes to pass again.
