Sunday 1 December 2013

Tis the Season ....

Happy Sunday little bloggies.  Here we are then, at the beginning of December.  Ho Ho Ho!!

I might just go a little crazy over the next few weeks.  Why?!  I just love Christmas... chestnuts roasting in an open fire and all that!  I love all the pretty lights everywhere and I love that everyone seems so much happier at this time of the year (well, MOST people anyway!).

We put our Christmas decorations up on Friday, so all is well in "thisisme's" household.  Oh, did I mention that I don't do 'minimal'?! Not at this time of the year anyway.  Now I realize that there may be people out there who are saying 'Bah Humbug', but please bear with me and let me have my little moment!

I realize, of course, that there are people out there that are struggling with all sorts of things at the moment.  Emotional relationships, money worries, health problems, losing loved ones etc.  In our little home, we have had our fair share this year, losing someone very dear, me being so very poorly back in the summer, and now Emma's back problems, but we must try not to let these things defeat us.  I know that's very easy to say, but we must keep having HOPE.  Hope that things WILL get better.

My lovely daughter number 1 has been having extensive physio twice a week since she's been out of hospital and we are very hopeful that things will get a little easier for her.

Of course, another reason why Christmas is something wonderful to look forward to, is little Eli and Ruby.  They are such a lovely age for it.  I give thanks every day for my three very special grandchildren.  Eleanor won't be with us this year, as she is going to Peru.  That's right - PERU!  I don't know, India in February and now this little jaunt!  Her best friend's mum is Peruvian, so she was invited to stay with them for Christmas.  Emma and Mark aren't coming for Christmas, but they will (hopefully) be hear for New Year.

I hope you all have a good weekend ahead.  Look after yourselves until we meet up again.

Ho Ho Ho and Hallo Hallo Hallo, dear Thisisme! First, let me compliment you on yet another brilliant header. I love all the candles and figures... and the view of your garden through what appears to be a bay window. Marvelous!

It's so true. We all have our problems but this is the time of year to soak up some atmosphere and get in the spirit of giving and sharing and loving one another. Focus on making others happy and before you know it, you've forgotten your own worries.

Emma's looking beautiful as ever, even in that chair. I hope she'll soon be up and about and feeling fine. I can picture you decking the halls to make sure Eli and Ruby have lots of fun when they visit grandmum Diane's house during the holidays. Maybe Santa will leave presents for them to discover inside Sandy!

My Italian friend visited Peru recently and posted pictures on her blog. There are many spectacular vistas in the country and I'm sure it will be an adventure Eleanor will long remember.

Happy Sunday, dear friend Thisisme, and have a wonderful week!

We need more people like you in this world dear friend! More people to look to the hope, the light, the joy. I'm excited for Eleanor to travel to Peru! And my prayers are still with Emma for a complete recovery. It must be so difficult for her now. Thanks for sharing your happy photos and cheer. Looking forward to sharing in the good things this holiday season!

Hi Thisisme, you're so festive now, and I'm trying to wind down from Thanksgiving. I love your decorations, and the song you posted this morning is beautiful.

What an adorable photo of Eli and Ruby...I like that kind of background, it sets the colors of their clothing off-great photography in my book. And, Emma is looking wonderful! It is so nice that Eleanor will get to travel some more. She will learn so much!

A wonderful post and header photo, Thisisme, I'd better get myself in gear, time gets away from me these days! Have a wonderful week! ♥

Lovely, lovely- your decorations, plans, and your beautiful family. Eleanor is quite the world traveler! I know she will have an amazing time, and how wonderful little Eli and Ruby will be with you all. Continued recoveries to your daughter, and don't ever apologize about going all out for Christmas. It's a great thing to celebrate!

I had to laugh Diane as I do not do minimal either. I told my darling Joe that I really have been selling a large number of my things but it truly is hard to see. But we are having a bare tree except for lights because of the kitten. Your granddaughter is traveling a lot. She will be smarter for it too. CC may stay in South Korea and I shall have to adjust to that thought. Have a terrific week, olive

Diane: Your wonderful attitude inspires me! My prayers go to your family for your daughter's improved health. In decorating for Christmas, I'm somewhere in the middle. I'm not a minimalist, but neither does my house look, as my friend puts it, like Christmas threw up all over, but, oh, I'm often so tempted. There are so many pretty Christmas things out in the stores! I don't have grandchildren yet, but this year, my first great-nephew will be with us on Christmas Eve. I am very excited about that. You are so right in that children really make this holiday come alive! I hope we get to see more of your holiday decorations throughout the coming month!
