Frolicksome Friday!

Hi there little Bloggies. Hope you're all doing well on this Frolicksome Friday! Do you ever like using words to match a day of the week.  It can be fun trying to come up with something a little different.

For example, we could have a Melodious Monday, a Tantalizing Tuesday, a Worrysome Wednesday, a Tainted Thursday, a Fantasmagorical Friday, a Supercilious Saturday and, finally, a Serendipitous Sunday!

Well, as you can see, I'm feeling in a silly mood today, as I try to come up with something worth reading!  I may be in the autumn late summer of my life, but I still love being silly and having fun.  That's why I like it when the family are here, because we do usually have some laughs.  Hubby, on the other hand, doesn't really 'do' fun.   He is really good in the work situation, and, in his position as a County Councillor, he does tremendous work, and everyone looks up to him.  He is on the Cabinet of the Council, so he has responsibility for a huge number of issues, and works extremely hard.  He is also brilliant if anything goes wrong, either in the house, or just generally.  We can rely on him to sort things out.  I can remember several instances when the girls were young children, and had accidents of one sort or another, I would tend to go to pieces, but he would just take charge, so thank goodness for that I say!  But "fun" - not really, although he does surprise us from time to time by saying something witty!  We all stop then and say, "oh we must write this date in our diary. Dad has said something funny."

He might be important at work, but it doesn't hold any sway once he's home with us! LOL!!

In my last post, I mentioned that we must always have HOPE, and I received a comment from a dear bloggy friend, and she explained that she had been on a downer all this year, and that it was her bloggy friends that were helping to keep her sane.  She had read about having 'hope' and said that it had really made her think about things, and how she must try to get her old self back again.  She went on to say that God uses our posts in ways that we may never know, which I found quite touching.

So, to you, all my dear bloggy friends, I know that there are lots of you out there who are suffering pain, going through dark times, and struggling to cope with certain situations in your life, but I really do pray that 'hope' will always burn in your hearts, for if we don't hang on to that, then all is lost.

What a great ending to a lovely post. And yes, you are always fun, your words are very alive. As for your friend, I could easily understand that she was grateful for her blogging friends, I also am looking forward to receive comments and emails, they do brighthen my day.

And to your darling hubby, whom I know you love so much (as I do mine), well men are sometimes dfferent, their priorities lie in other areas, but one thing is precious: to know you can rely uoon them, that is an amazing gift. And I have to admit that my husband is very similar to yours.

Happy Friday, weekend ahead!

You put a smile on my face and happiness in my heart reading this today. It's interesting how sometimes opposites attract. Now my husband is funny and can be as silly as I sometimes, but I'm usually the really crazy silly one! I've even been known to wear sunglasses to bed to surprise him. Nothing like sleeping with a movie star is what I told him!
Like Claudia, I appreciated your HOPE notes and phrases!
Have a Fantasimo Friday and a Whirlagiggy Weekend!
Hugs~

Dearest Diane,

First of all, I just happened to tried to open blogger "Yahoo" not "Google Chrome", and it worked??? PC-world is always a mystery for me(^^;) Anyway, I haven't lost track of you, thank God!

Oh, this is surely a beautiful post and I was really moved♡♡♡ I think your dear husband has close to my father's character. My father always had been dependable person for mom and us. Haha, not so much of a funny man. I didn't understand what you said "his important work doesn't hold any sway once he's home with us", after I checked the phrase with dictionary, you gave me a smile.
Thank you for the lovely post and I will keep having "HOPE"☆☆☆
Lots of Love and Many Hugs to you, xoxo Miyako*

I'm here, dear Thisisme, although understandably late. Every family needs a rock like your husband - a serious minded person capable of handling all sorts of problems and emergencies. By assuming that role and allowing the rest of you to enjoy a more carefree life, he is demonstrating his love for you. You are all lucky to have him.

Hope is the word of the day on this "fretful, freaky Friday." Illness, death and family crises continue to plague our various blog friends and sooner or later we all have our turn. Yet we must allow hope to spring forth perennial as the grass for w/o it we are indeed lost. I am very grateful for your friendship, dear Thisisme, and I wish you and your family a safe and happy weekend!

I'm back.My husband sounds a lot like yours in some ways.Although He does like to tell jokes.Jokes really aren't funny to Me not my kind of hummer but for 35 years I just laugh when He tells one.I think the Lord uses the computer for His benefit. For a while I was concerned about the topic, but We do lift each other up and I try to lift Is ways through My blog as best I can-Try anyway.Denise

What a sweet post! If there's one thing I never lose sight of, it's hope. I don't know why but I am grateful! My husband is the same way about saying funny things- I think he averages about 2 every year. LOL

My hubby also doesn't do fun, although he will at times say things like I am in a good mood and just having a bit of fun but his idea of fun is to say silly and insulting comments about stuff this happens when he is drunk and then he gets pissed off because we have taken offense to what he has said......

Hope I think we all need to have hope and to try and look at the positvie things in our lifes.......

This was such a thoughtful blog post and I like the topics. I was brought to tears again reading what you wrote, but in a good way. This week has been one little "crisis" after another for me. Each day there seemed to crop up another situation and the worst part is every one of them were health related involving my family and myself! They have turned out okay, still waiting results of one test. Hope is so important and I make every attempt to hang on to it. I've had the old Albert E. Brumbley classic on my mind, "Jesus Hold My Hand". I love that song. Diane, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Your header photo is out of this world! Thank you so much for your visit and comment on my blog. ♥

Well we certainly could not live without hope. My dh had a stroke 10 years ago and we have never lost hope for a better tomorrow for him and we always look forward to better days. We will never lose hope. Hugs...Lu

I read this a day or so ago, but had trouble commenting. Thank you for your hope wiseness...you are right my friend. I have issues in which I think I should give up hope. If it werent for my wonderful husband Karo, I don't know how I'd carry on sometimes, although, he sees me as the rock. Okay, I'll continue to keep the faith and hope...I haven't really given it up, yet! Thanks Diane♥
