"Resentment is allowing someone to live rent free in your head.
Forgiveness is handing that person an eviction notice."
Forgiveness is handing that person an eviction notice."
I saw this quote on another Blog - Linda from Write from the Heart - and thought it was worth repeating here.
"A true friend is a Work of Heart"
"It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells the sort of life you have lived."
Remember ... a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
'A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture.'
'A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture.'
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - 'in case someone came over'. Finally I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
NOW, when people visit, I no longer have to explain about the 'condition' of my home.
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing, such as living life and having fun!
Quite a few of my blogging friends entered into the A - Z Challenge, and they are now at the end of the road with it, so to speak. Several of them found that they really enjoyed it and learnt a lot about themselves along the way. Others found that it became a bit boring after a while, and other found that it was putting too much pressure on them having to write a post every day, when they didn't always feel like it.
I say, "well done" to all of you who participated, whether you managed to get to the end or not. I must admit that I did think about entering it myself, but I felt that I would just rather carry on writing about random things as they entered this little head of mine! Although, heaven knows, I could certainly do with a writing prompt every now and then!
I can't believe that we are here at the start of another week. It's amazing just how quickly the time has gone since Christmas! Am I starting to feel just a little bit of pressure now about the wedding? - yes, I think perhaps I am! Obviously, it would be different if we were just all swanning off to a Hotel for the reception, but it is slightly different holding it in the garden!
The venue at Dartington Hall where the marriage ceremony will take place.

My little Bakery Shop has been very quiet of late - not many customers at all in fact. Then, all of a sudden, I've had to bake two birthday cakes for two of my special bloggy friends!
This first cake is for my friend Linda from News from Italy. Happy Birthday Linda! Linda moved to Italy from England with her husband in 2004, and posts amazing photos of her garden (it is worth visiting her blog just to see the magnificent Wisteria!) and of her life in Italy in general. She also tells us of all the traditions and celebrations that occur in her adoptive country. Linda and her husband really are 'living the dream', so please pop over and say hello and tell her that her friend thisisme sent you along!
I decided to make a chocolate cake this time, and it is for my friend Jenny over at kneesandpaws. In fact this year it is a special birthday, with a 0 at the end! Happy Birthday Jenny.
Jenny has a business and she supplies "plush accessories for kids who love to play cats and dogs." It really is fun! Her blog tells stories about her family, events as they happen in the world, and just about life in general, and she is a very supportive blogging friend. Again, please pop over and say hello. I know that she will be delighted to see you!
I would just like to take this opportunity to give a big WELCOME to my new Followers. I really do appreciate that you took the time to press that little FOLLOW button and join me on this blogging journey. Thank you!

I love the quotes at the beginning of your post!
I did enjoy particiapating in the A to Z Challenge. Thanks for sharing your friend's birthdays and blogs. I will hop over and visit as soon as possible.
Thanks for all your encouragement when I was away on vacation. I appreciate it!
How very sweet of you! And thank you for your kind words! And I cannot wait to see the pictures from the wedding!
Great quotes and Happy Birthday to Linda and Jenny!
Thisisme - what a lovely post. Full of kind words, cute quotes, and special birthday wishes to your blog friends.
I will drop in on Linda and Jenny and say hello - any recommendation of yours is worth a follow up.
Have a wonderful day,
Jenny
Belle - glad you liked the post. I liked the one about working so hard at the weekend "in case someone came". I think we've all been guilty of that at some time or other!
Claudia - My pleasure. I think everyone did so well with the A - Z Challenge.
Gawgus things - thank you!
Pearson Report - thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed today's post.
Great quotes especially the first one. My Mum used to quote this: "If you're wanting to see me, you're most welcome always. If you're wanting to approve my housecleaning skills, please schedule an appointment."
Well, it's not as if the royal wedding hasn't upped the ante on all succeeding weddings ;)
Your birthday bakes are great. The chocolate one is my favourite :)
Desiree - I LOVE that quote from your mum - wonderful! Eeeek! I hadn't thought about that, that we have something to live up following THE wedding! No pressure then! Actually, my sweet older daughter in France sent a text to my younger daughter (who is getting married) and said, "she doesn't look as good as you will on your special day." I thought that was really lovely!!
love the quotes and can't wait to see the pics of the wedding :)
Thanks for officially welcoming me to your blog! I followed your advice and visited Linda and kneesandpaws. Linda is kind of in the same situation as me - an English expat, so I look forward to keeping in touch with her!
Thanks, Duncan In Kuantan
Happy Birthday to Linda & Jenny. I also enjoyed that quote from Linda's blog & it is well worth spreading around. That sure was sweet of you to do all that baking. The opening banner on your page is gorgious. Girl you just keep getting better and better. Have a marvelous week.
Odie
Very nice garden scene in your header, Thisisme. My favorite quote is about scattering rather than gathering because it matches my philosophy. I have very little interest in material things. I seek the spiritual and love to share myself with others. Have a fine day and week, dear friend Thisisme!
great quotes and happy to hear you have finally learned that you should be out having fun not in scrubbing floors all day. happy birthday to your bloggy friend will have to go over and take a peek. in th emeantime happy monday
Dear Thisisme, when you began regularly commenting on my blog, my writing changed for the better. It changed from something I did for my "business" to something I now do for friendship. I now love blogging because of you. Thank you for the wonderful chocolate cake which is my favorite! Thank you also for being a friend whom I admire, who lifts people up with her sense of humor and support. You are amazing and I'm blessed to call you my friend.
I LOVE you new blog header - nice. I didn't do the A-Z blog challenge - sorry.
ANd I wish it was my birthday - I LOVE chocolate cake!

