Oo La La!!

I love quotations of all kinds, but I think the one I have chosen today is just a little bit special!

“I  love  you  not  only  for  what  you  are,  but  for  what I am  when  I am  with you."
source unknown.
On Monday I am flying over to Paris to be reunited with my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and Alfred!  I seem to be very lucky this summer, as I am seeing them a lot more than usual.  They live just outside Paris, but I will make sure that I go in and take some photos for my blog!  I am hoping that it will be a lot warmer over there!
I am looking forward to relaxing, sitting on their Terrace in the garden, with a chilled glass of something or other - and, no, it won't be lemonade!
Whilst I am away I will be keeping a close eye on that cheeky mynx, Carol, over at facing50withhumour.  Most of you will know that she has a Mini Skirt Competition going on  over there at the moment (all of a sudden, there are a lot of MEN commenting on her posts! Funny that!!), and there seems to be quite a lot of cheating going on.
Now I believe that I am going to be featured early next week, so I will tell you more about why this competition is taking place  at that time.  Just to make sure you tune in to see my photo, I will give you a sneak preview below.

Hee Hee!!

Sorry I couldn't make it any more interesting for you today folks, but my inspiration seems to have deserted me just at the moment!

The prospect of seeing (oogling) you in a mini IS interesting, Thisisme! I'm sure you'll give the competition a run for their money. It's hard for me to believe that you're hoping for "warmer" weather in Paris while I've been sweltering in 95 degree heat every day for months. I know you'll have a fine visit and I look forward to your pictures of Paris (and Alfred!) Have a great weekend, dear Thisisme!

Happy to hear, that now, you can see my posts.

As I said, I always use Google Reader, to see when blogs have a new post. And I can always either read them there, or go to the blog, and read them. I like to visit the blog itself, since I like people to come to my blog.

I think you must only read Blogger blogs, on a list of Blogger blogs. Perhaps that's why you have problems. Since I am now on Wordpress.

As I said, I always use Google Reader. It shows all posts. Those on Blogger, and on Wordpress, and on Typepad. I read blogs, from all places.

But that is my way. Each blogger can find new posts, how she chooses.

Enjoy your trip!

Linda - thank you! Hee Hee to the little tease bit!

Orchid - I can hardly believe it, but it's been really quite chilly over here for the past few days :( I even had to put a heater on last evening - in the middle of August!!

Shady - now I want you and Odie to behave yourselves! LOL! Will take pics to show you my friend. Hope you have a good weekend.

Claudia - yes, it will be fun, I'm sure!

SkippyMom - thank you so much for all your good wishes my dear friend.

rainbow (or rather, dustbow!) - Yes, I'll think of you all as I'm sipping something cool and alcoholic! Hopefully you will get some rain over there whilst I'm away.

EvaMarie - thank you! I expect you're still catching up after getting back from your holiday. It soon gets back to normal, doesn't it?! Hope you have a good, chillaxing weekend my friend.

Aunt Amelia - yes, I was pleased to be able to read your posts again. I'm not sure how to use Google Reader - ??

Bethe - hi there. Yes, I'm sure you WILL have a giggle when you see the mini skirt photo. I thought I had to make a stand for 'a woman of a certain age!'
Blessings to you.

I am overjoyed that you are getting to spend time with relatives and Alfred so much. I have a blog friend that just spent a week or so with her mom & dad in Germany only to get back to the USA and her dad dies. I was so glad that she had that time with him. So it's important to be with our family as often as we can.
I think as far as the contest goes, you have a very good chance Thisisme.
Have an awesome time in France.

So glad you are getting over to France to see the family. You have been blessed to see them this much. I like that. Hope it is warm and sunny everyday that you are there. Enjoy it and sneak Alfred into a big handbag or carryon or something! Hugs my awesome friend!

Odie - oh, that is so sad about your friend who lost her dad just after she returned to the U.S. You are quite right, we must spend as much time as we can with our families. Thank you for your kind comment about the competition! I think I'll need all the help I can get my friend. Have a lovely relaxing weekend.

Bouncin'Barb - yes, I have been so lucky to be spending so much time with my family. It would be lovely if I could get some warmth and sunshine whilst I'm over there. Take care my awesome friend. Hugs.

Hi Diane...
I love your quote and it's from a Johnny Mathis song...When I Am With You...one of my favorites! What fun to be in France with your family all together again! I'll be keeping my eye posted for your mini skirt competition...glad you had Gawgus talent in the photographer category. I'm not sure a male photographer could have held his camera steady with your awesomeness!

Hugs~

I love quotes, Paris, and mini skirts. Yes, I've been hitting facing50withhumor. Please don't rat me out to Jilda :)

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. Ahhhhhh, Paris. A place I can only go in my dreams. However, you have a wonderful time and enjoy your daughter. Mine lives on the East Coast and I won't be able to see her this year.

Please read the post about "How I Acquired the Name Betty Boop" (#26 -see my archives for 2010 + Septmeber) because it describes what happened to me in a mimi skirt similar to the one you saw..............kt.

paris sounds like so much fun. i hope you have a great time!

i've never worn a mini-skirt in my life. my dad didn't allow them when i was growing up and i just never did as an adult. i have pretty good looking legs, but they don't get seen in a mini-skirt.

Belle said...

I love the quotation! I'm so happy for you that you are going to visit your family. Have a wonderful time. I love the photo of you in a mini-skirt. Lovely legs!!

Southhamsdarling said...

Sush - well, that was really interesting about the Johnny Matthis song! It must be a lovely song to have that quote in it. I will have to google it and see if I can listen to it somehow. Don't know so much about awesomeness - more like awfulness!! Hee Hee!!

EmptyNester - thank you so much for your kind comments about my blog! Yes, Carol's party is going to be great. She must have put so much effort into it for us all. She really is a hoot, isn't she?!

Life101 - Your secret about visiting Carol's blog is safe with me!! Hee Hee!

kt - lovely to see you here today. Yes, Paris is such a romantic city. A pity that you won't be seeing your daughter this year. I forget about the huge distances in America! I will look up that post of yours, although it probably won't be until the end of the weekend.

Teresa - your dad must have been pretty strict, but I guess for a reason my friend. I was there when they first came out! Eeek! Hope you and Ron have a good weekend.

Belle - hi there. You've followed Teresa today, which is nice. Lovely to see you here. I thought the quotation was really lovely. The full photo of me in the mini skirt will be on Carol's blog next Tuesday! Eeek! (I am banning Odie and Shady from going over to see it. LOL!!).

LindyLouMac in Italy - thank you and, yes, you're right, I must put the blogging aside for a while. I have a post already written for Tuesday, because it links up with facing50with humour's post on that day, but apart from that, I shall just try to concentrate on relaxing and having a good time!!

Katherine's Corner - I'm looking forward to Paris my friend and to seeing the family again (although they were only here a couple of weeks ago. LOL!). Thank you for your good wishes for the mini skirt contest. My friend, having seen the other competitors so far, I don't stand a chance. Still, it's all a bit of fun, isn't it?!

Desiree said...

Thank you so much for your delightful comment on my blog this evening, Diane! I've decided to share my seat with you! You're tiny enough to easily squeeze in next to me and fill the bit that's left after I've spilled out on my side ;)

Southhamsdarling said...

Desiree - Ooooh! How exciting that I can share your seat right in the front row! I will go on a diet until the big day so that, hopefully, I won't take up TOO much room. Hee Hee!! This is all jolly good fun, isn't it?!