I don't choose to do those Writing Prompt things. I have too much chatting, rattling around in my own head, most of the time. ,-)
Guess if some people need them, they make sense.
But actually, I don't like reading posts, based on them.
Makes me wonder why the person didn't just sit down at her computer and write! As if she was sitting across the kitchen table, from a friend.... And chatting. That's how I do it. :-)
"Today, Justice"
lyndylou - glad you liked the quotes! Nice to hear from you, as always.
Duncan - my pleasure to welcome you officially to my Blog! That's nice that you and kneesandpaws are now going to be bloggy friends.
Odie - thank you so much for your kind comments and that new photo is one I took of the garden earlier this morning.
Shady - Yes, that quote is the one that I like the best as well. It really is true, as is "as ye sow, so shall ye reap". We should always remember that. As always, thanks for popping over dear friend.
Becca - Yep! No more scrubbing floors for me!!
kneesandpaws - Wow! That is a seriously lovely comment. Thank you so much. I am glad that we found ourselves on this blogging journey. Your blog just gets better and better. Happy Birthday!
Chatty Crone - I'm with you on the chocolate cake! Hee hee!! As I explained to Odie, I took my new header photo in the garden this morning.
Aunt Amelia's Attic - I don't think the challenges are for me, but some people have really enjoyed doing them, so that's good. Like you, I'd much rather just carry on with my own ramblings and this and that!
When I came by this morning (bright and early I might add!) your new banner was not displaying. What a beautiful scene from your garden...WOW! I'd be out there staring at it for hours :)
Desiree - so glad you liked my new banner. Yes, I took that photo of one little part of the garden this morning!
love the quotes - they are so true!
happy birthday to your bloggy friends. you bake the best cakes!
Your new header is stunning. Love the dust quote very much...my dust bunnies mate and you know what happens then!
Teresa - if only I could REALLY bake cakes like that!! Glad you enjoyed the quotes.
Olive Cooper - I was quite pleased with how the header photograph turned out I must admit! Yes, the dust quote was good! Hee Hee!
Happy Birthday to the two lovely ladies. You're always so thoughtful. I loved these quotes as I usually do! And it is true about living life and not worrying about picture perfect houses. Hugs My Awesome Friend!
Bouncin'Barb - I was worried you weren't coming to see me today ! (LOL!). Yes, living life is much more important dear friend.
I loved the quotes and hope it's ok with you but I copied them and will use them on my bigpond blog and in some of my pen pal letters if that is ok with you..........
Happy birthday to Linda and Jenny the cakes look great I am sure they will enjoy them just like I did..........
you are always so thoughtful to include the birthdays in your posts! what a sweet tribute. and you are so right about time passing by quickly. i think about it all the time, especially in the evening when the sun sets. another day passed. life is a beautifully fluid thing, i suppose.
I'm guessing my house is definitely a home then. Dust everywhere! lol
Love the first quote.
The last quote is my favorite! Since I started working full time, the house has been less clean. Now I don't feel so bad!
Jo-Anne Mother & Nana - yes, of course you can copy the quotes. Many of those that I use come to me in an e-mail anyway!
vintch - when you get to my great (!) age, you are really conscious of the time passing, and I don't like it!! Lovely to hear from you.
Anah- LOL!
On My Soapbox - try not to fret about it. When you are working, you just can't do everything. Concentrate on the important things in life my friend.
Lovely post Diane, I like the quote about the dust as I am not too keen on housework myself!
flowers on my table - thank you. Funny how most of us ladies picked up on the quote about the dust!! LOL!
I love all of these quotes my sweet bloggy friend.
